Rest assured, the Australian caprice's are tonnes better than this. It's to the point where none of the issues that he has mentioned exist in our car. Except for the weight but hey, it's a luxury sedan and cruiser. Great video though nonetheless. It's sucks to see how America always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to holden vehicles. These cars have their common problems. My car has 140,000 miles on it. I’ve had to do a starter, strut bushings are common failures, plus misc maintenance. They are as reliable as any other LS based platform in my opinion. 2014 is the first year of the refresh, it has more desirable interior and a column shifter.

Wow coming to this video really late. I was under the impression that the Caprice had much more comminality with the Impala which it resembles. Just need to find a wholesale source for tires.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Only thing that I found was the rear springs are discontinued but I’m sure something else fits without much trouble. In fact after digging a bit it seems the body panels are pretty cheap same with the windows. The hood is well over $1k for whatever reason tho.
The reason the caprices interior is poor quality was to save money and this car wasn’t meant to be sold to the general public so obviously the interior isn’t gonna have many features or has cheap materials
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Honest question. Where the hell can you find one of these things that has civilian interior? Every single one I find has a horrifyingly ugly interior with a busted up center console.

Good to know about the windshield! That’s a lot less than I paid!
I live in Australia and my father first owned a 2002 5.7L V8 model, then a 2010 (V6) model of this generation and now he owns the 2015 (V6) model of the Caprice. The chevy SS is also another example. I just wish GM could've continued the manufacturing of these Holden vehicles.
Great to know about the difference between Australian Holdens and American Holdens! I wish we had the Holden selection that Australia did. I would love to have a Ute with an LSA blower and a stick!
It’s ls3 obviously u can find parts any where
It’s actually an L77, which is a 6.0L but is LS3 based. LS3’s are 6.2L and have slightly different internals.
In the dfw i paid 400 for ultimate glass to replace my front windshield 😂
Swap the radio out 🤷♂️
Good idea!
Hey Mick, what wheels are on your sled? Thnx,I wanna get some different wheels maybe u can help me out
The wheels in this video are C6 Z06 18/19 staggered.
The expense of the body parts and lack of ability to drift makes me not want that car thanks it was on my want list.
That’s a bummer you changed your mind, but there certainly are downsides!
@MickelsonRacingChannel it's ok the ppv wasn't my first choice it was down a list a few cars. I want a 2010 chevy camaro ss in manual. If I can't get that for the right price I'll settle for a base hemi dodge charger if I can manual swap it to a normal stick shift. I'd consider a trailblazer ss also.
@@neoknight14215 I had a stick 5th Gen early on, it was a fun car. I daily drive a trailblazer ss for a couple years also, I really liked that car.
I’m a 16 year old there isn’t any caprices in my state I’ve finally found one 2014 caprice 169,000 miles. This will be my first car is there any serious problems at those miles and are they reliable
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Im going to go look at it tmr the thing that worries me is the high idle hours it has 8656 is that a lot and 169,000 should I get it or is it a bad choice I need advice I can’t risk it breaking on me
@@GTZ3Z I am not in a position to provide professional advice. However, if I was not able to risk a vehicle breaking I would not purchase the vehicle.
Also the DoD (cylinder deact junk) wipes the lifters/cam out so highly recommend deleting that, or you will have to do that at some point. Matter of when not if
Bluetooth is not removed on all of them just some years.
That’s good to know!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel No problem. The Bluetooth works in my 2014.
Wow coming to this video really late. I was under the impression that the Caprice had much more comminality with the Impala which it resembles. I was hoping to swap my 9C1 to RWD using Caprice rear subframe and engine / driveline parts. Still a modern RWD sedan with LS power has to have some redeeming qualities. Just need to find a wholesale source for tires.
Wholesale tires would be key!
What exhaust do you have on it?
It has long tube headers, 3” dual X-pipe exhaust into mufflers. Custom built for the car, not a kit.
$1400? You don’t have insurance?
I am fully insured
@@MickelsonRacingChannel well then you wouldnt be paying 1400$ for a body panel after being rear ended...
@@alphaink3843 oh good deal, thanks!
I work for a dealer and none of the parts minus body are an issue tbh
I agree, all the chassis parts seem to be easily accessible as they interchange between other models.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Only thing that I found was the rear springs are discontinued but I’m sure something else fits without much trouble. In fact after digging a bit it seems the body panels are pretty cheap same with the windows. The hood is well over $1k for whatever reason tho.
@@charmingmander331 I have coilovers which are available all over. Windshield was a bit spendy, otherwise it’s not terrible.
Does his dog like cloths seats? find out press here

@2:07 - 2:14
Good catch!
Found one for 6k the passenger side fender is dented
Nice find!!!
The reason the caprices interior is poor quality was to save money and this car wasn’t meant to be sold to the general public so obviously the interior isn’t gonna have many features or has cheap materials
That’s a good point!
Mine came with ss dash
@@rushyplays1678 nice! That’s a good upgrade for the 2014+.
A tire slayer, you say?
Sold...
@@plynwow haha same!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Honest question. Where the hell can you find one of these things that has civilian interior? Every single one I find has a horrifyingly ugly interior with a busted up center console.
@ there’s a 9C3 (nicer factory interior and console) an hour from me right now, FB Marketplace.
Well then I'll be over with my flatbed to just take that one off your hands. Scrap is up right now so I'm sure you'll be fine with the payment.
I quite enjoy the car, I think I’ll keep it 😊
My dad don't have problems drifting his caprice ppv
That’s pretty sweet!
only downside is no manual gearbox
A factory manual transmission was available in Australia, but never in the U.S.A.
Some guy on the newcaprice forum did a manual swap using G8 and Camaro parts so it's doable if you want one in a manual
@@seanchristian572 I’ve seen that, pretty intriguing.
bro bought a v8 4 door and hates the weight 😂😂
Do I?
can i replace the dash with a apple car play
I’m sure there is a way to accomplish anything, however I do not have the answer to that.
Nothing beats statesman and caprice! Ive had mine for 20 years no issues and i dont want any other car..... im in australia with a statesman 2007.
That’s awesome!
Can you get this lifted
I love my 2015 PPV
I really enjoy my ‘12!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel they are fun cars with tons of potential over time the market will grow for us
@@mackzaddydre I agree! Great performance for the value!
Maybe stop beating the crap out of the tires if you want them to last longer 😂
That’s a nifty idea, I didn’t consider that…
Can you get parts from Australia
You fixed it ?
What's the rim size and off set
Factory C6 Z06 wheels. 18/19 staggered.
Where do you buy parts?
Online generally. eBay, Facebook groups, etc.
Can you do a Holden conversion?
A person could do a Holden conversion, but I will not be converting this car. Some folks see it as Holden built so it should be Holden. I see it as Chevrolet purchased and branded so I prefer the Chevrolet.
He doesn't even look after it now so him doing a holden conversion is pointless given the fact he brought it as it was and is complaining about it , obviously he didn't do his research before buying it , if he wanted a nicer model then he should have brought the nicer model, not buy a car designed for a specific purpose then complain because he got it .
Oh they maid body parts very easy nowadays
@@aryongoff11 that’s good!
We in Saudi love this car everything you said including entertainment center we can solve it here give me 1000 bucks and you love your car again 😂
Dang, that’s great to know!
Damn bro what happened to your ceiling
It’s lived a full life
made in australia thats why plenty of parts here.
Yep!
If you wanted luxury, why did you buy a PPV??? Want to change the interior? Change it with a regular Caprice Classic Impala interior and stop whining.😢
What a great point, I’ll have to consider that!
Looking at 2014-2015 or V1 CTS V or G8 for next car thanks!
Awesome! Let me know what you decide on!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel surely!
G8 interior is a direct swap
@@OBSessedChevy yes it is! I have recently added GTO seats actually.
I want 1. And they are cheaper than a G8
Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t. Depends on the year, trim, and condition.
