      You can still do it! Don't give up. Check resorts. As long as you have customer service or hospitality experience you're in there! I'm looking to move for work myself.

    Ben, thanks for the Advice this helped with the relocation I just negotiated. $30k "Grossed UP" this was a new term to me. I think it means I get $30k after taxes. Also, 3 months of Mortgage payments. Now I should just look for a 3 month mortgage. 🙂

    I am looking to possible rent my home out in a great area in Waterford Michigan. I was thinking of trying and connect with a relocation expert that may have some clients interested in relocating and renting in my area. I have been told the companies take care of everything as far as getting rent paid on time and are willing to pay more than the going rate under the right circumstances. I was wondering if you can recommend a company that may be able to help me out in that area. thank you so much.

    @Benjamin Preston, Hello My Wife and I want to move and she is an Assistant Manager and she is not privy on some situations as she is from an other country and we live in the USA, Their is a new location that will be opening and its 260 miles from where we currently live and the move is in a small rural town in Maine and due to the economic downturn and housing market, increased costs, to a scarce rental market too! So I thought there must be a way to ask for Relocation Package to help us, Is it possible that we my speak with you for a few minutes??? Her company is TJX companies Inc. and can be hard to talk to at times... So if you could reach out to me would be great!!! Thank you Benjamin!!!

    Insightful 📝
    Bro in my case the lack of clarity & guidance to follow the path of starting freelancing has become a problem as my field of construction design & drafting industry ( Hvac ) there aren't enough mentors to guide & show path specifically as it's not something which is in trend like Information technology sector & many clients prefer people with already 1 or 2 yrs of experience on projects.. what do you think should i be doing in such a situation ? Also pls suggest some best or ur favourite books to know practical tips on online money making as service providers..

    Very helpful - thank you. If they post a job listing at say 100k ... how does your relocation package factor into that? Will this affect your bonus. Essentially you are just getting it up front. Will they give you an advance - when will you get it

    • @landonwoods2408
      @landonwoods2408 4 місяці тому

      Shouldn’t. It’s basically like a taxed bonus

      Some employers will pay your moving expenses taxes for you - you should negotiate this benefit if it is not already included in your package. For example, a company I worked for included this statement in their relocation policy:
      TAX ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS
      Payments for tax assistance are not paid to you. Instead, the payments are calculated and included in your W-2 as withheld taxes paid by the Company on your behalf. The tax assistance is then submitted to the proper government agencies on your behalf.

    This was great ,thank you. Anymore expenses you can share regarding a NYC relocation?

    • @BenjaminPreston
      @BenjaminPreston  Рік тому +2

      Oh, my first relocation was to NYC! I was told there’s always a “NYC tax” for new residents which basically means there are always more costs when you move to the city. The big ones to consider are things that all hit within the first month of you being there-subway pass, safety deposit on an apartment, extra living expenses you might not have had initially (laundry, etc), and lifestyle costs like shoes and durable weather clothes.
      Basically, the costs of moving to NYC are the ones in the video + lifestyle costs that you usually don’t account for.

      @@BenjaminPreston thank you. I appreciate your help. One last questions. Is the broker transaction fee required if you find your new place without a realtor. I make take a job there and have began looking for places but I see this mandatory 15-% fee in most places. Would you mind expounding on that. Also, does this apply for multi family apartments or just privately owned. Oh, and what are your thoughts/ pros and cons for living in NJ and commuting w/o a car as I see some amazing places and prices in NJ? Thanks a lot. Oh and my possible work will be in Hudson area. Bye for now 🫶

      @BenjaminPreston  Рік тому

      @@Jeneawhite. i just tried responding to this and it didn't go through... so sorry if you get this twice lol. I didn't have a broker fee on my apt when i was there, so it's definitely possible to get a good one without paying the extra 15%. The easiest way to avoid an extra fee is working with the apartment directly instead of going through a middle person, if you're able to do that. I was on the UES when i was there, so im biased to Manhattan... BUT I had a lot of friends who lived in jersey (hoboken and jersey city) and LOVED it. The Path is very convenient too. It's a better bang for your buck i think. Definitely doable without a car, then you can always do like a Zip car or something if you want to go drive around jersey on the weekend.
