I know this is a video from a while back, but I am a seasoned knitter of plain, flat items - have never made a garment - and this is a departure for me, from the norm, and such a welcome one! Thank you for your excellent tutorials, I feel so much more confident! I have just started a 10-stitch blanket, but think I'll undo the current mess, and start again following your excellent example! What a winner!!

Nervous knitter, you have nothing to be nervous about! I am 70 years old, have been knitting since I was 7 or 8 and you have just taught me something new. What a buzz!! I'm off to practice. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am just so happy to have discovered your channel! I am 70 years old and most adept at crochet. I do knit, but not (what I would call "tricky") patterns, You have made this 10 stitch blanket so easy, and I thank you for sharing it with us. I tried, over and over again, last night to knit the wrap method and just couldn't get it. I absolutely love the corners on your version - front and back.

I thought i commented on this when you first posted it, but i am not finding it.....my great great aunt Mabel used to do this on anything that she needed to do w&t on, course she was 107 (mid 80s)when she passed and had been knitting since she was a child...so somewhere this stitch was lost. Glad someone figured it out and has brought it back.

I did it, I did it, I did it.....did I say I did it????? Thank you soooooo much for showing this. I did a practice run and it worked perfectly. Used some 100% cotton yarn left over from making dishcloths so now I will make a small 10 stitch dishcloth for practice. You are amazing for figuring this out. Hope to see numerous videos from you. Thanks again.

Well, I did it and I am very pleased with it. Your video was really helpful. I have been knitting since I was 6-years-old (64 years now) and just figured I would be able to handle this pattern, no problem. Then I got to the part about wraps and turns???????? I had never heard of this before and thought I was going to have to give up on the whole thing. Then, Taadah! you appeared in my life and now I can do it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Keep up the good work.

I wish i had seen your video before I started my blanket. Just like you I don't like working wrapped stitches. I gave up on wrapping and decided to live with the huge gaping holes in the corners and pretend it was lacy. Next time I will use your method. I have experimented with the 10 stitch blanket a bit and discovered I really like it better if it is a rectangle instead of a square. For me it is more pleasing to the eye. To make it rectangular you simply make the first part more than the recommended 9 ridges. Also, I've tried different numbers of stitches, like an 8 stitch or 12 stitch; whatever seems to fit and they all work. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you so much, I have been knitting off and on since I was about 7years of age (my dad taught me to knit) I found this to be simple, am currently doing the 10 stitch blanket the way the instructions says but I hate the wrap and turn, so will be doing the corners the way you have shown. Don’t worry your weren’t nervous at all, I could not tell, keep up the great work 💕

I discovered the ten stitch blanket on your channel and really liked the way you explained everything, so thanks very much! I then went back to the original instructions and could not figure it out from the instrucitons but I tried it out the way you described and it worked out fine.
My problem is I managed to do the 4 squares and they looked squarish. I then did the short rows, and the closing the gap and then the picking up and got to the stage where the work was a rectangle. After that, I did not know how to proceed but thought I will repeat the short rows, the closing the gap, and then the picking up but the entire piece of knitting now looks sort of hexagonal. Help, where did I go wrong?

I made a white blanket that’s 30” x 36”. I want to use a gray border & miter the edges. I understand what you did with the 10 stitches…do I knit the entire row & not the last stitch, then knit as you did so that 1 corner is mitered? Once that’s done, how do you do another miter on the next corner?

I would call it a stacked stitch that you knit together after slipping and turning your work. do you have any problem identifying the next corner to start your miter? I worry I will work past the proper miter.

    • @TheNervousKnitter

Jeannie Murphy once you complete joining the whole side, you just start this process over, once you have 10 normal stitches on your needle you start joining the other side...
