The $126 Avon brush was mine! I got it for $1.00 at an estate sale. I had a lot of low ball offers but held out. I love selling all kinds of hair tools and accessories but don’t really find good ones too often. I recently sold a USED vintage Goody detangling comb for $25.00 that I got at A TS for $1.00. I’ve also sold used hair picks pretty well too especially when they are in marbled plastic. And as a 64-year-old woman who has painfully thin and straight hair I wear barrettes and butterfly clips almost every day to make styling my hair as quick as possible. So I have been on the lookout for vintage barrettes for years. My hair is so thin I can wear the kids ones. It’s funny how many compliments I get from teen girls these days! 😁
I have sold hair barrettes/accessories on eBay before. The ones that sell well are the pretty ones w/ (faux) pearls on them---especially in the Spring before Prom time and before the Wedding Summer season. 🙂
Memories! And lots of sales opportunities, thanks so much. My sisters, my mom, and I used the pink Avon flair brush all through the 70s-80s. Ergonomic before there was a word for it. And those awful wire brush curlers! I bet my mom still has a big bag of them…”hey mom….” 😊
Thanks so much for this video. I saw the hair combs and remembered my husband bought 3 trays of vintage jewelry for $20.00 at an estate sale. I looked in the trays and found a cloisonné hair comb with a peacock design. I only have one, but when I looked at the sold comps, a single comb just like mine sold for $18.00 on Feb. 8th! Guess what I'm listing today!
Love this! The bathroom is where I go first! My Stanley brush and comb were in this video! Paid 1.00 for set. I also bought two Avon brushes still in the box at the same sale.
You mentioned the Goody hair picks in an earlier video so I bid on an estate auction lot of hair clips and ribbons. I think I paid 2.50 because no one else was bidding. The lot contained one of the Scrunci clips for hair buns. I have it listed for 18.99. I went a little further and bid on another lot that looked like they just emptied the vanity into a large tote. It was full of hair products, make up and other stuff. I got it for 10.00. I had so much fun going thru it. Most of it I donated or threw away, but I did list a few items vintage new items: Aqua Net hairspray, Estee Lauder lipstick, Max Factor pan stick, Aussie original formula hair freeze, and Maybelline make-up. Once it all sells I'll probably net around $200. Thanks for the video!
I know I have several types of old curlers lurking in my back cabinets. Pretty much they are all used from back in the day but look forward to pulling them out and rewatching this if I can find it since the title doesn't say hair tools/accessories items for research. But as always all your research videos show me how much I already have and should run across it again someday and then know what to do with it. Thank you.
I’m getting ready to get back on the eBay train full force. I can tell we are close in age because I had those Goody barrettes too and my Mom had that brush in pink I believe. 😊 Thanks for the tips! I have never seen those flapper, aluminum ones…YET. 🤑🤑🤑
I used to have hair down to my waist when I was younger and had a ton of barrettes and hair ties. I started listing them and was shocked at how much they were selling for. Most of them sell for between $15-$20 but a few have gone for $25-$30. Some of my Stay tights have gone for $50 and they weren't even marked. Now I keep an eye out for lots cause although they are slow sellers they do eventually sell and are easy to list and ship. And you are right that the FRANCE ones do seem to sell higher but they all sell even some that I bought at the Dollar Tree.
I still have and often wear one of those tortoise shell barretts. The tortoise is cracked but it still works just fine. I think my grandmother had one of thse avid brushes. I loved using it. I bought a lot at an online estate sale auction and it has a ton of vintage hair accessories. They are like picks though. I don't think I saw anything like them in the video. I didn't think for a second they might have a resell value much less a substantial one but now I'm going to go look and see if I can find some comps. And I think I've got some curlers of my own that I've been hanging onto but never used that might be worth something but I'm not gonna let them go. I'll keep them for myself. Oh and I have some of those mini hair claws that I've had for years and use just to pull my hair outta my face. Who knew those were coming back in style?!?! I may be sitting on a small fortune. Who knew?? Thank you so much for making this video!!❤❤❤
I’ve sold Goody and others. Hair rollers sell too. I have my mom’s old Avon hairbrush, which I use every day. I’m painfully aware of how much I could get on eBay for it, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t find a hairbrush I like as much, so luckily my daughter is a reseller. She will inherit it.
Remington made everything from hair accessories, roller skates typewriters, guns, a huge variety of products... a long time ago I went to a gun show in Cody Wyoming Remington had an amazing display of all their products.... very old nice handguns, nice rifles.. I believe it was called The Wild Bill Hickok Museum one of the big tourist draws...LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES

Great video, I also sell all sorts of items. Glad I found you, as I now have more items to look at, that I wouldn't have normally done so.
Welcome!!
Hello from Australia. I remember the double bead ones..we used to call them Baubles.
😍😍 were they painful sometimes too?? 😂😂

Wow...definateiy need to watch out for these... nice!
The celluloid dresser sets sell well too and can be picked up cheapish.
For sure!
I sold a lot of mesh hair rollers - used - just the other day for about $25. With clips.
Great video. Thanks for the research ❤
Our pleasure!

Nothing wrong with keeping it!
Thank you! Another great video!
My pleasure!
Now that I knew about the ponytail holders, I have a distinct memory of passing up a huge baggy of them at a garage sale in about 2000 ;(
Wow that’s a long time ago! Who knows? The nostalgia might not have kicked in yet! 😊
Very interesting 😮
I think so too! So fun!

Definitely a company that was covering lots of markets!
I have listening & enjoying yr videos. I originally listened to yr Rubylane videos. Question: do you feel getting liability ins is needful?
I have not had it but can’t say whether that’s wise or not. 🤷🏼♀️
I recently sold plastic perm rods.
That’s great!
At 17:50, for some reason, the name “alligator claw” is coming to mind.
Banana clip!
😊😊 🍌
Can you do a variation listing in Poshmark?
Not that I know of
❤❤❤
I am not sure I understand how you tell they are vintage
Some will be marked - I look for made in USA or Taiwan or Hong Kong….of course packaging with new old stock items helps a lot!
