Sun yat sen can literally smash bbs at 15+km ranges though if the shells connect. Bungo can hit 10/10 shells at 18kms and do 0 cits to battleships because the shells are trash
The devs see that the sun yat sen doesn’t work except in very specific scenarios and now they made a ship like it with no armor lol, I haven’t seen a sun yat sen on NA servers ever
To me this just looks like standard IJN dispersion. Go and play Nagato for a bit, it´ll be the exact same experience were you bracket everything. Speaking of Nagato. If you want to nail the fact that the shells are the biggest weakpoint of this line just compare Yumihari with Nagato AP.
Exactly my thoughts. IJN BB dispersion is notoriously trolly and expecting perfect shots every time is ludicrous. To be honest, the T10 looks better in regards to how IJN BB standards go in the game.
PQ and most CC's have been spoiled by ships like Thunderer and Vermont, or Schlieffen that basically play themselves with excellent dispersion or auto-damage. The average battleship shouldn't be having dispersion that good, especially with cruiser concealment and all the overmatch in the world.
They should increase the shell alpha and pen while increasing the reload if it's too much. The guns don't feel like 457s, they feel like 406s with 30mm overmatch.
Unfortunately the sigma doesn't matter too much when the dispersion ellipse is terrible. The Yamato is allegedly an accurate BB but the salvos you get out of it...
Sigma definitely matters. Good sigma can specifically compensate for a bad ellipse a lot because your shells will be more likely to go towards the center, meaning that the bad ellipse will matter less.
That's exactly what I tell the weebs that tout the T9 sister ship. If you're lucky to dev strike in one salvo, great !! Good luck if you're like me and require quick follow up shots.
the plane seems like it really buffs the vertical dispersion more than anything else, and the fact that the vertical dispersion is terrible really seems to make this a ship that wants to farm nose in ships with HE when the plane is down, but then switching to AP when they're broadside at close range or against cruisers. Interesting how it has two completely different playstyles in one ship. I think I'll be grinding these out.
I don’t understand, PQ seems to be consistently shooting low based on the location of the x mark on the minimap (particularly at the beginning of the video). Ofc there’s an element of the aiming bug, but recently it feels like he’s just not aiming as well as before. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?
The weird thing for me, and I’m sure people will disagree, but I feel like battleships are almost OP. When I’m playing it can feel like battleships can have such an overwhelming presence in the right scenarios. Subs and cv’s make them worse, way too much free damage. Unfortunately every ship has a safe way to get damage, cruisers spamming over islands, dd’s kiting away launching torps, and bb’s have to sit in the back to avoid getting torched, because if you were taking ap, you could actually angle and push hard and make a better out come, but it’s two cruisers and a gun boat spamming HE and you just turn into a bonfire. I think the balance of this game is in an extremely precarious position. But I think the main issue comes down to map design honestly. There’s a reason you can push harder in ranked, less ships. If the 12v12 maps were more segmented, effectively into 2-3 battle zones, you could push harder on your flank so that you could get to your teammates faster and help them. As for the bungo line, in terms of balance, I don’t think you should be dev striking every cruiser that goes broadside, but they should absolutely be punished for it! Way too many broadside cruisers taking 0 cits, sometimes not even any full pens. Across all bb’s, not just bungo.
The accuracy at long range on this ship is absolute pants. Even when the AP shells hit they either overpen or bounce. The AP is much better at short to mid range, but the armour is so bad that you would have trouble getting in that close. EDIT: Just tried the HE as someone suggested below. Totally counterintuitive for a Japanese BB, but it worked fairly well. 12k HE salvo on an Amagi at long range!
I'll be honest, this is my experience of some of the main line ships. Everyone says how accurate Amagi is, but mine seems to be fitted with Italian guns, can't hit a broadside cruiser at 12km with 10 shells. I feel like the accuracy has got worse as well, or at least less consistent over the course of the last few patches, maybe they;ve broken something in the spaghetti code without realising it?
Grinding through the Adatara now and am losing the faith. If you want what this line supposedly promised, what ship do you suggest - accurate and strong AP?
I feel Adatar extremely difficult to get get good hits with as well. Not feeling I`m helping my team out, it`s a pain grinding up to bungo. Worse than Yamahari.
Dispersion reminds me of Roma. Not of fan of these ships, and I haven't even played them, yet. If that's the way it's going to be, you can't wait for the perfect shot; it's a "spray and pray" (that you hit something) kind of ship.
Speaking of strong I've never seen any player using Lousiana anymore, but I'm seeing St. Vincent left and right in random. I have both BBs in my port but for me St. Vincent is more flexible BB than Louisiana
Im sorry to say PQ but these are really entertaining. Lots of hope deteriorating in front of our eyes pointing out all the flaws we all know about but believe and hope can't possibly be true. Yet here we are. just rolling the dice.
Ok, this makes me feel better is a bad way. This is what my experience has been with this one and Yumi, came here to see what I was doing wrong. Apparently my biggest issue is the ship I picked
I feel like if you make caps more valuable you could break the current long range meta. What if caps gave team that hold them battle buffs? I know it's kinda like the other mode but, forcing players to seek caps rather than sniping like this game could put more emphasis on aggression.
+1 Art department +1 Sound department I don't see why anyone would play these. Even if the accuracy was better. The accuracy as it is just reminds me of Jean Bart.
This ship makes the Yumihari look good, it has a little less over pens. The Adatara is so disappointing, eats every shell that hits, but either over pens or shatters on the torp protection which is nuts! I'll just get the Bungo and then switch to anything else.
2nd game, the HE spam. Unfortunately WeeGee with their enlightened wisdom what gamer want, decided to make HE extremely strong and ships very weak against it. So it doesn't matter if you want it or like it - you get it and now you can deal with it or you get some influence on the devs and change their mind 😜but we all know how it ends... WeeGee does what WeeGee does, milking the gamer from their money. HE is the easy way, I saw it on my Conqueror lately. Nothing goes so smooth and chilling like HE spam over the distance. Why should I use my Preussen or any other brawling BB and make an effort, when I can win the games way easier?
Outplaying with AP? I play crusers mostly and my observation is that bbs just sit there shooting at me with their overmuch nonsense. Damage is Damage with whatever shell type you made it.
I would rather have all these ships with 16" but decent guns than overmatch shotguns, that way at least they would feel fun and rewarding to play But oh well, who knows maybe in 1year (minimum) WG will decide to buff the line lol
Didn't have a chance to finish the video, but your observations about shell velocity tell the story. Historically , AP shells are ALWAYS heavier, not like the American super heavy, but still heavier. WOWS has followed this model. These ships DO NOT, so they gave up the mass and kinetic energy (which translates to penetration) for speed and range. This is foolish and the very reason the US developed the super heavy AP.
To add to this, the Americans foresaw combat ranges extending to distances where being able to penetrate ships' deck armour would be more important, and were less concerned about gun barrel life (heavier shells erode gun barrels further) because radar assisted aiming and the chances of 1 shell dealing so much damage that the enemy became crippled reduced the requirement to throw lots of metal down range. A heavier shell falls with a steeper trajectory as well as maintaining high kinetic energy.
But hey the update is pretty nice. You can grind in 180 battles the "early access" of the tier 8 version of this or maybe you want to spend 1130 days of Premium on a champagner. Or you could pay 2500 dubs and grind for a month for 2 gambling tries in black friday containers. The fun of the player is truely in focus here. Pls just play Baldurs Gate 3 guys.
They should have went with izumos 410s so they dont get the 30mm overmatch so they could have the ability to smash broadside bbs as well. These 457 shells are just pathetic.
now WG gives 457mm gun to tier9 techtree ship too pretty sure cruiser player would love getting clapped from any random angle by this thing, especially against tier7
It’s the pain of the game as a whole to many bugs and the game taking out skill and it’s all just random chance now.. last night had a 4km total shot gun salvo … missed every shot at 4km … cost us the game
i just started playing again and then immediately stopped since this game scks even more than 4 months ago. I don't know how is that even possible to make a game even worst in just 4 months
For someone whose aim (hit percentage) stats are very high and skillfully knows where to aim to get my shells to land "exactly" where I want as well as where citadels are. These ships are going to be somewhat a blessing. Because I hate when players risk turning broadside to you whether close or far and I precisely aim to where I know my shells are going to land, even on a out turn and you get no citadels or even MISS is annoying. I always feel like the aim/sigma system in wows protects bad player's mistakes. Especially with vertical despersion :C
There's gotta be some hidden stats that are messing this line up. That Bongo video you had really great hits but almost nothing was a cit. I wonder if these shells have a longer than avg arming time or something you had a bunch of overpens that didn't make sense. If that is the case you might actually get many more cits using HE than AP. Maybe try Bongo again just using HE and see if you can get cits that way?
Hidden Krupp values affect how shells interact with armour, particularly against ships with spaced armour and internal citadels. WW1 era ships have lower krupp values so even though the initial pen looks good on paper, after hitting the first layer of armour the shell basically runs out of momentum and detonates before the cit. Spaced armour really screws up cit RNG as a whole though
That is so sad for such an accurate line. For someone who loves playing conqueror…Ik for a fact this line was not meant for HE! It has so much potential for AP, and ur right on paper it looks like it was meant for AP. It should have been for AP does a lot more damage and from what we’ve seen these ships were meant for AP due to their accuracy not HE. It just doesn’t make any sense…I don’t get it so much bs and so sad tbh. I was super sad after watching this vid review. :/
So, when everything is normal for everyone and a Bismarck can do devastating strikes all the time... maybe, just maybe... it's all on you? 😋 Maybe don't focus too much on citadels, but instead more on the most possible damage with the tools you are given? BTW, I usually aim a lil bit higher than waterline, when it comes to plain broadside situation and it seem to work and on the long distance its all on the RNG
WG is so scummy and untrustworthy these days it's possible they have special code in place, which we can't see, to make them less accurate and less penetrating than what the parameter files otherwise indicate for these ships. Based on your observations I see no other explanation, but would like hearing other theories.
Im grinding the Yumihari, and boy, she isn't any fun. Guns are constantly inaccurate despite high sigma rating. Japanese bb vertical dispersion is worst in class. For me, vertical dispersion, will indicate the true accuracy of a ship guns than sigma. Slava best in class, best vertical dispersion. St Vincent sigma only 1.6 but vertical dispersion is better than average.
Potato, I think you're playing a game that doesn't exist anymore. They've deliberately moved the game in a more arcade direction. You actually started getting some decent damage in there, when you stopped thirsting for those 1 in a million dev strikes.
PQ saying he is going to try the HE more….. Proceeds to fire AP at ships facing him, kiting him, and angled to him. Becomes frustrated at low damage so holds his shots waiting for only perfect shots. Tactically lame and selfish. Complains about game, but plays poorly. Isn’t that what Noobs do?
Whelp, I regret spending a dime on these ships. If I could, I’d refund the balloons I spent on them in a heartbeat and use it all on getting my mainline Japanese ships back from that Research crap.
@@nickrael5693 that's easily proven false. The US BBs Georgia and Ohio are some of the best in the game There are plenty of examples in every line of great ships. They just got it wrong on this one combined with one of their oldest unfixed issues with the aim assist.
@@nickrael5693 again easily proven false. You're finding bias cause you're looking for it. There's plenty of examples from every nation of strong shops and lines. Axis ones coming to mind immediately, mecklenburg, Venezia, zao is still strong despite being an OG, Roma, Yamato will always be strong. I could go on but there's plenty of good ships. This line seems weak now but may become meta in a few patches. There's no bias lol
I respect that you're disappointed with the aiming system and the state of the game, but at this point it feels like every single one of your videos is just you complaining again and again, expecting everything to go as you want it to. I hope you'll adjust your expectations to how the game actually works to make funny videos again and make us want to watch until the end
I've noticed that too Ark. PQ I also noticed you hold your shots for awhile. You could be hitting some of these guys coming out of a turn. You know how the aiming system is by now. You aren't rewarded how accurate you well timed shot is but rather how much you put out. This game is about DPS so you gotta keep your guns as hot as possible, especially in BB's.
WG is their own worst enemy. Who wants to play a line ships that can only counter one specific class, while being griefed by all other classes of ship. This is their new MO in ship design and it's pathetic to just get some extra coin. Game is too frustrating to play anymore.
This ship sucks. big 18" guns that are very accurate, but can't penetrate crap. Bounce, shatter, or over pen. I get like 38 hits and will get about 40k damage. The AP is garbage, and so is the HE.
the best part about these ships seem to be their permanent camouflage
many such cases
The AP are like the Sun Yat Sen, large caliber without damage
Yup. But Sun has good pen at least.
Sun yat sen can literally smash bbs at 15+km ranges though if the shells connect. Bungo can hit 10/10 shells at 18kms and do 0 cits to battleships because the shells are trash

@@sergeyyes2776 I have it and it's ok especially on ranked can deliver a good punch.
I guessed they don’t want another Georgia running around at tier 9 so they nerfed every 457mm Alpha
Isnt Bismarck also an 8 gun bb? That should be the next ship review video and we take subtle jabs at the new Japanese bb line while reviewing it
WG got scared that these ships would be too much, even though they already made hundreds of batshit insane ships.

Japanese bb vertical dispersion is worst in class. For me, vertical dispersion, will indicate the true accuracy of a ship guns than sigma. Slava best in class, best vertical dispersion. St Vincent sigma only 1.6 but vertical dispersion is better than average.
Takes reloader...never uses it.
Potato, I think you're playing a game that doesn't exist anymore. They've deliberately moved the game in a more arcade direction. You actually started getting some decent damage in there, when you stopped thirsting for those 1 in a million dev strikes.
Why two disappointing IJN lines in a row!! I was looking forward to these like the CLs but at least this looks better than Yodo was sad panda.
Amen. Literally it’s sad cause he’s one of few 4k content creators for wows. But he’s so god damn stubborn
idk wym cause there are plenty of times there were broadside ships he fired at that had no real damage done to them when he fired.
Japanese dispersion's just the worst isn't it?
Whelp, I regret spending a dime on these ships. If I could, I’d refund the balloons I spent on them in a heartbeat and use it all on getting my mainline Japanese ships back from that Research crap.
Another Video more Salt from the Mine
Seriously, the damage of these 457 guns of this line looks like the 380s of Tirpitz / Bismarck.
I'm so not excited to return to this stupid game...
This line is weak
Agree. Though if they fix these shell aiming bugs it could be too strong. The vertical dispersion is great and the horizontal is about cruiser size.
Bc its an axis line, these russian devs shit on all the axis ships but make their own or the allies good
@@nickrael5693 that's easily proven false. The US BBs Georgia and Ohio are some of the best in the game There are plenty of examples in every line of great ships. They just got it wrong on this one combined with one of their oldest unfixed issues with the aim assist.
@@cheebahjones420 if actually read what I said I included the allies as well meaning US UK and France are all good
@@nickrael5693 again easily proven false. There's no bias lol
man's aiming completely wrong for half these shots and malding about them falling short, classic.
Dude I literally just said the same thing. He needs to play more, not just for recording 3 videos.
Are there bugs? Yes. But every salvo? No. Again look at the other top content creators for wows.
Anf again - IJN can't have nice things😮😢
PQ is high on drugs
I respect that you're disappointed with the aiming system and the state of the game, but at this point it feels like every single one of your videos is just you complaining again and again, expecting everything to go as you want it to. I hope you'll adjust your expectations to how the game actually works to make funny videos again and make us want to watch until the end
He literally compliments the port at the beginning, but aim in wows is annoying for good players who are good with aiming.
He is just like flamu, he lowered his level tbh
It is just simply horse shiet. 15 salvo and less than 10 k damage. It is simply shietiest shiet in the game.
WG is their own worst enemy. Who wants to play a line ships that can only counter one specific class, while being griefed by all other classes of ship. This is their new MO in ship design and it's pathetic to just get some extra coin. Game is too frustrating to play anymore.
British battlecruisers are ugly but very effective.
IJN battlecruisers are pretty (with the camo) but useless.
Another HE spammer in this cursed game? Christ.
This ship sucks. big 18" guns that are very accurate, but can't penetrate crap. Bounce, shatter, or over pen. I get like 38 hits and will get about 40k damage. The AP is garbage, and so is the HE.
