Hello, I am all set with my wool and needles... I'm nervous to start, but I'm going to do a practice run first. Now..... You, you shouldn't be nervous on here. I really like your teaching approach, you make it seem so easy, your voice is good and kind, ( So many people on here who's voices grate...lol) what can I say , well thank you is a good start. I'm going to watch one more time, then I'm going to make the plunge. Merry Christmas xx

Genius! I've been knitting for 65 years, have wonderful tension (she said, modestly) and write my own patterns all the time, but there have been gaps in my knowledge that I wasn't even aware of until easy access to videos came my way. One is a steek, currently being worked on, another was wrapped stitches for short rows, mastered recently, but then you come along with your itty bitty 2 years' experience and squeaky wool and simply blow me away with your mitred corner technique!!! Thanks so much for overcoming your nerves and making the video. I now feel the need to drop everything and have a go!
A little tip for you (which I got from my mother, so you get an idea of how old it is) is to stick your needles through your hair occasionally. They pick up the tiniest amount of your natural oils, not enough to see or feel, but enough to act as a barrier to the sweat that causes the squeak with acrylic wool on steel needles.
Needless to say, I've subscribed! X

alakev alakev It's an invisible amount, but it does the trick. An even better solution is to use stainless steel needles which have never squeaked on me. Worth the few extra pennies.

Dear Nervous Knitter -- THANK YOU so much. I have spent hours trying to make a mitered corner. The best parts of what you did here are that you didn't race through the process and you repeated it so many times for those of us who are even more nervous about trying this technique.

Thank you for the clear instructions for making a mitered corner . Although I have been knitting for some years, I've only done quick easy projects. Now that I've retired, have more time and wanted to finally make some of the patterns I never had the time nor nerve to try to do. Through clear instructions like yours, I'm finally understanding what I needed to know. Thanks for completely walking me through the mitered corner, it then made complete sense to me. Keep up the good work.

My grandma was the first person to teach me how to knit. Gave me some needles and a ball of yarn. I failed and since then I forgot about it. I watched youtube videos and got me my own stuff and I'm back at it. Thank you so much for such an easier way to knit blankets. I have baby blankets I used for support for my head and haven't found anything like them to replace and put away. I get I'm almost 21 but my dad's mom gave me them before she died and I would really like to send them back to my dad. (Only think I have left if her)

Thank you for this beautiful video. Very good step by step instructions 🥰
I have been knitting on and off for about 10 years. Most videos I watch don't address my dyslexic problems.
I knit continental (taught to me by my mother), and over the last ten years i have learned how to watch English style knitting and transfer it to my continental way of knitting.
I want to learn entrelac pattern, and short rows, but the thousands of videos out there, but like YOU said, they don't address my confusions on how to do the next rows other then...repeat the pattern. Even in my books it isn't clear. I have knitted several versions of entrelac for example, according to directions in my books or on videos.
I saved all my failed attempts in hopes to one day meet a great teacher (like you) that understands what I have difficulty with.
So my entrelac patterns are ALL backwards from my books and the videos I have been watching 😭.
And because they are knitted backwards they don't match up with the next rows where it says to pick up stitches 🤔🧐🤔.
So, you understand my problems and confusions with short rows and the wrap and turn parts.
Thank you again for your video, and I subscribed to your channel.

I was determined I would get going on a ten stitch to use up my small balls of yarn. I am patient and love to learn no skills but I thought I was going to give it up entirely. Thank heavens, after downloading three versions of the pattern I could not make any sense of and watching at least a dozen UA-cams - I eventually found you. You have produced first class videos in a language I can understand. I have lost count of the number of times I have unravelled my yarn and started again. So often that the first ball had do go to the bin as it was in a sorry state! Thank you so much for sharing your skills in this way. I have been knitting for over forty years and never have had as much difficulty with a pattern. Here you are and after two years you have been able to get this technique, Improve on the method of the turns and vastly improve on the method of joining, you are a real star and you are a talented knitter and teacher. No need for you to be nervous about anything in knitting or demonstrating. I have reworked patterns myself and rewritten sections after translating them into my own kind of English! I know well the hours you put in to succeed with these reworks. You are so generous with your time and your talent too and for that I am very grateful.

Thank you for this video! I've just discovered mitered squares and am excited to try and your technique is brilliant. I think you just invented a new stitch with the knit two together, hold on needle, flip right needle to go down back of k2g, and then slide the stitch of on the right needle, knit the first stitch and yarn next to it. That's a lot. Thank goodness you made a video. You should name that process.
I like how stockinette looks rather than garter so I'm going to try making this in stockinette.

This video was a LIFE SAVER! I have tired to do the ten stitch blanket ten times over, but could never get the corners down with all the wraps and stuff. This is so much simpler and I got it on the first try. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💕 You have my subscription forever, and I will be your biggest fan ever for the rest of my life! 💕

I tried doing a ten stitch blanket multiple times before and always ended up getting confused and quitting but your technique worked so well for me and I love how it looks! Also a great video and explanation, thank you so much!!!!

Thank you! I’ve started 10 stitch blankets at least four times and got so frustrated by the corners. This looks much easier. I am undecided about the ridge but also think your joining video makes a nice flat blanket.

Thank you so much, this is a much easier way. I consider myself to be an experienced knitter but found the twist and turn very confusing. This is a much easier way.

Absolutely brilliant! I've knitted for longer than I care to admit and have never been comfortable with W&T short rows -- or any other version I've tried. Like you, I have a hard time spotting the wraps and using dozens of markers, or counters (which I forget to advance) just wasn't cutting it. This is so easy to do and your instructions are great! Thank you for overcoming your fears and showing us how!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Oh, so so easy. I've watched I can't tell you how many videos on the 10 stitch blanket and hated wraps and turns. Your method is easy and neater looking. Off to your next video!

So much easier! I was reluctant to try the 10 stitch blanket because I didn't like the obvious ridge. Your way looks so much better and more finished. I'm using my massive stash of LB Homespun and it is so soft and squishy.Thank you thank you thank you!

I love your detailed tutorial. So often I've begun to knit a 10 stitch blanket and finished up throwing my work into a corner. Now I'm confident that I can actually do this! Thank you so much.

First things frist, u are amazing! Keep calm because u are awesome!
Second thank u so much to share your version... I’m an incipient knitter and all of those turns and turn again makes me sick and completely lost. Your way to do the corner its so simple and easy that I’ll give a try on this blanket. Again thank u. Sorry abt my rusty English and be blessed
