    I used to think that “rich” foods and eating out at restaurants was the ultimate goal of getting wealthy. The rich life now is enjoying the burst of flavors from plant foods like never before. It’s heavenly!

    The biggest surprise for me is how QUICKLY your taste buds adapt. After two weeks, I had no cravings for junk food or sugar.... and I have been a chronic over-eater for most of my adult life. I've struggled because I bought into the "I can have a 'treat'' now and then" mentality of moderation. Its a lie, folks. lol. This solution has been hiding in plain sight, thanks for making this video, I'm living proof its painless to retrain your tastebuds. :)

    Wow, this is a GREAT video!!! This is SOOO true! We got SO used to eating the junk, and now, going back to the basics..... My daughter says I am eating GROSS foods now.... whole food, plant based! But I've told her, I am eating the BEST food on the planet now! I do have to say, it IS an acquired taste though, if you aren't used to it. It doesn't take very long either!!! Just a few days, and you start craving these REAL foods!!!

    Thank you for this. I am just a few weeks in and I am really trying to like beans and lentils and I am not going to lie--it has been a struggle. I finally don't crave sugar or eggs or dairy. But I am on the struggle bus with liking veggies/beans and feeling like eating all the things I am supposed to. It is hard to be a vegetarian who really does not like many vegetables. I have 100 more pounds to lose so have eliminated nuts and seeds for now. But I really enjoyed my pistachios and almonds and walnuts on my oatmeal. I really appreciate how hard you both work on your recipes and I know I need to just keep trying them. I told my own children that you have to try a new food many times before you like it. I am taking that advice myself but sometimes the food just causes almost a gag reflex. Sorry. I am working my way through your videos and again...thank you so much for all you do.
    BTW--my hubby and I were up along the North Shore of Lake Superior (in MN) this weekend and I picked up multiple garlic rocks--all for FREE!! Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas?

      I find that rice is easier to like than heavier whole grains. And it’s all about finding sauces, herbs and spices that you like.

    This is what needed to hear, I keep falling back into rich food because my family is not on board with me. I just got to bite the bullet and give it five days of clean food. Thinking about a juice fast for sure. I also need to set some rules for my environment. Thanks Dillion for this video. I needed it today. BTW I am excited about your recipes just got to cookbook bundle.

    The food we eat changes our tastebuds. Starting the day with a breakfast salad is very effective due to that it requires less willpower than eating a salad after long day or even at lunch. And on top of that it makes us crave healthier food choices and less unhealthy ones.

    Well said! You have captured the Western diet and the problems associated with the cyclical health issues, not to mention the sick narrative shoved down our throats by the food companies and big pharma. Thank you for your excellent explanation of kickstarting/reset of our tastebuds! 😊

    I contemplated going to true North, but I didn’t want to do a 30 day water fast come back from it and relapse into the same sort of environment. I feel mentally ready even in my current environment without going away and this was just what I was looking forward to basically Come up with some motivation and strategy to reset my taste buds. I’ve heard that it takes about two weeks to get over salt and sugar taste buds and as long as a month to get over oil and savory tastes. I definitely find myself lacking after a sufficient calorie very healthy vegan meal and I am eating starches, but I find myself reaching for the Process hotdog vegan style or nuggets or things like that and I have to cut those.

    • @WellYourWorld
      @WellYourWorld  7 місяців тому

      Yes it takes time and can be done without going away, but it can also be hard when you're just starting out. At the end of the day, you want to make sure you are good and full pretty often at first, because you do not want to feel like you are depriving yourself of food. Keep at it! And keep the junk food out of the house entirely if possible.

    My cousin used to get up in the morning and cook 2 chickens for breakfast--one for herself and one for he husband. They would eat a feast of chicken and waffles and eggs, etc. for breakfast every morning. Eventually my cousin could not stand for her feet to touch the floor. She was diagnosed with severe gout and passed away within months from a rare pneumonia after being on a respirator for several weeks. A few years later, her husband passed away. Bothe were only in their 40s.

    Your taste buds pick up the delicious nuances in food after you go WFPB. I don't care for most restaurant vegan food because it's too salty & oily. Once you get used to eating oil free food it's kind of gross when oily food coats you tongue & mouth.
