  • This walk begins at the New Dungeon Ghyll.. Parking is 8.50 all day.
A relatively easy walk in good conditions however in winter there is much ice covering on the paths.
Navigation is relatively straight forward with a good path up, around and down the pikes.

Another great one Dave. It looks like a vicious windchill. Great scenery though.

That waterfall was in full flow on my walk the day before it's unbelievable they can freeze so fast.

Just found the channel, Dave. Terrific stuff. Nice to hear a Cumbrian accent on a fell walking vid.
As an old fell walker (old being the operative) and a resident of Rasset I'll be closely following the channel and your fell bagging

I need to do every single one of them in that valley, so a great reference video of me. Never seen a frozen waterfall before and the initial walk up reminded my of walking up to Seat Sandal. Some superb views but dam shame about the shredded Go Pro batteries, I use the new Winter GoPro batteries and was out last week in -7C for for almost 6 hours and only had to swap the battery once. Either way, great news about our glove and often wondered which way around to do this walk and your route looks the best to me. I have spikes, which are invaluable but keep leaving the bloody things at home - got them in my bag now lol, cheers Alan

Its a very easy walk to be fair.. The initial walk up onto the plateau yes is similar to seat sandal but a much better path.. Once your up there you just have a few short scrambles up to each summit to pick them off and the walk round to Rosset is lovely although feels quite remote. I have a gopro hero 8 and sadly they don't do cold weather batteries for those so ive had the suggestion of a volta stick, basically a powerbank built into your go pro handle. Thanks for watching Alan, tek care :)

@@daveostlemountainman - The Volta is great but I have broke two of them, as the connection between the Volta and GoPro is flimsy, so care is needed with them 👍

Incredible video Dave, how you did that without micro spikes is a miracle. That's a long tough walk in the best of conditions and we had a fail there last year because of dangerous winds. The snow and ice is very picturesque and gave you some incredible photos and vistas but I know those ascents and descents are tough at the best of times so you did amazing. Your glove story at the end was very heartening, your guardian angel was looking after you. All the best, Ashley

yea am definitely putting the lottery on tomorrow night.. Yea the winds were horrendous really, the bitterness of them destroyed my camera i think and i don't think much was forecast.. that plateau must be like a funnel.. Thanks for watching lad :)

Great video Dave . Lovely story about the glove. I was doing Ullock Pike last week very slippy then it snowed was well dodgy till i remembered i had spikes in my bag ...what a difference wearing them definitely recommended buying some .

HI Dave, belting video again mate. I do love the Langdales, probably my favourite area of the lakes. Such stunning views all around and what a day you had for it. Such a shame the video had to be cut short because of the camera batteries. Looks like the cold is affecting the batteries in the smoke alarm too! haha
Thanks for sharing thought mate. I bet it was tough getting back down of Pike O Stickle, given the frost and ice.
    All the best mate
    Dave

I took them out of the smoke alarm cos it went off once randomly all day for no reason, must have annoyed my neighbours.. gonna get me some cold weather batteries, apparently expensive but supposed to be the real deal. Thanks for watching lad :)
