593 HP Weekend Toy Subaru STi - The Mag Blue Beast

- When it comes to building a Subaru STi the ultimate dream for many is to have a big rotated turbo set-up. John’s Subaru STi has spent a good amount of time with a stock location turbo set-up making 510 HP (409 WHP). After enjoying that for a few years John wanted more power and a unique set-up that would turn heads on the weekend or at car events. This led us to setting him up with an ETS (Extreme Turbo Systems) Rotated Turbo Kit featuring the Garret GTX3576R Gen II turbo. We had almost everything custom powder coated in his engine bay to really make his car stand out, coating was handled courtesy of RoRo Designs locally. With supporting mods in place the car put down a healthy 593HP (475 WHP) and sounds absolutely bad ass doing it!!!! We go through this special build with the owner John and get his feedback on how he enjoys the set-up.

"Pockets ain't empty cuz" build right here.
Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know of a way to log back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Giovanni Ryder Instablaster =)
hell yeah, thats a nice build. buddy must have a decent job lol
Thank you!
All about credit my guy :D getting my mazdaspeed3 built to 400hp this year and I'm 27
Or you can straight up go homless n live in ur car n rent out a storage unit an stack up parts. Then buy a junker n drop ur whip off to get it done. 2 jobs too. Think outside the box.
@@NewDemons666 true, but in retrospect, what if the what if’s come into play. Gotta have secure credit cards not just credit cards
Man what a beautiful looking engine on a very good looking STI hatch. Touge tuning too very good care of you. A great video.
Wow a great set up and build. The car sounds amazing and looks really cool. Stay safe guys.
Man I love that blue color on the hatch.
"....Time to move up..!" Fades in with a spooling up Garrett. Epic.
it's perfect! hoping i can get my 2020 STI this fast one day.
It's definitely possible with the right shop.
Those things moveeeeee stock man 🤘
That is a gorgeous hatch! 😎😎☝️☝️☝️
Thank you so much!
Nice build that sounds insane 😍😈
Thank you Majed
So clean!!! Certainly doing something similar with my hatch, but going with the new generation of Garrett G-Series 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome, just like my setup making 500 wheel, good stuff
Did you retain the factory cams Pete? I'm in the process of building mine for the same goal
Wow love the color on the car.
Thank you!
I like how he knocked BMW at the end. 👏🏾
LoL!
Ajai M that’s because he’s a typical Subaru owner thinking he has the best car around. Lol
@@JacesOwnWorld Sounds like you're the typical Golf owner thinking that. Lol -insert triggered face behind mask meme.
I'm just outside Mississauga. Time to get me an STI.
We also work on other platforms but we're definitely known for our Subarus :)
Wow
Really nice build
I still have my subie stock
I am looking forward to tune it
If you passionate and have cash you ca do it it’s just pricey. I think comes to how bad you want it
lucky ass i have a 05 sti and my car is still stock
One day!
Not lucky you can do it too.
Finding a good shop to do business with is half the battle. Is the block sleeved? Any headwork? Dope car.
The block is still on stock sleeves with minor port work. The motor has been running for 4+ years and the plan is to upgrade to a closed deck and throw some E85 at it in the future.
@Touge Tuning
Hold on....,this block is semi-closed deck with over 550 & 25psi ? this car obviously ain't been driven hard in 4+ years then ? Cos driving hard will eventually blow though the head gaskets on anything less than cdb.
The fire beast Is no.1 at fortnite read what he said! Stock sleeves has a built motor also says it in the video.
@sdvdub1
I don't understand what your saying?
I also think you miss-understood what I was saying.
Stock sleeves & a built motor, is what it says, yes.
But it does not mean that it ain't gonna blow the headgaskets because it's a 'built' motor.
Blowing head gaskets at the power levels the motor is running at is to do with the block case flexing under pressure, so like I said, if the block is not cdb then anything less than a closed deck block, like for example, open deck or semi closed deck blocks ain't gonna hold up under hard driving conditions for very long.
Dude, you are right on the money with that comment. I’ve been struggling to find a great shop in the Massachusetts/ New Hampshire area.
What clutch? I have a similar build with the Competition Twin Disc Ceramic clutch. The peddle feel is very stock like, the engagement is pretty good, no shuttering, it shifts smoothly, but it squeals when starting which is pretty annoying in a daily driver. I had their organic twin disc, which was quite, but it sticks, making it hard to shift and it had very little slip, making starting on an incline very difficult.
He looks like the guy from fight club lol. Bad ass cat btw. Love the color combo on the engine bay.
Thanks!
sick build bro
Awesome Subaru
I know this post is 4 years old....I might get an answer....how did you know if cyl 4 was cracked?
Nice! I currently have your old set-up with a 2.5XTR, ELH, ETS FMIC, speed density, etc. for 383WHP at 23psi on 93. Good luck with your sweet ride.
You have blotch 2.5XTR?
@@nonofyourbusinessnonofyour5435 Yes
@@anything_automotive power throughout rpm range?
@@nonofyourbusinessnonofyour5435 3,800 to redline which happens real fast.
@@anything_automotive dang that sounds good lol. I have a cobb 20g shit hits hard I love where am at.
Aside from the AWESOME car, set up and content(s), I don't know if you get this or not but you resemble Charlie Puth mah man 😄. Charlie Puth - ATTENTION cause that's what you'll be getting with that crazy build and a street/track beast. Keep up the great work brotha. ✌
Never knew Shia LaBeouf was so into cars
super gnarly car
Thank you
When there is power ...comes the drone lol. That’s why it’s not a daily
Hatchback + Tomei = Drone City
@@TougeTuning I have a 2004 FXT, anything other than stock STI exhaust is drone city, been through 5 exhaust setups, always have to go back to the STI one for my DD. :(
Super clean. Mine is currently making 380whp. Want to make 450 on 93 octane.
380 is good why need more. Cars eat money so fast
maaan i would love to get atleast 650whp on my sti hatch on pump gas but sadly i live in cali and we only have garbage 91...
Those are clean wheels would I be able to make that kind of power with a TMIC? Instead of a FMIC?
I have a suburu and when the ac on it give a little shake i want like to know what is the broblem
Is it a fully built block, closed deck, pistons and rods? Head work? Methanol injected? I have so many questions.
The block has forged pistons and rods, stock sleeves, stock crank. Heads are mildy ported and it runs straight pump fuel with no supplemental system like meth injection.
@@TougeTuning that's incredible. I thought for sure it was gonna be a closed deck with +1 valves and springs with a full port. Amazing job! Any idea what kind of longevity one could expect with a combination such as this for a daily?
@@0JThomps0 4 blocks
@@alexortega714 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@TougeTuning Hi Team, is there any benefit in using 272 cams if the initial goal is around 300 - 350 awkw?
Also have you ever had longevity issues in using titanium retainers?
Really Value your feedback immensely
That's what I'm talking about.
I would’ve got bored with only 380 torque too, due to old technology in the engine...
Cool
What block do you have?
Cams? Any opinions on the 3076r vs 3576r?
I love the car but I am wondering how you are making 593 on 1000cc injectors... im out of fuel on the 3076r and 1050s at 470 wheel
Great question! The car makes around 480WHP on pump 94 octane on ID1000's. 500WHP is around the limit on Pump fuel for 1000cc injectors in this application without increasing the fuel pressure. The best solution for you would be to get an adjustable FPR and increase the base fuel pressure to 50PSI. You'll also want to be sure your fuel pump can flow enough fuel up top to handle the increased fuel pressure.
You know what I don’t understand his Dom 2.5 setup made 410whp on 94 octane and how the hell am I making 511whp/436wtq @7000 RPMS with a Dom 1.5 10cm 3” inlet on E85. I’d like to believe my tuner but I’m starting to think it’s far fetched. He says my car is one of the highest power Dom 1.5 cars he’s seen but I’m still having a hard time believing this. It baselined at 250whp/248wtq. I wish all dynos where the same. I guess all that matters is it’s a fun car. 24psi target boost spiking 25psi.
@@Dave-so7sf The timing advance that ethanol enables you to utilize is incredible. Yes something as little as fuel can have that much of a difference.
I am on e85 as well and I have never seen a Subaru make 593 on 1000cc injectors even on e85... I'm not saying it cant be done it just blows my mind because my injector duty cycle at 430 wheel horsepower on e85 is like 102%... I just got new injectors though so hopefully I can push some bigger numbers
@@bh_media22 fair enough, I dunno either, I'm running id1700's which are only at 72% duty cycle at WOT in 4th
Do you run the undertray
The motor was fine but I had issues with oil leaks coolant leaks... I bought a car with cylinder 4 cracked ....
BRO UR BRAIN IS CRACKED lol
What are those rims?
Hey what wheels are those and what are the specs on them please?
I got a 2013 wrx no leaks or engine light but god damn burns oil so much any ideas on what is it? No knocks engine sounds healthy no mods
Charles Reyes get a catch can or air oil separator my man. EJ’s eat a little oil anyway
If your engine is burning oil you either have a ringland issue or a PCV issue. Typically anything over 1L per 1000KM is going to be a serious issue.
What oil are you using?
Cesar Augusto Palacios full synthetic 5W30 castrol
Charles Reyes ahh use 5W40 for summer and 5W30 for winter. Not familiar with Castrol but I only trust two oil brands. That’s Shell Rotella T6 or Motul. Some experts say Rotella isn’t a good oil for our cars; I personally have use it and no issues. I recently just switch to Motul just too see the difference. Also a good thing about Rotella is cheap and found everywhere.
..... the amount of smoke coming from the exhaust at 2:45 can't be good.
Condensation from the hot exhaust. Car was tuned in February and was -11C that day.
Does do have the paint code?
475whp or 475hp @ 25psi of boost?
Whp
What’s the paint code for this color? It looks so clean
The color is lapis blue pearl
What is the color code u use cause you inspire me to do this color
Monkey see monkey do
How much would a decent build cost like maybe 400 horsepower ?
Way more than a 2018 mustang. Probably at least double.
20-25k including labour Canadian
I just can't vibe with equal length headers on the boxers.
Anyone know what lip is that?
I hate those baffled sounding BOV's.
They sound like garbage.
Seems like you have more drive train loss than realistic.
You do not go from 593 HP to 475WHP. Worse case scenario is 15% loss in HP which would be 503...
You are looking at 20% drive train loss.
So either you make 475WHP or you make 593 BHP. You do not make both...
Anyone know what color that is?
How much has been put in there worth
To do a build like this if the car was 100% stock it would be around $30,000CAD with the engine.
Amazing thanks sick video.
Agreed, I did a similar build from stock and costs around 26k 😭
Good subi tuners are far away from texas. ☹
I know a bad ass one in H-town! (NOT Kosmic motorspots
I wonder how much he spent on this beauty
not enough
Build is around 30k can
I can smell the vape juice
Why tf is the music so loud?
weekend toy? thats a daily. np
It's a bit loud for a daily, even John would admit that :D
Vibrant makes the “ultra quiet” resonator which does a awesome job cutting drone out
No you can't no turbo spool under vacuum. lol Just because you hear it whistling doesn't mean it's Spooling mean. A car has to be in boost to hear spool nice car though.
I'm not calling bullshit necessarily but a lot about this build contradicts a shitload of OG knowledge on nasioc.
But do you vape tho ?
That’s 30k build
Weekend toy MTF 😂😂😂
Factory trans
Yup the car still runs the factory transmission.
The amount of money spent on this EJ, on another car would of given like 800hp+ lol. Coming from a subie owner btw. Just the sad truth. Lol
Which would be nice if you drag race. The sad truth is another car might not be AWD or have the ability to be a street car, track car, rally car, grocery getter car, or family car, all at the same time.
Georgio Henderson lol please, there’s not that many reliable EJs out here that are able to do that on a daily basis year in and out. You heard him, he bought it with cylinder 4 already cracked lol. Even fully built these shits give problems. Which is why Subaru of America is ditching this platform. Not to mention 2 class action lawsuits they had to deal with over EJs failing. I’m a subi owner but I’m not a fanboy. Most subie owners are.
I think you would be surprised at the cost and the build has happened over many years so it's not all spent at once. With E85 this car would be a 650WHP.
Touge Tuning what is the estimated total price for this build?
@@jaydnsmiley this is well over 30k into the build
all that for 470 😅 FA is the way to go E60 just a few boltons you’ll make 400+ and be reliable 🤓
Hes on pump gas 😑
FA engines sound like shit and they bend rods like mad, but ok.
Header not, “headers”.
sean kelly boxer has two heads. Doesn’t it have two headers?
@@jacobcaparaso9892 The header is all one piece. It's either a 4-2-1 design or a 4-1 runner design.
Это же "пакемон"- самый ущербный кузов у импрезы. Кроме внутрянки там смотреть не на что!
you got that gay ass music while were trynna hear the car
What point are you referring to?
Typical Subaru owner. Calling his STI a “racecar” when it’s far from it. Thinking his car is better than cars like M3’s. And then rejoicing in his engine in how awesome it is, when everyone knows that a 4-cyl turbo car that isn’t putting out more torque than hp, is not that great, an is utilizing old technology.
Jace MK7 Butthurt VW owner
When do they count as a racecar then?
*angry ricer VW noises*
