The Bel Air is everything an EDC needs to be and nothing it doesn't. Absolutely the best value knife I can think of, half the price of its competitors (thinking specifically of the Bugout family) while outperforming them. AND I got mine on sale. Super happy with it.
I love the mini iridium. Would love to see a knife center exclusive. Everything the same but an upgrade on the steel. S35vn, M390, s90, magnacut. I'd even take 14c28n or 154 if it's still a budget knife.
Kershaw has a wonderful variety of high quality knives. Can’t believe I have never owned a blur. Every time I have it in my sights, something else comes along to get my knife dollars. I have the leek and a very old scallion so I do like Ken Onion designs. Thanks David.
I think for your big hardworking knife, you could have also included the Launch 16 and the Launch 7 into the mix. The 16 seems even more hard use than the blur and comes with an M4 blade. The 7 offers that longer blade length requirement at 3.75" long.
I love my Launch 6. I ground down the pointy end, got a deep carry clip, now it's my favorite automatic to edc. If you don't want to mod, look at the 15. Magnacut and nice size.
The Kershaw Leek and Blur are my two favorites for carry. I have a collection of Leeks, one in magnacut. Had a Blur so worn down so that it looked gray instead of black, but it was still functional. Replaced it with a new one in magnacut...🤣

Plenty of benchmades that lock closed. If you are looking for a lower cost knife that locks closed the original Civivi button lock elementum, button locks it closed as well as open of course. 14c28n so toughness is plenty for that thin hollow grind. I'm not much on china knives any more but I do gotta say that the original button lock elementum is a fantastic EDC knife and makes for one hell of a slicer!

Not even a mention for the dividend in MC?? It's a go to of mine for an easy to carry, slim, lightweight carry. IMO its a much better edc option than the Link, I do have both.
Only being able to pick Kershaw could be difficult in my State. They have a tendency to view spring assisted ones in the same as an auto, because the law is written so vaguely. But I really want the reverse tanto leek.

I have quite a few Kershaw knives and may need to pick up a few more! It seems like they've improved their heat treating protocols and getting the steels harder, and if that's true I might have to splurge a little.
Hello DCA & Thomas, love the content and presentation Gentlemen. I have a question for you about the pocket clips on knives. Other than half of my work jeans 👖 with shredded pockets, most of the time removing my knives is no problem. However, some clips like on my COLD STEEL SR1 lite are almost impossibly Grippy and difficult to pull out. I know they have to be strong, but sometimes they make a great blade harder to use and bad for my wardrobe. Opinions? Thanks!

My opinion: gents knives don't have pocket clips. Wearing slacks/khakis/suit means you need an in pocket, classy slipjoint. For kershaw i would choose their Barlow. My usual (non-kershaw) church knife is a tactile ultem/magnacut bexar. Incredibly light and thin and perfect for khakis

Can you please give me an example what else I can put in my collection? Where I live the blade length doesn't matter, I do EDC Cold Steel Espada XL.

For me all that debate about the gentlemens carry choice tells me you should pick 3 fixed blades and 2 folders. The Belair and Mini Iridium are too close together. Give me their 9" fillet knife instead of one of those two and I'm set.

Nope, I have a few Kershaw knives. It's been a love-hate relationship. Still own a Leek, own a Camp 14, and I had a Blur in S30V, think it was my first knife in that steel, gave it to one of my kids. I like what Kershaw is starting to produce with the Belair. I hope they keep going on that track. They might regain a customer.

I definitely like the Scallion in the GC category too. I think it would be a more appropriate GC than the Leek.
I only collect Automatic Knives (so far) but I love almost every model they make.
The Leek, BelAir, ZT0562 and the Camp 10 are all the knives I'd ever need from KAI. Honorable mention to the Iridium.

Protech TR5 would be my recommendation. Might have to hunt for a premium steel version.
A lot of the Benchmade assisted knifes have open/closed safety’s.

A lot of SOG folders have that lock. Same company that owns Cold Steel has SOG too now.
I love my Strata. If Kershaw would just make 3.75 inch large versions of their crossbar lock and auto/ otf knives, that would be awesome.
