What about Kamal Hassan and Hay Ram. Hay Ram is the best known work of Shah Rukh in Tamil Nadu (I think his only native Tamil language film to this date) and the guy’s acting was stellar despite only being a cameo role. He would’ve outshined Kamal Hassan in those scenes with his natural acting and acted in that movie for free. His best acting work thus far.

When I visited Delhi, Chandigarh and Manali for a 10 day Trip last month, We stopped at few restaurants for lunch and dinner. Do you know what I found on their cuisines displayed on the shop and also in the menu book? I found Cuisines like Indian, Chinese, Italian and freaking ‘South Indian’. Now I understand that North is very much different from South. But does that justify portraying ‘North’ ones being portrayed as ‘Indian’ and South ones as ‘South Indian’? Are we a different country according to them already?
In fact if you see, Bollywood and The National Media operating from Delhi, these are the real perpetrators who portray people down South or of North East as some sort of outside and different people. And when this kind of Things get repeated over and over again with support of a Divisive Congress Centre at that time, which unfairly imposed Hindi at many instances on rest, it almost brain washes people into accepting what they are saying. What you say today are just fruits of the work done since decades passing on through generations.
I agree and India is not just for SRK and Bollywood .
That’s cuz the entire south is culturally, linguistically very different. Though there are many languages spoken in the north - Hindi and Bollywood is the link. For sure they have their own industries and all but coming to south - Hindi or Bollywood is almost non-existent and is often overshadowed by our own film industries, stars, and stories. Though we consider ourselves as part of India, the entire south is culturally very connected. Our languages are also from a different linguistic family - the indo-Dravidian. We have similarities in food & lingo while still co-existing with differences.

Nobody comes close to Hrithik's craze in the south. Of course srk is srk. Ranbir also has a decent fan following in the south but they watch his films in Hindi. Don't just follow the trend of bashing bollywood just for the sake of it!
That is now, but during 90s surely it was srk who was the face of bollywood atleast in tamilnadu. Its not only movies, he used to be brand ambassador for pepsi that time so his posters used to be in every general stores shop that time.

South Indians havent been accepting any other language of medium to communicate hence the gap. The central and north part of India have a common language amongst them, Hindi. Whereas each state of the south have their own and not willing to integrate a common language in their curriculum. Even now, 2023, not many school have a common language. I have colleagues from Andhra who don't know any other language and it's difficult to work with them because of poor communication skill, that includes English.

Why are u so jealous? Did he take 1000 crores from u? He only got support from Chennai, Kerala and Bengaluru. Other places in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka didn’t see Pathan. Even then he crossed 1000cr. Im a South Indian/ Tamilian and Ive seen people refer to Aishwarya Rai as the epitome of feminine beauty. But never SRK. Earlier it used to be Ajith “periya Ajith nu nenappu” then it became Hrithik Roshan/ Ranbir Kapoor.
South hardly watchs srk films,so no proper pan india stars in india right know, partly because of language barriers.
