The description that happens with nightsinger is similar to a paladin breaking his oath, and the way she finishes the mage guy is needlesly brutal, which would be a fitting way of breaking the oath
This scene is so much more satisfying with Rolan in it. While he doesn't do much in this exact cutscene, the interactions prior to the fight and post fight make his arc all the sweeter.
I agree. I also like what Lorroakan has to say about Rolan if you do speak with the dead on him. Small thing but still funny considering how much Lia and Cal would tease him about his magical ability.

don't get me wrong, this cutscene is great and all and really deserve all the praises it's get, but I think Karlach's scene at the end of her quest after you kill *redacted* is just build differently, and is one of the best speech in gaming history
Yeah hard agree it was absolutely brilliant. The writing, voice acting and animation of that scene is the best I've ever seen in a game. Karlachs' voice actress really stood out in a game that has already exceptional voice acting.

When you talk to her after the fight she is like: "Wow, did you hear the screams of our enemies when I split their heads open and bathed in their blood? What a glorious day!!! Let's go back to the camp so we can rejoice together remembering how we massacred them."

I liked this cutscene, but damn if it isn't dark! I already found there to be some poetic justice in Lorroakan being smited by the divinity he sought to achieve, but I was NOT expecting Dame Alyn turn into Bane with that backbreaker.

Made a separate comment about it but I'm pretty sure she also broke her oath by doing that. If you haven't seen it yet look at a clip at what is said if you broke your oath as a paly then listen to what she says about how she feels after.

Also, Dame Aylin is in the final fight (for me) with her full powers, so no I would say she still has her oath. The feeling she expresses is meant to be her wearied at the realisation that she'll likely be fighting the same battle her whole immortal life. This is the second guy in a tower to try to trap her forever within a week of her century long imprisonment.
when i saw him for the first time and he demands aylin so he can get her immortality like ketheric, i was like "aint no way im gonna give my angel mommy to lazlow from gta v", told aylin about it and kick his ass together
The best...if it doesn't get bugged. In mine, even when i had saved her in Act 2 and told her I would join her agaisnt Lorroakan, she appeared as "dead" suddenly in my quest log, making this scene super weird as I had her alive and dead at the same time.
In mine after this cutscene she just stood there brooding over his corpse, and never returned to camp. Then I went back there like 20 hours of gameplay later, talked to her, and suddenly Isobel instant transmissioned next to her and they had a cheery conversation about how they were gonna go do something else until the end of the game. Was worried the game would consider her dead or something but it worked out ok.
I didn’t get this cutscene either because Roland pushed Klank off the edge and she flew down to kill him while I took out Lorroakan. I did think it was weird that his corpse stood upright and bugged out, but yeah no cutscene. Act 3 of this game is a fucking mess
i think it's pretty bugged. in mine it never triggered bc she flew down to the puzzle level beneath the fight location, and from there she vanished post-fight and never returned to camp. hope she comes back lol

I'm not much further in the story, but she mentions a fatigue after this moment. I think her killing Lorrokhan here (after he was unable to fight) was a breach of her Paladin Oath. And thus became a Oathbreaker. Could be wrong though.
She's just tired of fighting. If she broke her oath she'd lose all her holy powers right then and there. But in any case shes a psychopath. Wouldnt take long for her to break her vow.

Yea you can literally go snitch on him to her after he offers to buy her and she’ll immediately leave to kill him. If you wait to long to help her fight him she can die though so you need to immediately return to the tower

No cutscenes between them or anything, he was just a random dude.

To me it implies a backstory around the binding ritual and it’s original intended use. The fact that she feels like she just lost something but even as an emissary and child of a god can’t remember what, signals that a powerful entity has repressed her memories. Just a guess but I think she voluntarily co-created the binding to extend her immortality to her lover. This would have been way back before the first fall of Moonrise Tower.
She's just very old, and very tired at this point. Think about it, she'd been kept trapped for over a century in Shar's realm, killed countless times by Thorm's Shar worshipping followers to raise them as Dark Justiciars. She finally gets released from that prison, and the first thing that happens is some Wizard immediately tries to re-create her imprisonment for his own benefit. She's immortal, but she's clearly been traumatized by the experience.

How the heck do you get Rolan there? In mine he often randomly dies somewhere in the shadow curse.

In my game it did, she's the one that struck the final blow to him after every other enemy was dead so maybe that's a requirement.
