  • In this video I am comparing the Akrapovic exhaust sound with and without the DB killers, being "Part 2". The video with me showing the process of removing the DB killers "Part 1" is linked below.

    I discovered your channel today. Subscribed after the chain and throttle video. Bought my Tenere two days ago. 👍

    nice video mate!do you have full exhaust or you debaffled only??

      Only DB killers. The catalytic converter is still in. A full Akro exhaust would be insanely loud...

    Thanks for the test. I would prefer the sound with the DB Killers IN.

    Hi and thanks for the video you uploaded, it's done very well, I wanted to know if removing the KILLER DB you had an increase in power / performance or if the modification is only for a sound / sound factor??? Thanks for the reply. 😅😅😅

      I did not notice any change in performance for the better or worse, with the exception of reduced engine braking. However if you were to remap the ECU without the db killers you surely would get a power gain.

    Excellent video well done! I'm curious about the reduced engine breaking, is it a very small difference like 10% or more significant? Thanks

    • @gravelroadslovenia
      @gravelroadslovenia  3 роки тому +1

      It is a noticeable difference and it is not negligible. Its not disturbing or annoying, its just something to get used to.
      I will put it this way... Imagine the stock engine braking being "Maximum" and no engine braking being "Zero". Without the DB killers is "Medium". I hope this helps 😄

      @@gravelroadslovenia I followed your demonstration and removed the DB killers. The sound is certainly better. I noticed the decreased engine breaking you mentioned in the video. But, I feel like maybe the acceleration has also decreased slightly. Did you notice any decrease in acceleration? If so is there anything that can be done besides the obvious of putting them back in 🙂 Thanks

      @@itsdavep I have noticed the same thing a few weeks back when I put the baffles back in.
      Doing an ECU tune should make the difference. Having a freer flowing exhaust opens potential for more power but the stock ECU is not for that. I cannot guarantee anything as I haven't tried it myself, but there is some useful information on the T7 forum. Hope this helps!

    I have a 2020 T7 Rally Edition, with Akro, tried with and without baffles, prefer it with baffles.

    Very nice sound. I have the same bike (rally 2021) and I am thinking of removing the db killers. I have heard that removing DB killer could be harmful for the engine and that a air/fuel ratio reconfiguration is necessary. Any thoughts on this ? thanks

      I'm sure it will not damage or harm the engine, but it does effect the performance. A friend of mine said that without the DB-killers his top speed decreased by 10km/h which makes sense, since the back pressure of the engine is reduced, and with that goes the engine braking too.
      When designing a performance exhaust system what they do is synchronize the air pressure pulses in the exhaust with the exhaust valve timing on the engine in such a way, that the air gets sucked out of the cylinder to allow for more fresh air to enter, thus getting more power. If you want to understand this better watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/g1v05FI-fzg/v-deo.html

      This is a bit late, but just in case anyone comes across this. I had my Euro 5 remapped, and from factory the engine runs very lean even with the DB-killers. I recommend a map on the bike regardless, but especially with db-killers removed. That said, I generally prefer riding with the DB-killers installed as the noise get's very tiring on longer riders.

    Why exactly are you doing this? Just noise?

    • @gravelroadslovenia
      @gravelroadslovenia  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, from the factory its too muffled for my taste. The whole point of having Akrapovic exhaust or any aftermarket exhaust for that matter is for it to make the motorcycle louder and rowdier. The performance gain is negligible to be honest.

    careful! people dont give a fuck if they hear you or not - I am the same when I am in my car, I might hear you, but as long as I dont see you its not my job to get out of the way!
