Welcome back to the show! Today we're hanging out with Chris and his built 2013 Subaru Impreza STi on E85. Not only is this fine example of a modified STi sedan packing big heat under the engine thanks to Boost Barn Motorsports and Spectrum Motorsports, but it seems to be great at doing just about everything. This definitely about as close as you can get to having it all.. it's a street car, a show car, and could even be used at AutoX or a track day without issue. Power is sent to all four wheels via Subaru's symmetrical AWD system, putting down 450+whp and 550 lb/ft of torque. CRAZY!

But my car is the 08 WRX still with the 5 speed. Making 417whp/410 torque at only 19.5 psi of boost I also live in the pacific northwest. Let me know if you want to collab!

Next month I'm doing the fuel system, TGV delete and flexfuel with a pro tune from P&L motorsports up here in Chicago and I'm super stoked. I want my daily to get to Chris' eventually but for now, I'll settle with what I have. This car is fucking amazing! I've watched this video about 5 times now.

@@johnrosciolo8640 usual Subaru things, if it’s at 100k it needs a timing belt and water pump, while the timing is apart may as well do headgaskets and valve cover gaskets. (Little secret, if you go in and retorque the head bolts every 40k miles, you’ll never need to replace headgaskets again) also this generation has an open lawsuit for piston rings so if the car is below 100k miles, stock, or newer than 10 years, it falls under extended warranty, also I highly recommend deleting TGV motors and Secondary air injection. Will save a lot of maintenance down the road and make a little easy power. Also just note that turbo subarus walk a fine line between “normal Subaru engine noise” and “needs a rebuild”

Update on my last comment from 10 months ago... The new motor parts are....The GDT 4 cylinder cooling mod, IAG comp series AOS, ceramic coated Tomei Eul headers, ceramic coated P&L Motorsports uppipe w/ Turbosmart 40mm EWG, P&L Motorsports top feed fuel rail conversion w/ TGV deletes. Injector dynamics 1050x injectors, AEM E85 340 lph fuel pump, cobb flex sensor, Aeromotive fpr, Grimmspeed ebcs, Perrin TMIC, and ngk plugs. New Exedy stage 1 HD clutch w a new OEM flywheel put together with an E85 tune by P&L motorsports.
My car now makes 350whp on 60% E85. Torque value couldn't be taken but I know it's higher than 350 because my first drive after picking it up from tuning, surprised the crap out of me. With all of the the new mods, the thing that scared me most about running E85 was the super quick turbo spool. The awd wheelspin when traction isn' the best. That paired with also having an EWG. Every wot top rev shift a big pop out of the single exit Tomei.
Long story short, I laughed like Marcus @ 12:21 Awesome feeling

Current update. Stock radiator started failing at the top side where it's plastic. Which happens at ~115k miles. The old radiator looks beat to hell. I have a Koyorad coming in to replace that along with silicone hoses. Keeping it going for another month or so before I completely rebuild. Subie motors defintely are reliable, if the owner takes care of it. Update to come in another few months.

But you really don’t. If you factor in the cost of the car, plus well selected mods and a competent tuner. You’ll be fine (2013 wrx with 100,00kms of trouble free motoring) Not to mention to still drive these cars, not “ride” in them like a lot of new cars.

@@zanebauer2974 trust me I love my 07 sti and I didn’t want to let it go. I bought my 335i, with all the simple bolts on and turbo upgrade. I haven’t looked back at my sti and it was just collecting dust so I made the hard choices to sell it and let some1 else enjoy it.

Currently building 2008 sti for 400hp on 91 oct. Iag stage 2 short block with oil pick up & baffle + stage 2 oil pump, Perrin fmic, Cobb 20g turbo, fully rebuilt heads with gsc s2 cams, act street clutch and flywheel, Iag aos, iag engine mounts, Spyder C-Style headlights and a few other mods. Including labor I’m just over 20k.
Edit: Still need to pay for final labor installation, tune, tires, rims and tints. When finished it will be a 25k+ build, and as a 20 yr old I don’t regret any of it :D
