    I'm seven weeks post op, gastric bypass.
    I've been watching your videos since before surgery.
    Thank you for all the information and help you have given to us.

    Thanks for sharing! I just got home from my first doc appointment and getting ready to try and convince my insurance co. to approve my surgery. These vids are so helpful. It's funny because it's almost exactly a year to the day that you posted this - I'm excited to see your "now" vids. :)

    Just had my RNY last Wed (1/19/16) and most everything that was preached beforehand came true but there were somethings that they didn't mention. 1) This greasy taste in my mouth 2) My weight loss would fluctuate from time to time 3) That I would feel this damn good just 10 days after surgery.
    I had buyer's remorse at first but that passes I feel so much better about my decision now and I thank God in heaven I had it done, I was dying.

      +Robert Nun'ya You are gonna look back at pictures of yourself before surgery and wonder how you ever functioned so heavy.

    I had my surgery yesterday and I felt the exact same as you. The water went down great I didn't have a problem with nausea. Slight gas pain in the chest but definitely not as bad as they make it out to be. Thank you for sharing your story! I watched you before I went in but now watching it after I know exactly what you're talking about. :)

    Yeah walking is important I got blood clots years ago before my surgery it is terrible. The gas is what hurt me the most after surgery.

    I think it's normal to feel mixed emotions after surgery. My surgery date is Wednesday, June 19, 2013 so I'm counting the days down...
    Take care, Kelly

    I guess every Dr is different I did not have to do a Bowell prep. I had the flu two weeks prior from my surgery and it was terrible. Now I'm the same way it is scary and you think all these emotions.

    I am glad someone voiced the thought or feeling I have about how being healthy and thin is so unattainable in my mind, then going through all this crap to get there but now that it's happening I'm hesitant or anxious about it and for me, nervous and wondering if after 3 long years of tests and appointments, classes and traveling.. am I truly making the right decision? Thank you for this vlog.. you're very helpful and inspiring :)

    I only regret I didn't do it sooner. Call your insurance company and see what they say. It depends on your insurance deductible.

    Thanks for all this helpful information. Im a new subscriber and considering having gastric bypass surgery but I’m torn between that and the sleeve. Were you awake when they put the catheter in? How painful is it when I took it out? I would hate feeling so tired but not being able to sleep because you have to stay awake to drink water. Frustrating.

    Hey, thank you for sharing your experience. I have surgery in less than 1 week! 5 days to be exact and i just wondered how long it takes until you're feeling back to yourself again? And also how long does the pain from the op last?
    I hope to make some videos too, to track my progress and share my experience. Thanks!

    • @Millabee67
      @Millabee67  10 років тому +4

      It really doesn't take that long. My husband and I didn't have any pain issues when we got home.
      It's a tricky question because u never really go back to your old self. The first few months are tough, you're basically detoxing and you can't eat what you want. you become a bit of a crab, lol.

    I am about to have this done for severe reflux and I am so anxious! Did you have any problems with hair loss? How are you doing now.

    • @Millabee67
      @Millabee67  10 років тому

      I actually still get a bit of heart burn, but it's nothing like before. I'm a year out and I still get a bit of hair loss but it's gotten better. I had hair loss even before the surgery when my reflux was severe.

      @Millabee67  10 років тому

      In the first week I was just drinking broth. It was only until week two when I could have protein shakes and pureed foods. When I did start eating pureed soups I would just use a handheld blender. Get one!
