What is in the water in Asia with all these phenomenal female drummer's, bass, guitar, horn brass keys... My gosh.... As an American I am honored they play western music and do it so well. Are there any American or European bands playing traditional Japanese or Chinese music. Ha ha. No. May be a good thing. But this group is amazing, all the players make me smile. One thing to have chops and another to groove and get into the pocket. They do.... amazing solo. really excellent.
They’re raised from birth to be exceptional in every way. Also, learning a musical instrument at an early age has been scientifically proven to help a child’s brain to wire up better than a basic ABC education.
Actually… yes, I am a foreigner that is classically trained in Japanese shamisen. We do exist, more than you might think lol. Also most Western and Eastern string instruments have their origins from the oud and other guitar like instruments from Egypt and Turkey that travelled all over the world via the Silk Road. Most of them share some kind of common origin, the best part about music is that it’s art that transmits easily between different cultures.
Senri!!!!! She looks like she weighs less than 70 lbs soaking wet. But when she plays it sounds like a rubber band Yeti bangin on the skins. Love the tone on the guitar. So many great jazz guitarist's have a tone that sounds like it's inside a shoe box, locked inside of a suitcase, and 2 blocks away. All the smiles the players have are infectious to us the smiling audience watching and listening in awe. Well done Ladies!!!
@@ВладимирВолгин-ь1ы very nice! The Jazz Avengers do these shows for fun. They each have their own projects and bands and recording sessions and often appear in other bands and in each others' shows, etc. They write music, too. Every one is a supremely talented musician and performer.
What a phenomenal band. Thank God Japan has always been there to keep jazz alive. Don't quote me on this but I think it may be the only country left where you can find a lot of young people interested in the genre.
Interestingly, Japanese vgm and it’s often jazz foundations (think about it, how else can you loop a tune and not get sick of it) has resulted in a whole young jazz fandom because of bands like clever Aussies ‘The Consouls’ who play vgm as jazz. Kids even love bossanova because the band streams their gigs live and fans choose the tunes. So the jazz has gone West to East and back again! The vgm hits the nostalgia for the kids and the live jazz is exciting to experience - even for we oldies who didn’t play the games. The music itself is good.
What POWER!!!! The drumming absolutely out of this world. The beats so precise. Simply astounding. And to see smiles of ecstasy on at least two faces while they were burning it up brings me even greater awe.
Just before 2:00, anyone notice the sixteenth triplet flurry while barking the hi-hat thing the drummer did? It was just so beautifully played like warm butter dripping down on cinnamon toast. Such a strong, even, musical player she is. I just love the musical mind she has. her sense for knowing what is best for the song approach and her fiery drum fills and solos make her one of the most vibrant drummers on the scene today.
Wow!!! Phenomenal. I love the way music and art unite people in the most inspiring, wonderful, and meaningful ways. What an honor and privilege for us to enjoy their creative work and expression.
She IS very good. But she's not quite to that level yet. She is not to the point of telling a story with her solos, she's showing off her chops and has good ones too but it is not musical in it's own right. NP wrote most of Rush's songs. It's a very different level of connection to the music. The famous YYZ solo is lyrical. It's not the hardest to play but very few (if any) can build something like that from scratch.
