The number of knives a person needs is N+1, where N is the number of knives you currently own.
I keep trying to prove this equation wrong, but I haven't had any luck doing so.
Nice formula
Yes.
I keep telling myself the 1 should be 0, but in practice it turns into a 3 over the course of a year.
I've crushed the numbers many times over and frequently come up with N+2 or 3.
I think Thomas made Seth buying more knives...
It wasn't difficult. --Thomas
It was fun to see Thomas countering Seth with his own recommendations and hearing their reasoning for why either choice works. Bravo gents 👏🏻
Great to see Thomas in front of the camera keep up the amazing content guys!!!
Thomas is back in the videos?
Yes!
Thomas Fs fo sure. Got that #BDE.
He seems like a super chill dude. I like hearing this take on things
Guys, it’s awesome that Thomas is stepping in front of the camera more.. Knife Bros Forever!!! 🎉
Thanks to David and MKM I am carrying a pocket fixed blade a lot more. I have the muck version with the olive wood handle. Love that knife!
I purchased a Para 2 about a month ago with S45VN steel and I'm really impressed. Using it daily cutting nylon straps saturated in sand and mud not to mention ordinary cutting tasks and it's only needed sharpening once. IMO it's an excellent steel.
I’ve been collecting knives since I was a child. Para 3 LW is by far my favorite edc of all time.
Same here.
Just picked up the Knifejoker para 3 lw and def digging it
Thomas: Yeah, I keep dulling out S30V using it as a steak knife on ceramic plates
Seth: You know what tou should try? Maxamet
🤦♂️
I like the Para3 BUT it carries bigger than its size while the Para2 carries smaller for its size, if that makes sense. I stick to my Para2.
Where’s David?
Was wondering the same myself, but David actually answered on another post - he's on paternity leave 😎
He's enjoying some time off because he and his wife is having a baby. A much needed and deserved break.
Love the video guys !! Thanks again !
Love the baby banter warny. It’s light. Does the job and is great in gym shorts/active wear.
baby banter in general is an all-timer
This was great. More of these types of videos please!
seems like a simple reason Seth is constantly buying new knives and Thomas is not, see that wedding ring on Thomas' finger and the lack of one on Seth's .............
That'll do it!!
Thomas has a pontiac hat. He will not budge
I have been both of these people. I bought myself a Kershaw blur when I turned 21 in 2009, and carried that thing for 14 years. I had gotten other knives here and there, but nothing ever unthroned the blur. Now I cant stop buying and carrying new knives. Im sick I tells ya. I got the fever and the only thing that can cure it is more pocket knives!
PS: Yall could get in the weeds for entire episodes and we would not complain, this is what I think most of us knife nuts are showing up for to begin with.
PPS: The We version of the Vision would be even better if they simply included a traditional pocket clip you could swap onto the knife if the stock one isnt for you, that way they can retain the vision of the Vision but also alleviate that hesitation on some buyers part. It could also be too complicated to do that, i dont really know but I feel like its a simple solution to the common issue people have with the physical design of the knife.
If I only bought a new knife when I needed one I'd have about three, and the newest one would be about thirty years old.
I used to do that, but at 25, I’ve already been through 4
Ig I’m just very hard on my knives
Though I also had some pretty crudy knives
A good Civivi Praxis or CJRB Pyrite or Kershaw Iridium will last a long time
But I was buying Gerber Paraframes and those crappy mystery steel Pakistani knives
Thomas has suppriesed me seeing him and understanding him in person rather than just an akward man of a voice. He is a practical guy. Thumbs up to thomas. My bad
Thomas - you are a natural in front of the camera. Please come on more often.
Awesome, thank you 🙏🏽
The weeds😂
The weeds graphic was perfection.
Great video guys, i really liked listening to your discussion 👌
An entertaining video. Thomas, you’re pretty funny, and knowledgeable about knives too. You guys make a dynamic duo! Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
its really fun to see that even Thomas ( who is not a knife person in the same sense that alot of us watching are knife people) can get in front of the camera with a grip of knives and make it as much fun as its been. thanks for the vid KnifeCenter and team!
Bought several knives from K/C but my most expensive is the Spyderco Native 5 in cru wear with G 10 handles, bought 2, of them that scratched my expensive knife itch and the Buck slim is my daily carry 🦉
I liked this format - great engagement and getting out from under DCA's (slightly larger than average) shadow ❤
As someone who owns both a Baby Banter and a Maileah I would say both are excellent choices for a small 5th pocket knife. I swap them back and forth regularly.
The Cold Steel SR1 folder is the best knife.
The skeletool is my most carried multitool
I love knives, but don’t really get larger folders. I live and work in 3” areas and have never wanted for more in an edc. Usually a para3, native, mini cqc-7, or leek. All 3” blades.
The MKM yipper is a fantastic benchmade 940 competitor as well.
What a very good program you guys pulled here. I think David C. Andersen must be proud of how you guys broke down the categories and each description for each tool. Totally enjoyed this with my coffee today! 👍 Btw I am absolutely sold on the Yipper, and David's fixed blade is also pretty awesome. Oh, boy, I don't wish to hurt my budget...
Thomas and I are of the same mind set. He apparently owns several of the knives I also own. I probably own a bit more than he does but... Who knows. Good video guys.
Thomas DIDN'T fill one category that was brought up. It's a glaring omission from his collection.
He has no high edge retention, supersteel knife - folder or fixed blade! Nothing. So, he either needs that Para 3 in Maxamet or to upgrade his Bugout to the model with S90V. How did Seth not notice this?
Great job Gary!
I'm with Thomas on the Vision FG. It's such an excellent and versatile EDC.
I'm re considering revisiting a multi tool vs small pliers.... Especially if I can get one with upgraded blade steel and not a bunch of extra weight (too many tools etc)
The M390/Au Bugout is an incredible edc. I have well over 100 knives high end small batch usa to no names...
Mini knife I would go with the Kiezer Banish. Finger safe blade, micarta, and 154cm blade.
Thomas & Seth, Have you held the Vosteed Corgi-Pup? It's a small knife that comes with CPM-S35VN and smooth G-10. Maybe one day they'll do a spey blade / reverse tanto, but the drop point works well for now.
Im so happy to know that im not the only one using my pocketknives as fidgetspinners ^.^
I think Thomas needs a gentlemans knife, like a Civivi Exarch or CRKT Ceo.. else i have nothing to complain about.
Great video as always
Seth is many things but salesman is apparently not one of them...
the best handle is a hybird form of the ad 10 or the spyderco knives
reasoons: chiole and finger guard
blade shape is up for debate for me and others
Sold me on the AD-10. I've been eyeing one for a long while and something else always pops up. After my pre-order for the Salt PM2 gets filled, the AD-10 is next.
How does the tipper compare to the Deka magnacut?
Thanks guys. I was not aware of the yipper. Been on a “reverse tanto” / sheep’s foot kick lately.
Need is a strong word
Need is a strong word
I was surprised to see DCA chose to go with a reverse tanto for the Tango and I'll bet Thomas was thrilled with it
I love my nesmuc pocket tango by DCA!
Haha I laughed way too hard at the Chaos Kukri, yours looks almsot exactly like mine. One Christmas visiting my family I used it exclusively to chop firewood. It's great isnt it? Too bad it's discontinued.
Actually, with all due respect to MKM (a company I really like) David already figured out the pocket fixed blade with the Skipjack. The Nessmuk Tango is fine, the reverse tanto (more appropriately the lambsfoot) is acceptable, but the sheepsfoot is just too weird. However, the Skipjack is incredible. Now I just need to convince L.T. Wright to create another batch in either AEB-L or 14C28N and I'll be a happy little camper.
The heat treat on my pm2 magnacut isnt very good. I wonder if it has something to do with the dlc. Seems like it affects the action too
Can't go wrong with either the civivi baby banter, Kizer drop bear, or hell just go for it and get the cold steel 4 max
Lol 5 max would be acceptable too!
Chinese junk. At least Cold Stell makes most of their stuff in Taiwan.
Looks like a lion steel M1. Mine is m390 not magna cut though
Nice video!
Greetings from Germany💚🤘
Good job Seth and Thomas!
I really want a Pocket Tango 3. I really like the design, but the price gives me pause. I don't need MagnaCut. I'd love to see that in a more utilitarian stainless steel.
I’m really enjoying my Pocket Tango 3in lambs foot!
This was a good one.
I'm tempted by the MKM Yipper. It's the first Ben Petersen that ever had any appeal for me.
I'm looking I to adding that Pocket Tango to my collection
Where is David C. Anderson? Is he not doing these videos anymore? Did I miss something?
If he was gone for some sort of planned or positive reason, I'd guess they'd say. And they aren't saying, so... my guess is they are looking for a new host, and just covering for time.
@@Bethany415 thanks. It’s not the same. I guess he couldn’t do it forever.
@@Bethany415 Nope, according to the man himself he's just on paternity leave 👍🏼
@@Bethany415 they have mentioned in other videos that he is on vacation. He's taking some time off because his wife and he are having na baby.
I like the Other Guy, he seems like a Knife Guy :)))
Thomas is so much a man after my own heart - you can tell he just doesnt subscribe to the bs and he is practical
Thomas, a Stretch 2 in K390 should suit you
I see that knife in my future as well.
@@twatmunro Do it! It's been my EDC for the past year and it's hands down the best knife I've ever had. So much so that I keep looking at new knives all the time but I can't justify any of them when I have something that works so well already, which can be a bit frustrating. :)
Oh yea let’s go!!
This is a W format- keep doing this for sure
Hey fellas. Great stuff as always. DCA no mas?
He's on vacation
I can always rely on Thomas bringing the Reverse Tanto! 🥰🙏
Sandrin TCK 2.0 is the sharpest knife I have ever owned….yes, its a slip joint but it will never need to be sharpened in my lifetime….highly recommended from a hundreds of many knives collector.
You both made good arguments. I like both of your choices, but Thomas is more on my level the more knives I own I find I don’t need exotic steals. I’m a damn good sharpener and I tend to keep going to my 14c 154 CM and my nitro V steels don’t give me wrong. I have enough super steals in my collection, but they are a bitch to sharpen lol
Civivi vision fg knifecenter exclusive is the best choice.
Dave must be in his forge designing his next set of " FIXED" blades to sell on jis own lable
I tried to talk myself into a baby banter but the Mialeah just makes more sense I even got the bigger version as well
Knife steel gets me. I see a review of a certain steel, and think “maybe that’s the perfect EDC steel”, and buy a knife.
I kept the maileah and sold the baby Banter. I ended up giving the Maileah to my wife and it’s now her purse knife
Knife Center has vision fg exclusive in carbon fiber and s35vn coming soon
I want that ProTech auto
bladehq has the same model but in different colors and i want one in red so bad
Hi all, What is the best folding knife for a budget of $300 or less?
I would go with a Benchmade Super Freek if you have $300 to spend
You should probably add a few more filters for us… like manual or automatic, type of lock maybe or at least if you are into slip joints or other if the knife is for edc or what.. all you said was folding knife. Pretty broad spectrum.
@@brettmitchell3261 you are right. Not automatic because it is illegal in most of the countries. Edc purpose but not something very small, blade length can be 3,5inch or more. About lock type and steel i am open to suggestions.
Cold Steel has the Best Buy's for fixed blades under $100. Lots of good stuff under $50 too. If you aren't intimately familiar with all their knives; check them out more closely. I have all the ones I want and waiting on some new product from them. And not some North America made knife from some other knife company either.
KaBar, Condor, and Buck have some great affordable fixed blade options as well.
The Salt P3 in MC is the new Meta.
if they ever show up..
The hat is amazing
What, this old thing? --Thomas
I have really been enjoying the Seth & Thomas Duo presentations -- hopefully it will continue as a Knife Center feature to augment the inimitable DCA? The give-and-take between you two is humorous, informative, kind and respectful. Great job, Gentlemen!
Where the heck is David C Anderson?
Paternity leave
Can we get a video on the top 10 most expensive knives in the store?
Thomas had that hat since high school 😂
It's a nice hat. I miss Pontiac.
Given the Pontiac hat, I can tell a lot about Thomas.
That he's old school?
I'd say based on the shirt that he likes metal bands
I have a yipper in my pocket... love it
did they fix that bullshit where it smacked the barrel spacer on the edge everytime it closed?
@@acid6urns i did not have the issue with mine
I returned my Yipper that had that problem. It’s a shame, I liked the knife.
By fair Tomas needs to be on cam more ..Great Job GUYS
Hey Knife Center Suits, Can we get a Seth and Thomas exclusive video series? DCA behind the camera possibly?
Call it the reverse tanto
Knife Finds a Way ... Sounds like a Knife Center moto to me
Ad-10 for the win!
If Thomas already has a PM2 hes set. thats the knife to end all pocket knives if you ask me. not that it stopped me at all, but I still think I could have stopped there and been plenty satisfied
Sorry, Seth. You had some nice choices, but I have to align with Thomas’ preferences.
G'day guys.! If Thomas is next to Seth, who's doing the weeds.? Love the triple Bug but the Yipper would have to take the lead. Yippee I Yay Mother @#%*& or was it "what...is up guys"?. We now know that Thomas do use his tools. Glad the bar blade is still around. Cheers from Australia.
Hello. Greetings from Çanakkale, Türkiye. I love you very much and I watch your videos with admiration. I have a problem. I enjoy mountaineering and hunting. I have been looking for the Buck 537 open season skinner hunting paring knife in Türkiye for years and could not find it. I found it on a site in Turkey and it turned out to be a scam. I really want the Buck 537 open season skinner knife. Could you help me on this matter? I wish you good publications.
Thomas reminds me of young jamie from JRE podcast
