Saw that. The two wins were impressive, but also a little disappointing. He didn't win through battle tactics, more through exploring shortcomings of the AI.
@@ringosk1 Sadly that is how you beat impossible AIs. High difficulty games can be beat by good tactics and strategy, but as you keep cranking up the challenge you abusing mechanics is the only way to succeed. Its why I tend to avoid the legendary difficulty on most games these days.
Nothing wrong with a slow start! Personally, I like these eco-heavy games every now and again.

That HRE armour tech is insane
Yeah the armor tech is great until ultra late game. You lose out on food income from chapel and the armor wouldn't matter against handcannon + maa/knight/spear comp in the ultra late game.
@@kai-xuanyao4666 True, HCs are super pricey though. Still makes maa and spears so good for how cheap they are
@@kai-xuanyao4666 im not so sure about that, achen chappel cover enough farms as 3 or maybe 2 prelates, so what you save with the achen chappel ultra late period is 2 population slots, the armor upgrades for knights and spears seems wort to me.

Wynguard Rangers and Footmen are a fail because they just don't train fast enough. Only the Raiders train at a decent enough speed to be useful late game.
Drongo, you take every opportunity to say the word 'benediction' and I'm here for it.
For what it's worth I really enjoy the passive games to see people's long term strategy and base building
Gotta say, when the drongo analysis is on point as it was throughout the first 3 ages of this game (lol) the time before doesn't feel unrewarded, furthermore the suspense builds throughout: will the knights find a way in? Will the box wall in be enough to hold? Hints dropped help to build a sense of timing, etc. Really excellent content.
i'm not a pro but i think some melee armor upgrades for RecoN could be handy
idk if this could be a game changer. HRE was always in my heart and now... now they are better, noice
i'm not a pro either, but i think that the problem for RecoN was the economy, at the last moments of the game, he was sitting in 200-300 gold and 120 pop so i think that the nerf to gold for the english is a major factor in the outcome of the game.
Did he even have enclosures? The White Tower is a better landmark and makes the council hall redundant. Double production in the Castle age of Crossbows is where its at.
Interesting to see that even the mighty Beasty doesn't put prelates on the farms when there's no Aachen Chapel. He could have had the same income with 20 less vils if there's 10 prelates inspiring those 100+ vils.

Its insane how many people dont realize how big of a deal +2 is. People in the comments of your previous videos were saying it doesnt matter much. Insane
+2 stacked is huge
2+ is a nerf to pikemen not a buff. They got 3+ before riveted chain mail has always been a HRE upgrade only different is now it applies to horsemen aswell but only from the landmark and at a reduced bonus.

@@HIIIBEAR yeah ofcourse but thee first fight in this clip HRE are in imperial. It's definently better than it was before but what this also means is that arcan chaple build order took a small nerf.

Even though for the better part of the game there is 30 vil kill dif the economy of the hre is not impacted. Just goes to show how strong Palace of Swabia is.

Seeing how hard RecoN went into knights, I think he would have been better with the Abbey of Kings
He built the King's Palace though, and I don't understand what this has to do with knights, you almost always go King's Palace.

No he did not get Enclosures in the game, so that did cost him. Along with allowing those 4 Relics without a fight....awesome game either way
