- For once, Shashi Tharoor is at a loss for words. Asked what he calls the burgundy red election vahanam (vehicle) he is perched precariously atop during a drive-through campaign rally in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram, he pauses and then laughs. “It’s a pick-up truck that gives me a chair and enough space for a couple of colleagues so that we can wave to the public as we drive by.” It’s hot and humid in Kerala’s capital city and all that protects Tharoor from the sun and rain is a makeshift tarpaulin over his head and a compact air-conditioner next to his perch. Having won three consecutive Lok Sabha elections for the Thiruvananthapuram constituency on a Congress ticket, Tharoor, 68, is a veteran at campaigning. He waves furiously to pedestrians, passing and stationary vehicles and curious shopkeepers, his face lighting up with a charming smile as the breeze tousles his silvery-grey mane. His pilot van has a band of percussionists belting out drum rolls to herald his arrival, while another van blasts songs in his praise on repeat. Unlike in 2019, when Tharoor breezed through his re-election to the seat with a high margin of votes, this time round, he is feeling the heat of the battle and is being made to toil harder.

Sashi doesn't have an answer to why cong and CPI are one under India block but they are separated in Kerala. I think chandrasekhar is better than Sashi in performance. Manipur is not a recent happening, many many riots have taken place during the Congress ruling. Finally if sashi could not get what was promised by BJP for trivandrum, even if he is elected this time, he will repeat his failure....he is defeating himself...
ST is just blah blah after personal glorification. With all the fanfare when he came, what disruptive thing did he do to catapult Trivandrum above other cities. Verbal diarrhoea of his like his boss stating that he can convert potatoes into gold.

You are surely ill-informed. I was recently in Trivandrum ( as I still call it) and I found the city to be really a charming clean city - and for that you have to give some kudos to the sitting 3-time MP!!

Sasi Taroor as MP for Thiruvananthapuram for fifteen years is a total flop for his non performance even during Kerala was in distress viz successive national calamities, Kovid pandemic, economic blockade against states by the central govt etc.Anti incumbency is very strong against Tharoor.Pannian Raveendran is the poor man's candidate The LDF candidates's victory is s certainty because of the support of the common people,the downtrodden, the marginalised sections of the society etcCongress stand on CAA, UAPA Uniform civil code Kashmir issue, electoral bonds issue will adversely affect the Congress Candidate.

Sashi is a corporate lobbyist like mehua. He wants only an MP ship to just complete 5 years in paliament perenially under Congress ticket where no one questions what he did for the constituency. Like wise alll these years, people of TVM or the opposition parties never quetioned him about his contribution to TVM. Now when Mr.Chandra shekhar a Tech Brain came to TVM as a Candidate for BJP , he raise the question what contribution the previous MP did for TVM and also he projected and convinced the voters his development programmes for the Constituency along with Central governments past 10 years successful economic development programmes which backed India to reach the 5 th position maong the economic poers of the world. Educated People naturally started thinking about Chandra shekhar's words and they have a very high hope that their constituency will attain some economic target as per chandrashekhar's vision and missions, where sashi cannot offer any thing to the voters mere by saying Pluralism and some oudated historical thoughts,. So definitely, people will prefer Rajeev Chandrashekhar as their MP in TVM. sure.

I'm from TVM. Those who have written awful comments about DR. Tharoor don‘t really belong here. Dr Tharoor has been successful as both MP and as a global leader. He will win here with vast majority of votes.
