I don't know if anyone else has noticed but I sure have. Thank you Mimi, for not having any commercials before this practice. You are the BEST. Your approach is spiritual and lovely. ❤
I've noticed this too! It's why I keep coming back to this video (also because Mimi's explanations and the adaptations she's made to the forms are excellent) ... we do this practice for finding peace and balance, the worst thing possible is to have that interrupted by an advertisement. Thank you so much @MimiKuoDeemer - this video has been a gift to my life and wellbeing!
This is the best 8 brocades tutorial on UA-cam. You explain very clearly how to breathe during the practice and do it in a slow pace so that everyone can follow. Thank you so much for your teaching

Soooo happy to have found you. So hard to find a Qi Gong video that’s not too slow, not too fast, shows the movements perfectly and at the same time explains both the practical and spiritual! Just perfect! Thank you so much! 🙏🏻❤️
@@MimiKuoDeemer Hi Mimi, thanks for your wonderfull videos! Can one do a Brocade like the turn of the wise owl separatelly without doing the others first? Thank You!
@@MimiKuoDeemer Hi! Love, love, love all your videos, your soft voice is so calming and soothing. I only have one question, when I do the last Brocade, when i start to rise i get a little dizzy. It's that normal? I only started practising the 8 Brocades 2 weeks ago. Thank you so much for your kindness in sharing all your wisdom with us!🙏
I like how you don't really care if people are walking by, it makes me think that if I can get to this place within myself then I can transcend what is happening around me.
Om of Mom I agree I get easily distracted that I cannot think what my next movement is and I lost track of my breathing lol I need to get myself in that state where any distraction doesn’t matter.🙏

As a yoga instructor with aging students I have incorporated these movements into my classes with and have had wonderful response. Very graceful,very fluid and very beneficial to me and to all those who I touch. Thank you for sharing...
this is great to hear, Richard. I also integrate yoga and qigong in my practice and teaching. The softness and spherical movements of qigong works as a very beautiful compliment to some of the more linear asanas.

Hello, thak you for your videos. I did this workout last year but in 15-20 days. I heard that 8 Brocades Qigong tighten and slimming body as pilates. Really this workout lifting, tighten and slimming body as Pilates? I need effect pilates, I need tighten and slimming full body, is this workout enough for me? And when will be first result?
Thank you for your answer. My heart Health problem and I need chi kung or tai chi workouts for weight loss, because I cannot do cardio, fitness and etc. Which workout of chi kung have you lost weight? This 8 broadcast have weight loss? How much time must do this workout, every day or every week? When did you see the results and how much pounds?
Hi mimi i was suffering from acid reflux for some time with no help from western doctors and i could not eat much i was very weak and even nausea more of the time . but after learning the 8 brocades from your videos with clear explanations after 100 days i am now able to eat well and sleep better and my acid reflux has cure by itself. i just want to say thank you i hope people will get to see more and know about ancients exercises like the 8 brocades .at first i was abit lazy doing it but i force myself and after two to three week i begin to feel the benefit.and now when i don't it one day i feel something missing . thanks once again you have help alot of people with this video
Hi Raymond, it's certainly not easy to continue and be disciplined; well done! I'm so touched to read that the 8 brocades has helped you with better sleep and stronger digestion. These conditions can indeed be hard for western medicine to treat. I'm so glad to hear that qigong and this practice has helped you. I'm so grateful to know that a practice like this can bring greater health to you and others. Wishing you well in your continued practice!
Apple cider vinegar helped my reflux. Just drink it 15 min before any meal. Thanks to Dr. Eric Berg www.drberg.com/blog/a-simple-fix-for-gerd-and-acid-reflux (please take caution anti acid medications - they can cause Kidney Disease)
Ah. The Precious Set of 8/Silk Brocade. I used to do these during the 1990s; they gave me the energy and stamina to keep up my hectic lifestyle, then I moved into a temple in India and no longer had time. Now I am old I am looking to resume these sets to get my mind and body back in shape. I heartily recommend these to anyone who wishes to improve their level of wellbeing. They not only work but work spectacularly. Thanks Mimi Kuo-Deemer for the upload. Very nice.
Almighty Bob hey. Temple life lends itself to spiritual activities. I spent my available time fully engaged in service to my Gurudeva. Time spent with Gurudeva is too precious to use for anything else. The opportunity may only come once or twice in a lifetime, if that. I hope my choice of priorities hasn't disappointed you Sir.
I didn't ask to judge, I was genuinely curious. Sorry if I'm misunderstood. But anyway, I'm happy that you had an opportunity like that ! May I ask how many years did you spend there? I've just started on the Path couple months ago, trying to get all the information from books but there are so many! Starting The Mind Illuminated now, do you have any suggestions? And my first Tai-chi Qi-Gong class is in less than 20 hours, so wish me luck.
Almighty Bob Hey. No problemo. I stuck with Qi for a few years and then spent two years in India. After returning to the west I neglected Qi but now getting old I want to take it up again. I'm not forgetting Krishna just feel the need to be more energetic. My advice is, if you have a teacher, follow your teachers advice. Books and UA-cam rarely answer your questions, and you may have plenty. All the best for you and your goals.
tarun krishna So you returned back, and continued your hectic life, maybe 9-5 job again? Or your life changed somehow? How was your chi levels without practising? Does it make a noticeable difference? Yeah books and youtube rarely help but it's sweet I ran into nice people like you. I'm also not sure which way I should go. I also do yoga and the essence of life is different there with chakras not the chi. Some people say it's dangerous to mix both tho but I dont know
Its grate to see this movie. I really appreciate your gifting while many are making money out of these things. I mean nice to see human like you in this era. I follow and acknowledge many my friends.
I must say I purchased the class for this, and truly enjoy all of those classes. Mimi, I fell in love with all of your verbal attention to the spiritual connections! Much gratitude!
Dear Mimi, today was my first day to start this practice ever. I'm ex-dancer who has been suffering from Adrenal Fatique & Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Your presentation and voice are so soothing and calming. After doing this my legs and entire body released a lot of physical pain. Thank you so much. I will continue with you.💚💚💚
Thank you so much for your teaching with grace, aplomb, and the perfect voice instruction for the 8 Brocades. You are an inspiration to millions of people, and making a profound difference in our lives, Mimi!
I'm getting on a bit and am very stiff from arthritis and needed something to get me moving again. On a whim, I bought your dvd a while ago and have been practising for a couple of months. It really is a gentle method. I am a lot looser since I've been doing it. A "side effect" I wasn't expecting was for my brain. I feel so much more relaxed after my practice, You are an excellent teacher, you teach the practice without making it all about you as so many do. Thank you.
I practice Tai Chi, but have not done a lot of separate Qigong study. I stumbled on this video and quickly realized that a number of this movements are very similar to movements I've already been doing to warm up before practice! I have added the 8 Brocades to my every day routine. Thank you for this easy to follow video.
I am dealing with constantly feeling fatigued and sluggish, my shoulders, neck and back are stiff as I don't exercise enough due to social isolation and have a thyroid issue which exacerbates the muscle stiffness. I came across this video 2 days ago. Today is the second day I've done the 8 Brocades. My energy levels are way up, my body is less stiff, my posture has improved and my shoulders have dropped. They felt like they were up to my ears with tension before, now my neck feels long. My leg muscles aren't what they used to be, so the wide stance is a struggle, but I will get there and do what I can for now. I have vowed to take these 20 minutes every day to center myself and to get my Qi flowing again. Thank you so much for this!
Mimi, thank you for bringing this practice to the public, one of the best videos I have seen. Your explanations, energy and the little breaks of amusement are wonderful. This has been at the core of my healing journey, I recommend to it everyone who will listen
Dear Mimi, Just got your Qigong Box Set and it is great. Planning on showing the Eight Brocades to my QiGong class at the Senior Center in Brewster, Mass. You have inspired me, since I began following your instructions for the last few years. Our group has been devoted to this practice and I feel like we both have made a contribution to their physical and mental well being. Thank you Ray DiPietro
Great Qigong teacher; one of the few great ones on You Tube, actually. Excellent physical demonstration; lovely clear speaking voice, in both English and Chinese...Mimi is relaxed, professional, not pushed or nervous...She has a sweetness that is gentle and easy to be with. I love it. Best all-around Qigong lesson on You Tube, from my p o v. :-) . Thank you, Mimi!
I always come back to this practice with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. I absolutely love how you explain how the chi is moving through the body and what it creates. You make QIgong feel very healing and calming to me. Thank you so much for this video.
This is a tremendous presentation of this ancient classic qigong form. Your comments are right on, bringing in the rich traditional thoughts of Daoism, and dao yin, as in "leading and guiding the qi." You exude being so fully in the Flow. Body - Breath /Energy - and Mental Focus as One. Bravo!
Thank you john! Really kind of you, I love studying Daoism, especially early Daoism. I also enjoy study of the five phases and yin/yang theory into qigong as well. Great site by the way!
Hello Dissidenten Af Trotts (Vindilen) -- I tried to respond to you but couldn't reply to your question directly. Really glad the practice has helped your back pain after just 10 days, and that you feel more open in your joints and whole body. In terms of a DVD, I only have a yoga DVD for sale at the moment (it's on my website www.mkdeemer.com/dvds.html). Hopefully one day I'll also get around to doing a qigong DVD. To be honest I just really love qigong, and thought it would be nice to put some of the practices I do up on youtube. I had no idea that so many people would watch them, but I'm glad to know you and others are able to do the practices and enjoy them for free. Happy to share, and will hopefully put more on sometime soon. Blessings to you too!
I really like the peaceful way you practice. It allows me to slow down. These meditative movements are very helpful for more balance and strength. No matter if after work or in the morning it should become a daily routine. Thank you very much for sharing! Great job!
This is by far the best video on qi gong I've ever seen, and overall just the best exercise, thank you so much. Please make more qi gong videos. I've also just found your website, will definitely purchase some of your qi gong videos there.
Am Grateful to you for your Teaching. Practise with you help daily before doing meditation practice. Am 70 years and a really supported by your Teaching. Thank You
My favorite, too, the movement and the insights. Thank you, Mimi. Coming back again, marvelous comments, with interested onlookers. Thank you, Mimi again.
I learned about Qigong and the 8 brocades at a martial arts retreat earlier this year. After that I was determined to envelop those exercises into my daily life. I tried a few different videos and this is my favorite. I follow this video every morning that I can.
I have it memorized with a little of my own influence. I do it early in the morning three days a week. It helps me mentally and physically. I can tell a difference in the way I feel on the days that I do it and the days that I don't.
Very nicely done. I am a Taijiquan player and naturally Qigong are part of my practice. I am also a Chi Runner (running form based on Tai Chi) and I seek out good demonstrations of taijiquan and qigongs. Your Eight Pieces of silk is, in my opinion, one of the best short examples I have seen. I will definitely point others to your link. I my opinion it is a very good starting point for those considering Qigong as an addition to their practice Thank you for sharing.
Some people have some knowledge and practice, and want to share on UA-cams, but, their consciousness is demonstrated by their voice, and the more chatty/noisy minds, I can NOT listen to them, as they do not help with relaxation and FLOW. Your VOICE (and consciousness) is so exquisitely tranquil. Thank you for your level of consciousness, and being a true practitioner (not panicky and trying to remedy anxiety and tons of stress). It’s worthy to try and remedy all that, so no judgement, and I PREFER to tune in to someone who is, well, TUNED IN. Thank you! I love how you handle all of the people going by with their rushedness and the one guy who peered into the camera for awhile, because that’s how LIFE REALLY IS ! You are such a good example of steadfastness and FLOW, in nonplussedness.
I've been doing this qi gong form with you for a little over 6 months now and my health has so tremendously improved, i can never thank you enough for making this available and so gracefully at that best of luck with everything
@@ariefbudianto8391 I have more energy in general, I've increased my mobility and flexibility in ways I honestly didn't expect, I also feel much more grounded mentally. it's wild the difference it makes, but it took me a really long time to get used to it, and I didn't see changes come quickly, they were very slow and subtle. if you want to practice this form, my only advice is to keep at it and pay attention to as many details of what's going on in your body and mind while you do it, it's the only way to get better
I love starting my day with this practice! I don't consider myself fully dressed unless I've 'put on' my 8 piece brocade. I love the strength and peaceful smile you get, it really helps me to relax into the practice. You're so informative, too! :)
I really appreciate this particular video. After having three kids, I've found myself struggling in a lot of physical and emotional areas. Following this video for several months has restored a sense of peace and balance to my life.
Thanks to Young lady Mimi Kuo-Deemer , you have performed 8 Brocades Qigon very clear and slowly , I am an Asia guy , over 85 years old but I am still strong enough to help my love lady every hard works on her big garden , cause I praticed Tai Chi , Qigon , yoga over one hour and took working over 30 minutes every day . Your 8 brocades forms were little different from other Master but I can tell you that yours were pretty good and better , fit to every , special for women , thank you against .
Thank you for such a lovely video! You have the most relaxing, soothing voice. I didn't even mind the folks entering and exiting the frame, I was so engaged. I've saved this and will return to it again!
Hi Mimi, thank you for this video. I love your serenity and calmness. And the passengers and your smiles. I am a coach driver and chi gong helps to keep my balance and energy. I am practicing also some of your practices and I enjoy them. Thank you and greatings from germany :-)
I love the way you integrate the emotional, spiritual and physical aspects in your explanations. And i love the people crossing in the streets. This is a real life! Thank youuuu
Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Thank you for the wonderful video. I see your gentle chi with the passer-bys and had a chuckle with you. Much appreciate you preserving this moment in time for the qi-gong practice. Namaste.
I've been checking out instructional videos on Baduajin. I used to practise many years ago but needed a good video to remind me . . . his is certainly the best one I've seen. Thank you.
I practice it in the morning just after waking up, then later when I arrive from work. I am very grateful for Mimi share it with everyone, each day is different from the other, enjoy very much this practice, makes me feel much better, focused and strong. Thank you from the heart and mind.
I just want to say how beautifully this was done. I find that I am annoyed by the men who so rudely got in the way of your video. You were so adorable as this happened, you smile as if, "Consider the source." I find it was very rude of them. I follow this every day, until I can learn from memory. Thank you.
Thank you Mimi, for this post (and the 5 elements - I do them together for a 30 minute workout). I feel so much more relaxed, limber and less stressed. This helps if I get stressed and need to chill. I also notice relaxation in my neck and shoulders, which is chronic for me. This has also helped me deal with a difficult time of transition where I had to make difficult decisions and deal with consequences. I really notice when I miss a day! I like your commentary, particularly where you inform how the movements benefit. I used to do T'ai Chi 20 years ago and regret not completing the course. I was training in Yang Style Short Form and benefited so much from it. My husband found this video - he is a Shiatsuist. Finally, I love the sporadic interruptions! Particularly the man at 2:57! I would love to know what he was saying!
Hi Mimi, I like your style and interpretation of the 8 brocades. I learned from Dr Jwing Ming but I love all the various style interpretations. 8 brocades is ancient in orgins so many styles have manifested throughout the ages. Thank you for explanations of each specific movement and their relationship to organs and emotional states. Beautifully done. Much Qi, James
Thank you james, I'm glad you enjoy the inclusion of the relation to the organs with the practice. It helps me when I consider the effects at the element and organ level as well. I'll try and check out the form you've learned too!
Lol, indeed Mara was definitely there!! It was very amusing. My husband was behind the camera, and so the man sticking his head in was actually saying hello to my husband, who is Caucasian. When I looked back through the footage I couldn't believe how perfectly framed his head was in the picture! Glad you found it all amusing and not too distracting :)
I remember doing this one day. It was amazing! I haven't done my tai-chi in almost 30 yrs but now that I'm hitting 60 I'm looking forward to relearning my forms. Thanks for sharing!
Your moments is very grateful and your voice is very soothing. I just found you on youtube and sure will follow you for more. Yes I agree with someone before me about those passer by. They showed no respect to personal space eventhough they might have the right to walk by where you were. Very rude indeed.
I love this! I discovered it whilst really sick in bed with suspected coronavirus fever in Feb 2020. As soon as I started to do this I felt better and the virus cleared within days. If only more people would discover this miraculous healing art I don't think the virus would have been so devastating. I return to it every time I feel unwell and it always works to boost my immune system. I also LOVE the comedy aspect of the passersby - after all laughing is good medicine too. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!
Hello Mimi, i already memorized the movement thru watching your exercise. One thing I do not like to get rid of is the soothing voice and positive words you are saying. So relaxing. Been doing it for 3 weeks. A 15 mins gift to myself everyday. Many thanks for sharing your video
i LOVE how you integrate the emotional, spiritual, and philosophical, along with the physical benefits. thanks for giving us the chinese for it too. (i'm learning japanese now, and will later get to chinese, which actually fascinates me a little more-but my son moved to japan and married a japanese woman and i have japanese grandkids, so... ^__^). yours are the most layered and therefore most interesting qigong videos i've seen. i also like how you smiled (nearly laughed) after the boy walked by at about the 2:00 mark. that shows me you practice what you preach :) p.s. - i bought your Qigong and the Tai Chi Axis book-in kindle so i always have it, and also in paperback because i do that for special books . thank you, and best wishes!
Thank you Mimi. Your video of the 8 Brocades is a favorite for me. I appreciate your explanations of each pose and love the fun energy you have while doing them. Cheers!
The horse stance is killing my legs. It made me sweat like I was going on a jog, and my head feels good. The last exercise gave me that numb feeling but besides that I feel warm all around my body and pretty energized. Thank you.
@@MimiKuoDeemer Thank you for that very good advice. Most westerners think we have to take it to the limit and wonder why we get hurt! I am happy to become your student. Your energy is strong but sweet! Balanced Earth!
Funny, I have been using my time during social distancing learning about chi kung from you-tubes (this version of 8 brocades is my favorite) i used to do Tai Chi and now that I am even older I am learning chi kung!
Wow. Really love ❤️ this one. , soft ,soothing voice, Even it’s in a public place, and one man passed in the front of her Enjoyed this lesson. 🙏. Will come back ,, and practice. ,,,,
Thank you for the beautifully executed practice. I've just started with Qigong and your traditional movements and explanations really help to get me in the mood whilst following your guidance. I'm doing these brocades every morning and evening and hoping that my muscle aches and sleeping problems from working on a computer all day will ease off a bit. Thanks again :)
Glad you enjoy the practice James and are finding it helpful to follow along. The brocades are a very balanced set of movements that should definitely help with aches and pains from sitting at a computer for long periods of time. Hope they continue to help bring greater health! :)
Hi Tara, I tried to reply to your question about how many times to do each brocade but couldn't reply directly. Basically 5-9 repetitions is pretty good, it's up to you really - every day can feel different. Hope that helps!
+Tibor Bana I was told that it's series of 12 (36 repetitions each is the best), so I'm also unsure. Nobody explained me why is that exact number important... although I think - the more the better. I guess 24 is the "safest" :D
Ivana Morrigan 3, 4 and 7 are special numbers all around the world. The eight brocade exersice is a simplified version of a 12 step taoist qi gong exercise. Taoists observed that repeating exercises different times achieves differrent result. 4 and its multiplicatives repetition is good for health. 9 and it's multiplicatives repetition for reaching some spiritual goals. Budhists repeat their mantras 108 times 3x4=12 3x3=9 9x12=108.
Those are very interesting Qigong exercises Mimi. I'll add some of those Qigong exercises to my training routine for martial arts. Am a martial artist myself which am usually self-taught but am no expert at martial arts That's very impressive how well focused you are in this video practicing outdoors despite the distractions of people walking by and watching. I totally prefer to practice indoors. Keep up the good work
This is by far one of the best Qigong vids I have seen on UA-cam, do you have any plans to do more guided demonstrations? Maybe an extensive explanation of what qigong is? It is difficult to find such quality and practice on UA-cam...
Thanks Cesar, glad you like the video. I'll try and do more when I have a bit more time, trying to finish a masters program now, but after that's complete I will hopefully do more!
+Mimi Kuo-Deemer Very understandable, thinking about going into mine very soon once I finish my psych B.A. Good luck and keep the grit going, look forward to your future vids.
Yes, Mimi please do more Qigong videos. This is by far the most informative and inspirational. You are an absolute gem! In fact if you teach a class I would fly there at least once! Gratitude! There are a lot of yoga videos but not enough Qigong for westerners with such an enthusiasm for the health benefits.
Thank you, I enjoyed this video. Love how you connect it to the meridians. I'm a recent graduate in Zen Shiatsu and the 8 brocades we practiced regularly so its nice to have an further reiteration.( I can't help but giggle at the passers by and how you're just smiling along! btw I bought your new book! Looking forward to diving in. Thank you for sharing your passion.
Mimi, this has to be the best qigong video online, your instructions are thorough and truly clear with full explanations. It embraces all aspects of life. Thank you so much for this, it is all the inspiration I needed. Love and Light Llew
This is the first one I did ,I did it everyday until I mastered it. I go to the dam every morning and do it. I feel sooooo much better thank you you’re such a great teacher.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed but I sure have. Thank you Mimi, for not having any commercials before this practice. You are the BEST. Your approach is spiritual and lovely. ❤
💯
I noticed that, too. Amazing.
She's got it down perfect...and her ability to smile when folks walk thru AND she continue without missing a beat! She's awesome!
thank you Roxy!
Her smiling is gorgeous works out just perfect but she needs entirely dress up from inside out as bra ..and top to bottom

Ulitimate respect for carrying on when people walk in front of the camera. Despite distractions a beautifully demonstrated piece.

:) focus!
I give mimi a round of applause for not losing it and laughing at all those distractions. Very good movements and nice flow.
Wonderful, I'll also harness the power of both.
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, Mimi! Discovered this video in 2016 after giving birth and I find myself returning here in 2022 because the way you present the 8 Brocades is so helpful! Stay healthy and active!

Very nice.
tarun krishna you had no time in the temple? How so?
Thank you, I'm happy to offer this freely :)

I will continue with you.💚💚💚
Renee this is beautiful to read, thank you for sharing. I hope the practice has continued to ease your pains x
Thank you.
There are so many versions of Baduanjin out there . I have to say I love the energy of this one . Very well done . Thank you
Thank you art. That's very kind. I'm glad you enjoy it and thank you for watching.
I have also watched diverse versions and this is my favourite in tempo, dynamics, expression and explanation. Thank you, Mimi!
Thank you Mimi! The element of laughing is definitely seen and appreciated in this tutorial.. lol...Great voice over =)
Jacob Hoskins Thanks Jacob, glad you enjoyed the practice! Couldn't help but laugh when a guy stuck his head into the frame and said, "hello??"

What a blissful qigong practice! I feel myself great both physically and mentally! Thank you very much for creating and sharing it!🙏😃
Mimi, thank you for bringing this practice to the public, one of the best videos I have seen.
So much what I feel!
Thank you, Mimi. I so appreciate your simple but powerful commentary, and your lovely modeling of the silky quality of these movements. Many thanks.
thank you for your sharings Steven
I always come back to this practice with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. I absolutely love how you explain how the chi is moving through the body and what it creates. You make QIgong feel very healing and calming to me. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you Natalie, I am touched by your sharing. Stay in touch :)

Blessings to you too!
me gusto mucho tu video, haces un magnifico trabajo ademas estas en un lugar muy bonito
must see this: @2:57
jajajaja que gracioso fuee eso !!!
Mimi Kuo-Deemer it is very easy to relate to you, and clearly, you are familiar with TCM theory. I think a qigong dvd would be very well received.
Thank You
This is wonderful to hear. I am glad the practices are serving you
My favorite, too, the movement and the insights. Thank you, Mimi. Coming back again, marvelous comments, with interested onlookers. Thank you, Mimi again.
Amazing... Beautiful execution and voice over guidance. Thank you Mimi.
Thank you!
I learned about Qigong and the 8 brocades at a martial arts retreat earlier this year. After that I was determined to envelop those exercises into my daily life. I tried a few different videos and this is my favorite. I follow this video every morning that I can.
Wonderful to hear! So glad the videos are helpful and you can use them!

What is the current status of your practice? How has it benefitted you?
I have it memorized with a little of my own influence. I do it early in the morning three days a week. It helps me mentally and physically. I can tell a difference in the way I feel on the days that I do it and the days that I don't.
I know what you mean. I have to be at work by 7:30 a.m. I am struggling to complete the brocades in the morning.
Thank you Michael!
I am also a Chi runner and practice the 24form Tai Chi. Mimi’s demo of the 8 brocades is one of the best!
Your voice is a meditation in itself. This is excellent. Thank you for sharing with us.
Easy to understand for a Qigong newbie, I enjoy the explanations and your voice is absolutely beautiful! Thanks so much for this! :-)
So happy to hear you enjoyed this practice as a beginner :)
I've been doing this qi gong form with you for a little over 6 months now and my health has so tremendously improved, i can never thank you enough for making this available and so gracefully at that
best of luck with everything
How do you feel that your health have been improving?
@@ariefbudianto8391 I have more energy in general, I've increased my mobility and flexibility in ways I honestly didn't expect, I also feel much more grounded mentally. it's wild the difference it makes, but it took me a really long time to get used to it, and I didn't see changes come quickly, they were very slow and subtle.
if you want to practice this form, my only advice is to keep at it and pay attention to as many details of what's going on in your body and mind while you do it, it's the only way to get better
This is wonderful to read. I am truly happy your health is improving :) keep up the practice
I love starting my day with this practice! I don't consider myself fully dressed unless I've 'put on' my 8 piece brocade. I love the strength and peaceful smile you get, it really helps me to relax into the practice. You're so informative, too! :)
❤ not fully dressed until I put on my 8 piece brocase 😊
I really appreciate this particular video. After having three kids, I've found myself struggling in a lot of physical and emotional areas. Following this video for several months has restored a sense of peace and balance to my life.
I am really happy to hear that practicing this video has been so supportive for you! Keep up the amazing work x
…hopefully the people walking by/curious will be inspired by the positive vibes of your movement …the gentle strength of this vid inspires…ty

Thank you for your beautiful, and wholesome Art. I enjoy it daily. I am very grateful. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you! You too!

Thank you so very much Mimi, for sharing this gentle, wonderful Qigong exercise. Your calm and clear teaching is such a gift💝!!
Wonderful! I am so happy to hear you are enjoying this class :)
Thank you jurgen- so glad you enjoy them.
I admire your calmness even in the cameos presence. Nice presentation.
I love the way you integrate the emotional, spiritual and physical aspects in your explanations. And i love the people crossing in the streets. This is a real life! Thank youuuu
You are so welcome Lala!
Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Thank you for the wonderful video. I see your gentle chi with the passer-bys and had a chuckle with you. Much appreciate you preserving this moment in time for the qi-gong practice. Namaste.
You are so kind thank you for taking the time to share this with me
Thank you Mimi, love this practice. Notice such a difference in my body and mind when completed daily. Thank you x
I've been checking out instructional videos on Baduajin. I used to practise many years ago but needed a good video to remind me . . . his is certainly the best one I've seen.
Thank you.
Thank you Jon! So glad you like the practice.
love this practice. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. i deeply appreciate it
The onlookers crack me up. You're amazing. Great instruction and very soothing voice. Beautiful. Thank you

Thanks for watching!
I practice it in the morning just after waking up, then later when I arrive from work. I am very grateful for Mimi share it with everyone, each day is different from the other, enjoy very much this practice, makes me feel much better, focused and strong. Thank you from the heart and mind.
Alexandre Bismarck Ramalho your very welcome. Thanks so much for taking the time to write!
I just want to say how beautifully this was done. I find that I am annoyed by the men who so rudely got in the way of your video. You were so adorable as this happened, you smile as if, "Consider the source." I find it was very rude of them. I follow this every day, until I can learn from memory. Thank you.
Aw, thanks Deborah! It was hard to keep a straight face when people walked through the frame :)
I don't think they were trying to be rude, it was raining and they were just trying to stay dry and interested.
Tamara Sloot Hi', How many reps you do from each? Thanks!
Much Qi,
James
Thank you james, I'm glad you enjoy the inclusion of the relation to the organs with the practice. It helps me when I consider the effects at the element and organ level as well. I'll try and check out the form you've learned too!

Excellent routine to wake up to and great narrative to go with the routine! Thanks for sharing this classic.
You are very welcome, thank you for being here and practicing with me :)
Mara sent quite a lot of temptation to break your presence in this demonstration..great job holding it..its very amusing that its all on video.
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching!
Thank you!
When I started doing this exercise (04:30 - 06:35) by your video, already about for 3 weeks I have never had a headache.
Great to hear!
Your moments is very grateful and your voice is very soothing. I just found you on youtube and sure will follow you for more. Yes I agree with someone before me about those passer by. They showed no respect to personal space eventhough they might have the right to walk by where you were. Very rude indeed.
any updates??
I love this! I discovered it whilst really sick in bed with suspected coronavirus fever in Feb 2020. As soon as I started to do this I felt better and the virus cleared within days. If only more people would discover this miraculous healing art I don't think the virus would have been so devastating. I return to it every time I feel unwell and it always works to boost my immune system. I also LOVE the comedy aspect of the passersby - after all laughing is good medicine too. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!
Thank you for sharing this - it can be very powerful indeed and a great immune boost.
I have been using this form for a number of years, most enjoyable thank you
Wonderful!
Dear Mimi,
This video has helped me so much I keep coming to it. Thank you so much for sharing this, it's really appreciated
Hi Yaiza. You're welcome. I'm glad that it's been helpful to you and thank you for watching it.
Hello Mimi, i already memorized the movement thru watching your exercise. One thing I do not like to get rid of is the soothing voice and positive words you are saying. So relaxing. Been doing it for 3 weeks. A 15 mins gift to myself everyday. Many thanks for sharing your video
You're welcome, Josh. Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad that you enjoy the video.
i LOVE how you integrate the emotional, spiritual, and philosophical, along with the physical benefits. thanks for giving us the chinese for it too.
I am happy to learn by your comment she has a book I will look for it. Thank you
Mimi, Thank you for your calm, joyous presence in this easy to follow presentation of 8-Brocades.
Oh I just loved the passerbys! Made me chuckle during my practice and into the day. Thanks curious friends! And thanks for the video Mimi!
Glad you enjoyed the folks passing by! Made me laugh, too. Thanks for watching!
I think the people photo-bombing her video and MiMi suppressing the giggles is quite funny!
I found it fuuny too!
Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback John. Remember to work at 2/3rds of your maximum, so maybe dial things down a bit :)
@@MimiKuoDeemer Thank you for that very good advice. Most westerners think we have to take it to the limit and wonder why we get hurt! I am happy to become your student. Your energy is strong but sweet! Balanced Earth!
This is my favorite qigong video. The verbal information about what, why and how is very helpful. Really beautiful.
Way to go Mimi, getting 4 million views. Just shows how much we really enjoy this practice, Thanks so much
Haha Thank you Lin!!
Your voice is calming, and watching the movement is relaxing too! Next I will try it myself. Thank you!
~~~Beautiful and funny location. :-D
I am glad to hear you enjoyed the video - I hope your practice is going well now!
Felt a difference right away, thank you so much for sharing!!
That's fantastic Kim. You're welcome for the video, and thank you for watching.
Hi
Your qi gong is the best I had ever learnt! Simple and powerful!
+Spanish Jo Thank you so much, I'm so glad you find them accessible and helpful!
Can u be my teacher when you are in Singapore
Hadn't practiced this one in a while and felt moved to do it this morning. What a wonderful, peaceful journey it is. Thank you For your sharing
You're so welcome! Glad you enjoyed your practice today :)
I have recommended this version to my students during our “social distancing”. Thank you so much for providing it!
Funny, I have been using my time during social distancing learning about chi kung from you-tubes (this version of 8 brocades is my favorite) i used to do Tai Chi and now that I am even older I am learning chi kung!
you have a lovely way, so easy to learn from you, beautiful spirit - thanks
Wow. Really love ❤️ this one. , soft ,soothing voice, Even it’s in a public place, and one man passed in the front of her
Enjoyed this lesson. 🙏. Will come back ,, and practice. ,,,,
Thank you for the beautifully executed practice. I've just started with Qigong and your traditional movements and explanations really help to get me in the mood whilst following your guidance. I'm doing these brocades every morning and evening and hoping that my muscle aches and sleeping problems from working on a computer all day will ease off a bit. Thanks again :)
Glad you enjoy the practice James and are finding it helpful to follow along. The brocades are a very balanced set of movements that should definitely help with aches and pains from sitting at a computer for long periods of time. Hope they continue to help bring greater health! :)
Thank you for this teaching Mimi Kuo-Deemer, It was a pleasure to listen to you.
The best Video about the 8 Brocades on UA-cam 🙏🙏🙏 Thank You
Thank you!
Absolutely best 8 brocades video here!
Hi Tara, I tried to reply to your question about how many times to do each brocade but couldn't reply directly. Basically 5-9 repetitions is pretty good, it's up to you really - every day can feel different. Hope that helps!
+Mimi Kuo-Deemer I was taught that for health purposes multiple of 4 is the correct repetition number. So 4 8 12 16, usually 8 or 16.
+Tibor Bana I was told that it's series of 12 (36 repetitions each is the best), so I'm also unsure. Nobody explained me why is that exact number important... although I think - the more the better. I guess 24 is the "safest" :D
Ivana Morrigan
3, 4 and 7 are special numbers all around the world. The eight brocade exersice is a simplified version of a 12 step taoist qi gong exercise. Taoists observed that repeating exercises different times achieves differrent result. 4 and its multiplicatives repetition is good for health. 9 and it's multiplicatives repetition for reaching some spiritual goals. Budhists repeat their mantras 108 times 3x4=12 3x3=9 9x12=108.
+Tibor Bana I know about the repetitions of Buddhist mantras, it's just that I was unsure about Qigong. Thanks :)
The position number two is in the wrong place. It's the third and the third is second.
Those are very interesting Qigong exercises Mimi. I'll add some of those Qigong exercises to my training routine for martial arts. Am a martial artist myself which am usually self-taught but am no expert at martial arts That's very impressive how well focused you are in this video practicing outdoors despite the distractions of people walking by and watching. I totally prefer to practice indoors. Keep up the good work
+Nahum Dyer Thanks so much for sharing such kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
And response to the people walking through, is wonderful
+Foxy Courdery :)
Blessings and appreciation for you.
Thank you for having shown me the 8 Brocades.
This is by far one of the best Qigong vids I have seen on UA-cam, do you have any plans to do more guided demonstrations? Maybe an extensive explanation of what qigong is? It is difficult to find such quality and practice on UA-cam...
Thanks Cesar, glad you like the video. I'll try and do more when I have a bit more time, trying to finish a masters program now, but after that's complete I will hopefully do more!
+Mimi Kuo-Deemer Very understandable, thinking about going into mine very soon once I finish my psych B.A. Good luck and keep the grit going, look forward to your future vids.
Yes, Mimi please do more Qigong videos. This is by far the most informative and inspirational. You are an absolute gem! In fact if you teach a class I would fly there at least once! Gratitude! There are a lot of yoga videos but not enough Qigong for westerners with such an enthusiasm for the health benefits.
Thank you, I enjoyed this video.
Love how you connect it to the meridians. I'm a recent graduate in Zen Shiatsu and the 8 brocades we practiced regularly so its nice to have an further reiteration.( I can't help but giggle at the passers by and how you're just smiling along! btw I bought your new book! Looking forward to diving in. Thank you for sharing your passion.
Mimi, this has to be the best qigong video online, your instructions are thorough and truly clear with full explanations. It embraces all aspects of life. Thank you so much for this, it is all the inspiration I needed. Love and Light Llew
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoy it so much and that the explanations are helpful!
This is the first one I did ,I did it everyday until I mastered it. I go to the dam every morning and do it. I feel sooooo much better thank you you’re such a great teacher.
This exercise really helps my often stiff muscles and makes me feel more relaxed! Great tutorial thank you for sharing
