I stumbled upon this doing a search for some new jazz music and found this group. These young ladies are phenomenal! Really like the cool jazz / funk sounds from the 70's!
🤣 original commentor has no experience in sax. She was good, not great. Her lung capacity needs to improve, her scratchy points were an extension of just that. That is the only quirk I have with her. She will be great with a bit more practice.

Speaking as a pretty nonstop funk aficionado, its never really stopped being a thing. UA-cam's simply made it easier to find it after it stopped getting radio play. Living in there states since the 90's I've always managed to find healthy funk scenes, especially in the southeast like Georgia

Some cool musicians come out of Japan, if you haven’t come across Kanade Sato i can tell you you’re in for a treat. Plenty here on UA-cam abouut her. Her father was a drummer & she started playing at the age of 4, now a pro drummer.
I just discovered this group on my Playlist and been listening to it on replay for ten minutes. Absolutely phenomenal. The sax player is..well I have no words cert one of the best I've ever heard in my 57 years. Consider me a fan for life
Holy Moly! I just discovered this group by accident yesterday and oh man, I'm lost for words! These are 4 incredibly talented young musicians who have the funk in their souls. This is top level funk at the highest level! Jeez these girls play like veterans who've been playing this kind of groovy funk for 20+ years. This is a truly extraordinary group and I have to say I'm totally hooked now to their incredible sound! Pure genius!!

This is real awesome music playing for sure. The lady with the sax blows the house down while the drums and base cut such a deep groove in the track. Then incomes the keyboard to smooth over and fill in the gaps with some super sweet melodic patches. Man what a performance.
Gosh I love these grooves! Drums dry and steady but stylish, a solid base complimenting the drums and driving the song, a simple funky guitar and keys, and a killer saxophone. Absolutely beautiful!

Still harder to find the music these days in the U.S. It kind of reminds me of some of the other popular music from the U.S. from back in the 70's and 80's also. Music that got less and less play here but was still making hits in the UK through the 2000's. Impressed me to be honest. The same goes for Jazz artist from the 40's and 50's. The music lived on to a larger audience but on a different continent.
Jazz music is not as popular as it was in the 20s and 30s, but its still relevant.However, I'm from a big city I'm from New York and they have jazz outlets in Brooklyn and Manhattan as well Radio stations that play jazz. Jazz music itself has evolved into different genres of music.@@rapid3638

Super smooth groove, ladies! I really liked the saxophone soloing because it didn't get too screechy and high pitched like most tenor players seem to insist upon doing. Good show!

This is real awesome music playing for sure. The lady with the sax blows the house down while the drums and base cut such a deep groove in the track. Then incomes the keyboard to smooth over and fill in the gaps with some super sweet melodic patches. Man what a performance.

Gosh I love these grooves! Drums dry and steady but stylish, a solid base complimenting the drums and driving the song, a simple funky guitar and keys, and a killer saxophone. Absolutely beautiful!

It kind of reminds me of some of the other popular music from the U.S. from back in the 70's and 80's also. Music that got less and less play here but was still making hits in the UK through the 2000's. Impressed me to be honest. The same goes for Jazz artist from the 40's and 50's. The music lived on to a larger audience but on a different continent.
Jazz music is not as popular as it was in the 20s and 30s, but its still relevant.However, I'm from a big city I'm from New York and they have jazz outlets in Brooklyn and Manhattan as well Radio stations that play jazz. Jazz music itself has evolved into different genres of music.@@rapid3638
