Don't forget to tag me in on your paper doodle shares - I am @kimdellow on instagram and I can't wait to see them! And if you are looking for more creative ideas to play with watch these: bit.ly/2wjB8JO
Really interesting, it makes me want to go and grab a pile of papers, hand painted, scrapbook, old book pages, whatever, and start cutting and glueing. The second one reminds me of those little crabs which make homes in shells and carry them around until they need to move into a larger shell.
Hermit crabs! x
Ooo I love your take on the second one! I am so glad this is making you wanna play! Have lots of fun and feel free to share the results with me if you share them on instagram (I'm @kimdellow over there).
@@KimDellow I would have named the second one 'Alien Music' , your process is really inspiring!
I love it! What a great name! Thank you Debs 💖 I love when art and science collide!
Great use of scraps of patterned paper too!
Definitely! Use all that paper up! 😂🎨
Kim, you are totally brilliant!!! What an awesome idea! Thank you for all you do. 💓💓💓
Ahh you are very kind! Thank you!
I shared this with my Art Sunday friends-we make a lot of paper and I also am a certified Zentangle teacher, so doodling with paper really speaks to me! “Planet Dance” is what I’d call your second creation. Love this video and your ideas.
Oh thank you Kim! That is very nice of you and I hope you Art Sunday Friends enjoy it. I love your title suggestion, hits my buttons and I love the idea of the movement too! Thank you!
Fun, fun. Can't wait to try this. Thanks.
I am glad you liked it and hope you had fun playing!
Such a fun idea!!
Thank you Jessica, have fun playing with it!
How fun! I’m inspired! Will be trying this today! ❤️
Brilliant! I am so glad you liked it and if you share it over on instagram do tag my in so I can come take a look! (@kimdellow)
This method looks like fun. I will have to try it. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you enjoyed have a go!
Your video is always amazing and very inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you and I am glad you liked it!
I love your free-form cutting and a change up from pens and paints really speaks to me at the moment. I like that you showed both a simple bold design and an intricate design. I will definitely be drawing with scissors!
Another outstanding video. Thanks, Kim.
I am really pleased you like it Robin! Thanks for watching and have fun playing!
Inspiring video! I love both pieces, when I look at the one on the right, I see Music! 💕🇨🇦
Fabulous idea.
Thank you!
I love these pieces, Kim, well, the whole technique! Paper doodling - how fun is that! And anything to use up those painty papers and scraps we all have, lol! Tfs, hugs, Fia
Thank you Fia! Totally! I have so many of them but I don't feel at all guilty about cutting them up like this but I would feel guilty about throwing them out! Have a lovely weekend!
Very cool idea!❤️
Thank you Sue! 💖
I love this! I haven't tried any abstract art yet but this will go. Thank you very much!
I am glad you liked it and have fun trying out abstract art!
@@KimDellow I was never drawn to abstract art until I found your channel and it took me a while to realize that what you're doing is just that:D. I saw quite some abstract art but I never liked it (only the rare few pieces) so I didn't want to do it and found no purpose in trying it.
But I've been watching your channel for a while and for the first time I feel I can learn this and from this and that abstract art can also be consistently good:). I saw some good pieces here and there but soooo many were just ugly and that kinda bothered me with this style - it sometimes looked like it's all thrown in together randomly (and not in an organic/natural/intuitive randomness;) but in that ugly-messy-like-from-the-dumpster style;). I don't feel that with your work - it has structure, balance and nice colors and patterns and I really like it. I like your explanation of the process of choosing and deciding what to do as I love to learn. I know I should be more loose in my art in general as it's much better when I allow myself but I'm not that confidant and I don't know many methods to learn to be loose so I'm glad I found one that will help me (I mean your abstract art tutorials in general not just this particular one). Thank you!
Thank you so much Vera, it means a lot to me that my work and videos have connected with you and I am really excited that I have helped open up a different art avenue for you to explore! It is wonderful to hear this, thank you so much for sharing with me and letting me know, it makes all the difference to me to know that my sharing helps you.
wow. why did I not think of this? awesome collage technique. SO going to be trying this :)
Hope you had fun with it!
@@KimDellow I may go through my papers I just organized *tonight* to select which ones I wanna collage like this.. or well DOODLE. can't wait :) (got lots of gelli prints & watercolored papers just for things like this anyway, gotta get through em, make stuff, so I can make MORE painty papers lol)
How fun!! I've been glueing strips of paper leftovers on paper and diecutting shapes and this is another fun thing to try! Thank you!
Oo that is a fab use! Thanks for sharing and have fun with this one!
Love these. Very cool xx
😘 Thank you!
I have bearly started the video and im already excited it looks so fun
Yay! Have lots of fun playing Tiffany!
Excellent teaching style--as you throw in so many ideas to vary this activity!
Thank you Linda, I am very glad you liked it.
Great idea! These came out so pretty! The one without a title looks so whimsical! How about whimsy doodle!
Oh nice! 'Whimsy Doodle' thank you for the suggestion! 💖
The one on the right telling me of a puddle after a rain drop lands in it. The concentric circles and splashes.
Oh yes! I like how you see it Candie! Thanks for sharing!
I can never think of titles, so if I title something, it tends to be literal, ie Trees, Circles, etc! Totally unimaginative, lol! I can see how you saw a mother and child in the first piece though. My favourite is the second piece, due to the colours and circles.
Julia. x
Yeah me too! It gets very confusing! I wondered why artists would call things 'abstract 1' etc and I know why now! Coming up with names is hard! 😂
Oh yes, it's especially difficult naming abstracts!
Another great creative idea! Can't wait to try.
😘😘😘 Thank you Kim, I hope you enjoy trying it out! 💖
Oooooh I’m excited! Thanks so much Kim! I’ll be trying this!
I am so glad! Have lots of fun with it and feel free to share the results with me on Instagram (@kimdellow) if you share it over there!
Wow...you just gave me a mad idea to try later!!! This is actually good for art journal as focal point and background as well. Must try this with decorative edge scissors!! Thanks for sharing!! 😊😊
Definitely good for art journals! Hope you had fun playing!
Love this idea! Such a great way to use up that stash and do something creative ❤️
Definitely! I am desperately trying to use it all up 😂
What a fabulous idea for all those papers!! 😮 You never cease to amaze me. I have so many paper backgrounds around that I have scanned and printed and not used. I don't know what to name yours but Birgit Koopsen has a challenge running right now called EverythingCircles and that's all I can think of. I intend to post a couple of mine in there but haven't yet. If you'd like to do that just tag it #everythingcircles and get it out there. I won't be doing the 30 day because I'm slow and there's no way I can even think of it. I see you are now at 11K already. Might get you a few more followers. I'll stop rambling now but I LOVE this idea and yours are so beautiful!! TFS Kim, you are always an inspiration. 🤗💙💕
Thank you Judy. It is a great way to use up those papers isn't it? Thanks for the suggestion too. I did spot Birgit's challenge, just haven't gotten around to posting for it! It is hard to keep up isn't it?! Hope you have had a great week! 💖
Amazing :)
Thank you!
LOVE these!
Thank you Laura!
What an awesome idea!!! Thanks for the video!!
Thank you and I am glad you liked it!
Love this! I can’t wait to try this technique out.
I am glad you liked it! Have fun playing and tag me in if you share them on instagram! I would love to see! (@kimdellow)
