How could you think this video was “kinda boring”? It was absolutely fascinating to hear your story, Emily! I’m so glad things turned out well for you (and Ed, and Cheyenne, and the rest of the household)! You’re always a delight to watch and listen to!
Rafaela Pirillo I've found women bully worse than men. Especially being a younger woman at an office type of job. At the previous clinic I worked for, the older women were the absolute worst. Rude, arrogant, and very passive aggressive
Older women don't like being bossed around by younger women in management position. My wife gets walked all over all the time by her co workers that are older because she's a manager with less experience and younger age because she actually knows what she's doing and shoes initiative. People are just dickheads

Hi Emily! I used to work at a PetSmart too, and let me tell you, that's where matches are made. One of my coworkers married a customer too and another has been dating her boyfriend who was a customer for almost two years! So if your looking for love, go to PetSmart. 😂
One more thing Emily... Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my email about whether to get a bull, pine or gopher snake. Your expertise means alot to me and I am happy to announce that I got a beautiful male Het Albino San Diego Gopher snake this past weekend. Thank you again!!! ✌✌
I just have to ask... what was the deciding factor between a bull and gopher, specifically? I've been on that fence for a year now and I still can't decide which route to go.
This was not boring at all! I fell in love with snakes especially BECAUSE they are so easy to take care of. I often am pretty tired from work - often doing night shifts and weird sceduling - and i love to just see my corn snake chill in his favourite cork bark tube. I lived with cats and dogs quite a while, realising, i was allergic, too but it didn't really click to get a reptile. I continued with rats after i left home, and took care of them for around 5 years. Never got into birds, actually. But once i got a snake, every other pet seems less interesting now xD Thank you so much for sharing your background with us! This was lovely! Lots of greetings and a happy future to you all (Emily, Ed, Cheyenne, and all the other lovely reptiles there)
Great Video Emily! I became a wildlife educator after working as a zookeeper for some years, essentially I ended up having as many animals at home as I had in my run at work so started visiting schools that where to far away to visit the zoo
Daniel Johnstone I was fortunate to learn everything on the job as I was not a great student I started cleaning pens at a pet store at 14, then working for another reptile educator at 18 (I remember wagging school so I could work, taking animals to other schools😂) ended up working in several zoos before starting Wicked Wildlife

I ended up doing a double take when I heard you had a bird named Oliver. Kind of a funny coincidence for me that you owned birds who were named "Cheyenne" and "Oliver".
I absolutely adore hearing about you and Ed! I’m also very happy you can do what you love, you two bring so much joy and knowledge to the world! Your passion and care show through and through!!!

Hey Emily, I wanted so badly to geek out with you during this video! I’m in south central MN if you ever want to get together and chat about how amazing and satisfying it is to build independent educator careers and programming based on our passions. I saw you were very recently in Owatonna, just 30 minutes away from my hometown.
I can’t get over how cute your story with Ed is! Y’all met over your passion, he’s been a big supporter of your career, and he loves the animals as much as you 💖
Yay! Ask and you shall (maybe) receive lol This was an awesome video, Emily. And no way was it kind of boring, that was really awesome! Thinking of sending some cool stuff to your PO box! What I wanna know next is, I remember a while back in one of your videos you mentioned that one of your snakes thinks of your hand as food since it kept associating your hand with food-- I wonder if you could possibly make a video about that (or if someone in the comments could help me out with how to feed a snake properly without it thinking you are food) *love your videos as always!!*
If you only approach your snake to feed it, it'll associate you with food and go into "food mode" when you open the enclosure. As Realism said, use feeding tongs. Presuming your snake eats in its enclosure, you can get a snake hook to take it out of the enclosure - that way, it'll think "oh, I'm outside, I guess it's not food time?" and calm down after a bit. If you take the snake out frequently, it'll stop associating you with food. You can wear a thick long sleeved shirt and some gloves in the meantime if you're worried about getting bitten. If you want to read up on the psychology behind associations, the search term is "classical conditioning". Lastly, always wash your hands before handling, to be 100% certain that your hands don't smell like anything vaguely edible. I also recommend watching Emily's video on how to tame an "aggressive" snake. Even if your snake is food driven rather than actually aggressive/defensive, the same methods apply. Good luck!
My ball python never really got rid of that hand in cage = food association even after 4-5 years of me owning him and strictly feeding in a bathtub. (He was cage-fed and rarely handled in the previous 15 years) My solution ended up being a poster tube. 😂 I'll put it in front of his hide spot and in the event he strikes he just harmlessly grazes the tube. It also gives him something to fixate on until I can "unlock" him by picking him up.
You go, Girl!! I am so glad you followed your dreams and are doing what you love. Thank you for sharing your story! I'm sorry how you were bullied here and there, but I think they were jealous of how smart you are. Keep on keeping on!
This video was perfect timing. I've been in a rut lately with my life, after my original plan got ruined and now with my husband getting out of the military in a couple months I'm running out of time to figure things out, but I've been following you and your channel and realized this is what I wanted to do and have been doing alot of research and I'm now enrolling in a vet tech program just to give myself a little push in the right direction. So I'm still in a rut but at least I'm being productive lol.
My family absolutely loves ur channel my 4 year old is already learning so much I want to thank you and tell you ur doing incredible with everything I'm from pa and I'm excited for ur facility to be up and running.
Was not at all boring and as I am new to your videos in 2021, it was really interesting to find out more about your educationaly background. And how you met Ed too - so sweet how he has supported you and shares your love of reptiles. May you have many happy years together.
Omg am I the only one that just noticed that she is almost at a 1m subs. Emily am going to congratulate you now for hitting a million subs because by the time am here in your next video, you will probably have 1 million subscribers. I mean you channel is awesome so why wouldn't everyone that comes by your videos fall in love with reptiles and your personality. I want you to know that your the reason a stopped being afraid of snakes. Because of you I have fallen in love with reptiles and your channel.❤️
You and Ed are an amazing team! This honestly is the first reason I got hooked on your UA-cam channel by watching your relationship and how courteous and kind you are to each other. Learning about the snakes came second to me because they’ve always scared me. Watching you both and learning from you is so much fun. I want to come visit your zoo sometime and hold a few snakes. You make it look so fun. It’s a blessing your cave job didn’t work out so we can all be a part of your world and you can teach so many more people! Thank you so much for your way of being in the world and such great examples!!!

It's only watching this video again 2 years later that I've noticed just how humble & shocked you still sounded that things took off and became successful the way they did. And that you were able to have your dream job whilst living & loving life & having many pets to love too! You have earned this success and happiness, revel in it. Massive congratulations & a huge well done 👏xx
It's really great how determined you are, and how motivated you are in accomplishing much You can definitely see the passion you have for animals through such work and effort It's hard to maintain in the animal careers and takes a lot of dedication too
Thank you so much for sharing! My husband and I got married very young and started a construction business (he is a fifth generation plasterer). We now have 3 & 5 year old daughters and I am a stay at home mom. They (and I) love critters and your channel has been an educational inspiration to them! I used to raise cockatiels, canaries and parrots and now we have a variety of pets including my 17 year old Timneh. We recently decided to pursue our long time desire into snake ownership as well, thanks in part to your channel! Can’t wait to visit you guys in the near future!
I totally get what you're saying about the cave job. I had a job at a zoo that I loved, but the owner was terrible and I had to leave. It's a major bummer when you have a job you like but you get driven away.
You are truly an amazing person, you educate and inspire so many people including me! I have worked in a field I’m not really happy with and a person who treats me poorly and watching you and seeing you push to get to where you are working with animals and making people days better has really given me the ambition to start looking to make a change! Thank you Emily and Ed!!
I appreciate you sharing your own experiences with us, it give me a little inspiration and enables me to enjoy your channel and all the fascinating content you have to offer, Thank You.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! You are one of the most inspiring people I’ve ever come across. Who knows how many people have gone from being scared of reptiles to loving and caring for them in any way they can because of you. You have been a very big part of my journey from super scared of snakes to helping a little garter snake across the road and relocating a tarantula and dreaming of one day owning one of those cute little hoggies. Thank you so much for sharing your passion, it is contagious and does so much for the reptile community as a whole. And tell Ed thank you for encouraging you! He is amazing as well!

Emily - you are just such a gem of a human and I have learned SO much from you. Thank you for ending up where you are today. I can’t wait to come to the facility this summer. All the hugs and love to you and the whole fam!
Always a pleasure to see Cheyenne in the beginning
You’re amazing, Emily. Lots of love to Cheyenne too 🤣❤️

"Then i found the perfect job for me. A management position at a cave" . Im sorry but i lost it. Out of context this sounds too funny 😂😂
I ended up doing a double take when I heard you had a bird named Oliver. Kind of a funny coincidence for me that you owned birds who were named "Cheyenne" and "Oliver".
@cheyenne Oliver XD
That's funny
Emily is a vampire that doesn't age confirmed.

Hey Emily,
I wanted so badly to geek out with you during this video! I’m in south central MN if you ever want to get together and chat about how amazing and satisfying it is to build independent educator careers and programming based on our passions. I saw you were very recently in Owatonna, just 30 minutes away from my hometown.
I can’t get over how cute your story with Ed is! Y’all met over your passion, he’s been a big supporter of your career, and he loves the animals as much as you 💖
Yay! Ask and you shall (maybe) receive lol
This was an awesome video, Emily.
She made a video about equipment every reptile owner should have, search for that one. She talks about some feeding tongs in that video.
realism, logic hey thank you for that! I’ll search it later
God: U can't have dogs or cats
Emily: K , it's fine, I'll get an alligator then
God: . . . *bruh*
God: no this isn’t how your supposed to play the game

This video was perfect timing. I've been in a rut lately with my life, after my original plan got ruined and now with my husband getting out of the military in a couple months I'm running out of time to figure things out, but I've been following you and your channel and realized this is what I wanted to do and have been doing alot of research and I'm now enrolling in a vet tech program just to give myself a little push in the right direction. So I'm still in a rut but at least I'm being productive lol.
We’re are all the subscribers and notifications squad
My family absolutely loves ur channel my 4 year old is already learning so much I want to thank you and tell you ur doing incredible with everything I'm from pa and I'm excited for ur facility to be up and running.
Recently found your channel & love watching. I had parrots, snakes, turtles, scorpions, dogs & cats growing up. Glad you made it with what you love 😘
It's just so nice to see someone after working soo hard to reach her goals❤
Was not at all boring and as I am new to your videos in 2021, it was really interesting to find out more about your educationaly background. And how you met Ed too - so sweet how he has supported you and shares your love of reptiles. May you have many happy years together.
Emily: What other animal can you feed once a week or once every other week and get away with it
Me: fish
And, they have those, too, but, you can’t really pick them up and hold them
8:07 CHEYENNE AT YOURE WEDDING OMG I LOVE THATTT
Emily, I have not seen one boring video on your channel. I simply love listening to you are learning from you. Keep up the good work.
My grandparents met because they had the same breed of dog 😭
lol.
Why sad face?
😂
LoL
🤣
Omg am I the only one that just noticed that she is almost at a 1m subs. Emily am going to congratulate you now for hitting a million subs because by the time am here in your next video, you will probably have 1 million subscribers. I mean you channel is awesome so why wouldn't everyone that comes by your videos fall in love with reptiles and your personality. I want you to know that your the reason a stopped being afraid of snakes. Because of you I have fallen in love with reptiles and your channel.❤️
Emily, you are my favorite UA-camr. You inspire thousands of people.
6:13 Cheyenne seeks attention and kisses. There were many times before and many more to come.
Cheyenne should have her own channel.
Yasssss
Yaaaaaaaaaa
Congrats on 1 million subs 😁
Edit: I just realised that the reptile stickers in the background are charmander and sqwrtle
I absolutely LOVED this video. Thank you for sharing your life/career history with us!!
Rip Janet the bullsnake.... anyone else in 2019?
Did she die? 😳😢
@@pc6054 Yeah, he died, i think it was some months ago :( I dont remember what Emily said exactly but before Brad and Peanut's batch of eggs were found out to be Brad and Peanut's, its mentioned Janet died some months back I believe
Me she died sadly 😞
When? I didn’t know until I read this comment! Rip Janet
Obviously we’re in 2019 you donut
It's only watching this video again 2 years later that I've noticed just how humble & shocked you still sounded that things took off and became successful the way they did. And that you were able to have your dream job whilst living & loving life & having many pets to love too! You have earned this success and happiness, revel in it. Massive congratulations & a huge well done 👏xx
0:46 *me when I saw this upload notification*
That's sounds bad
:p
Allen Jay me too
It's really great how determined you are, and how motivated you are in accomplishing much
You can definitely see the passion you have for animals through such work and effort
It's hard to maintain in the animal careers and takes a lot of dedication too
Thank you so much for sharing!
French Horn players unite! My daughter and I were both horn players (she's playing mello in her university band) and we both LOVE your videos :)
Emily, you are the freaking coolest! I appreciate your work so much and I love watching your videos :)
;2019: *Casually mentions being in touching distance of bats*
viewers in 2020: *internal screaming*
Right?!!!! LOL One thing the world learned is Bats are friends, NOT food!!! lol ;)

*OF COURSE.*
*OF COURSE you met Ed at PetSmart and fell in love over parrots.*
*You two are the cutest*
U litterally just copied and pasted
i literally found another comment that had more likes than this one. great job on copy and pasting. i feel bad for the 53 people who got tricked by ur comment.
Stalactites have told on tight, and stalagmites have to grow will all their might!
That’s how I learned it when I was 6 in my first cave tour 👏🏻✨👏🏻
And for me, I remember stalactites have a c for ceiling while stalagmites have a g for ground
Everyone: Talking about how cute Emily and Ed are, Emily's allergy, etc.
Me: Emily without her glasses-
