The dissonance there is probably mostly caused by the fact that the back sprites were originally from Red/Green, which uh...if you look at some of the front sprites in those games, does a good job of explaining a lot of the back sprites lol
All of the back sprites are from Green/JP Red version, and since Mr. Mime had VERY good front sprites throughout the four versions, Mr. Mime did NOT have a funky back sprite. That's why Pokemon like Sandshrew get back sprites that look more like their Red/Blue counterparts. I guess the developers figured most people would look at the front sprites more than the back sprites, because it's the same with G/S/C and their single set of back sprites!

Psychic, Barrier, Light Screen and Substitute. Truly peak Mr. Mime before the Dark times; though this moveset does work in Fire Red and Leaf Green up to the post-game due to the scarcity of Dark types in those remakes.
In the case of a choice between Seismic Toss or Body Slam, Seismic Toss is the better choice because you don't have to set up the badge boost glitch. Also the way I see it set damage is better than attempting for paralysis luck.
