Thanks mickelson I’m definitely getting me one and turn it into a Chevy caprice zl1 definitely enjoyed this video
Caprice ZL1, I like that!
Caprice ZL1, I like that!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel just put a lsa supercharger and a little bit of some zl1 interior and you already got the rear end and that beautiful sound in cam and you’re good to go
@@garyhood9992 I’ve really been debating on what blower you use. LSA vs. Maggie vs. Procharger. It’s rough! Roots blower is probably the best for these heavy cars.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel go for the lsa
This is just one man's opinion....but as someone who works for a city whose police department bought a whole fleet of these back in the 2010's.....I concur. These are going to be fought over at auctions as they're retired from active use.
They are a great value for what they are!
Thanks for the weather data!
All for you!
Almost 5 years, pure bliss. 6 2’ with two teen boys that love it. Hellcats? Few rolls never dig(2:92 still) once surprising. Owner said it was in break in.. love it more!
That’s awesome! I couldn’t agree more, it’s a great value!!
I'm not a fan of most newer cars, but I'd buy one of those. Congrats on 1k.
Thanks Cleatus! It’s definitely a good value car and pretty fun!
Awesome!! Love the " Impalor"
Haha heck yeah! Thanks Tom!
Used to have a 2014. It was a fun car for the money and I liked the 6L80 transmission
That’s Awesome! I really enjoy the car, great value!
I agree it does sound amazing
Yeah it does!!
Alright, I subscribed today after seeing you with Mortske. Guess I'd better binge your videos and see if I made a huge mistake. Lol.
Heck yeah! Thanks for tuning in!
Me too
I've had my Caprice PPV 9C1 6.0L V8 a little over a year.
It has 100,000 miles.
I've put 5,000 miles on it.
Each mile has been a thrill.
I love the handling and acceleration.
I have only ever used non-ethanol petrol in it.
So far I have had
DOD delete
AFM inactivated
Stage 1 Cam
LS3 heads
Rotofab AI
-Dynotuned-
Also
-DroneMobile Security system
-new radiator, new tires, and a new front bumper.
That’s awesome! You’ve done a lot to the car, I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
The stance is sick too
It sits pretty dang good, a little low but it looks too good to change it.
A hidden message in an exhaust pipe! Wow! That is very clever! Reminds me of the proverbial "message in a bottle"! Beautiful Dog, Zeus! Looks to be a very happy dog, too! Ruthie B. Howard 8-31-21 Today, I became the newest member of your UA-cam family! BIG BELLY REBUILDS and TRUCKING

@@MickelsonRacingChannel Welcome! Hope you like our channel as well. Thanks! Ruthie B. Howard 9-1-21
Great video. Sounds good
Thanks! It sure sounds pretty great!
Hey, I'm looking at a 2013 on an online auction where the description states "low pressure valve core leaking". Any ideas on what they could be talking about? ac? Thank you
Sounds like the low pressure Schrader valve on the A/C in my opinion.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Thanks!
Fellow new ppv owner here please tell me you have a clue to finding the operation of the engines temperature
Hey man I’m trying to find some tail lights for the 2014 caprice v6 version lol can you help me out at all?
I would go on Ebay, or the Caprice Owners group on Facebook. They have lots of stuff available there.
Nice! Sounds like my buddies G8....almost😆
Hahahaha that’s awesome!
You should have left the extra load tires on it. They lock down much better.
Love that your first name is AUGUST!!! Our nine year old shares your first name! RBH 8-31-21
Such a rare name!!! Too cool!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel Yes, sir! It really is! RBH
Any did a successful radio (din swap without a Kahn kit)?
The factory radio is re-programmable for Bluetooth, GPS, backup camera, etc. most will go that route. The only radio swap I’ve seen is a Kahn kit. I have not seen a basic aftermarket radio swap in these cars.
Awesome burnout 🤘👍😁
@@JimBuffalo haha thanks
The trunk is spacious AF too
Yeah it is! I can fit my drag pack wheels in there with room to spare!
Just got my stall put in mine. Def gonna need some drag radials now.
Heck yeah! I need a stall bad! What did you end up going with?
@@MickelsonRacingChannel i went with the circle d pro series. I went with it because they custom build it for your setup. Takes about a month to get it but its worth the wait.
@@boostbeast8731 I better give them a call
@@MickelsonRacingChannel its made the biggest difference of anything ive done to the car. Just cant get traction now even with rear tires at 20psi.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel yeah circle d has the 6l80 stall figured out. Ben is the guy i talked to and was super friendly and knowledgeable. He knew what i needed more than idid.lol
Are the bmr lower rear arms off of a camaro or chevy ss
5th Gen Camaro
The Chevrolet Caprice is super underrated. Sad they discontinued it.
I’m sad too, it’s such a solid car!
Im looking for one now
That’s awesome! Good luck with your search!
nice job
how many miles do they usually last ??
It depends on how you drive it, could be 10,000 miles, could be 40,000 miles. I’m usually closer to the 10 than the 40.
Are those Z06 wheels? Same bolt pattern as Caprice?
Yep, C6 Z06 wheels. 18’/19’s. Bolt pattern is the same, rears need some modification to the tub and control arm to work, plus a spacer to run 325’s.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel sweet! I just need to find me two sets of fronts and I’m good. Definitely appreciate the info. Good videos btw.
@@jermainebailey4167 thanks! Glad I could help! Look forward to seeing you with C6Z wheels on your car!
Is your bumper a stock bumper ?
Yep, stock U.S. spec PPV bumper.
I found one for 7.5k and has 100k miles. Should i buy?
If you like it and it’s what you want, that’s way less miles than mine!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel i would buy it but not sure on reliability and finding parts for it and gas is expensive as hell right now.
@@skradaddy gas sure is a huge expense right now…
What year zl1 brembo bolts right up?
5th Gen Camaro
One more question, can I use the stock caprice caliber bolts and do I need to change the brake lines, only ask because I have a Dodge Charger pursuit and nothing is changeable unless you swap spindles and suspension
@@jnasty9211 I am not 100% positive on those details. This car had the brakes on it when I bought it.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel ok appreciate it, cool build btw
@@jnasty9211 thanks!
They need to make parts and led strip lights for this car
There’s and idea!
Good dog Zeus
He is!
How much for the dog in the thumbnail? 🐶
That would be tough, my girlfriend wouldn’t go for it.
Best place to buy one?
I bought mine on marketplace and felt that I got a fantastic deal.
Police surplus/auction.. or general search
Will it last to 200,000 miles?
I’ve seen multiple over 200,000 miles.
It a discontinued police car = better engines than a "consumer vehicle" = "public servant" vehicles are build far superior... Only thing that will stop THIS vehicle from see 200k would be "idle damage" from the police department that used it
@@kanderson8219 idle hours are a killer.
@@kanderson8219 yeah the one that I was looking at i found out had 18,000 idle hours.
@@beankeeperben370 wwwhhooaaa... That's 50/50 unless you could/can get any service records.. because it could've been maintained very well.. or treated as "the government pays for all this. So just do the bare minimum" for record sake.. but still that's 2year of idle vs ???k miles of actual driving
I can’t find one I got mustang GT 2003
How’s that mustang? I’ve always wondered about that generation.
Mustang is powerful I love it, but I rather have a caprice I just got luck with mustang got a good deal on it. Mustang very light and quick, best thing about the new edge the one I got is the iron block hold more power
@@mxrris6583 definitely light and quicker! More of a sport car than a pig. Caprice is a pig, but is sporty for a pig. Mine is lowered on coilovers, wide tires, so it feels planted and sticky. I have never driven a stock caprice so I have nothing to compare it to.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel man either way you luck to have one 😂, I been wanting that for a while it’s to the point I’m finna pay a car notes for a Chevy SS 🤣, In Michigan them cars hard to find
@@mxrris6583 hopefully you find one! They are great value vehicles for the money!
LS car or the Aussie V8
Technically.... Aussie v8
NH snow?
As far as I know
Hi pup love ya
1-5… v8 rwd posi and badass!!
Heck yeah!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel now it needs a blower… 671 kind sticking out if the hood with a big ol injector sucking in the world!!
@@JAWSatBCPerformance It would enjoy that!
What the hell is going on with your roof on the interior ? That’s not rust is it?
The cloth on the headliner is missing. That is just the base with what is left of the foam. Looks trashed, but it’s not that bad.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel ohh okay. You know somewhere that can fix that and make it look brand new? I know a guy here in Dallas that can do it for literally any car, but I don’t think you’re anywhere near me.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel I’m looking at a 2015 Caprice PPV for sale in Fort Worth for 10k, has 78k miles and is the V8. Only thing is it still has the plastic bucket seats in the back and the center console is completely ripped out and looks terrible. I think I know a place that can replace the seats to regular ones, but I’m not sure about the console as of yet. One other thing that’s weird about the Caprice I’m looking at is that the multimedia functions are disabled on the screen, including the USB, AUX, and Bluetooth, and I think even the radio. This is super weird to me, does your car have this problem at all? If I absolutely have to I guess I could just rip out that stereo and install something aftermarket, but I’ve just never heard of a police vehicles multimedia functions being disabled. You think I should go for this Caprice? It’s the only one for sale within 200 miles of me and has good miles and has all the performance I want from it besides the supercharger.
@@Starnes214 any interior shop could do the headliner and for a fairly inexpensive rate. Tip for the car you are looking at, mine came the same way. G8 seats are bolt in, front and rear. You can also find a set of vinyl rear caprice seats to bolt in. Center console, G8 consoles bolt in and look nice. There is a company on eBay that makes a Caprice center console that looks okay, it’s what I have. Price is very good. Google White Automotive Media Services. They are able to unlock the multimedia functions of the factory radio. I will be sending them mine.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel thank you so much for all this info! I think I’m gonna go for buying it. Super excited now after seeing all this good news!!
my name is caprice lol
Haha
The price on these are ridiculous now at first they was fair at 4-8k now they 10k+ i would just get a g8 for the price these cost now
I don't need a reason I just need to know where to find one
Mine was on FB marketplace! Gov auctions are usually the place to pick them up cheap. I have a co worker that actually buys and sells them.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel I've never even seen one around here
@@CCAutoWorks really?!
@@MickelsonRacingChannel yeah really here you get charger, crown vic or Impala
Oof, that’s lame!
Cute Dog and nice car
Thanks!!!
holy shit bro wtf is up with all the cobwebs on the wheels
I take real good care of it 😂
Why didn’t you just buy a Vette?
I had a Vette
3 inch is not good on them, lacks the right back pressure
Awesome thanks!
Everything was great until I saw those exhaust tips
They are not my favorite. Car came that way when I bought it. I would like to change them, but have not found something I like enough yet.
@@MickelsonRacingChannel look into tips off of a newer BMW X5M. Similar shape to the cutout in the bumper.
Don’t buy them! Parts are hard to find and that LS isn’t a regular LS to by parts for if you want to replace or modify.
An LS is an LS. The engine is an L77. All standard LS parts will fit the L77. Body parts are difficult to find, yes, but I don’t believe that would constitute telling people not to buy them. Undercarriage and drivetrain parts are interchangeable with G8 and 5th Gen Camaro, which are both readily available and budget friendly.
OEM is hard to find because these cars are mainly used in Australia.. USA and others don't make parts because it for the "police" not public.. yes you may swap from other vehicles.. but that will make it no longer a caprice-ppv. It becomes a "transformer" a F'n robot in disguise
looks like it spends most of the time sitting
Mine does sit a lot. It’s a downside of having too many vehicles.
