adventure time was such a good show for lore building and story telling even if you didn't watch all the episodes they gave enough context clues for me as a child to understand what was happening. it was really engrained in my childhood and i remember spending an entire summer watching every single episode and watching youtube videos about the lore and everything. I think i also watched it enough before and after school to understand what was happening. the music and songs as well is some of my favourite purely out of the musical interest created through the common dissonance in chords which made it different and caused it to stand out. The way the music tells the story in some episodes with a lot less dialogue is seamless and powerful (this is just coming from a music nerd). The melodies in songs sung by the characters is random but it works with the world-building and vibe of the show. I especially love Rebecca Sugar's songs like Everything Stays and I remember You. Me personally i would put it at S for the world-building and music alone but i can understand why others would put it lower. It can be hard to follow if you hadn't payed attention to it :)
I really liked the songs - the vocals and the melodies of vocals sound very unique, in a way that I absolutely love. And world building is so cool, especially when you can watch all the episodes in chronological order and try to analyse just a bit the environments and imagine the timeline of that place, how it changed over the years. Great show

schlatt at the start says that you have to watch total drama island from the start, but at the beginning of this video he also states that a childhood tv show should be self-contained to watch any episode at any time. which is it big man?
PSA: Cartoon Network is playing a LOT of old cartoons like chowder, dexter, old teen titans, power puff girls , adventure time, etc. for their 30th year anniversary! They also have a live stream on their official UA-cam channel playing some episodes! 🎉🎉🎉
Schlatt says at the start of the pod that he was a huge cartoon guy, but then ends up saying that he had never watched like half of the shows on the list! Also there were some crimes committed with some of these rankings lol!
Schlatt is actually a content god knowing immediately how to speed through the rest of the shows by saying hot takes with less context. No wonder he has the position he does at OTK, dude is goated at content creation.
Naw this episode sucked and I stand by it. Schlatt either didn’t watch any of the shows or wasn’t talking with Ted carrying. Dear god he said he liked Johnny test Wtf?
This feels like a giant bit. Wtf man
I personally would’ve added Gravity Falls to this list, and I would’ve put it somewhere higher up (B-S range) purely for the overarching story that it told. Super good stuff, and we’ll crafted tier list as well IMO
As a Danny Phantom stan, I can respect the B rank, because I know that the show has room for improvement (looking at you season 3). But waiting till the end of the video for the rank had me SWEATING.

well, what's the other option? NOT watching all of it? what kinda nincompoop would start a 9 season show and not be able to appreciate it. having said that, AT is S+
I recently just rewatched it. Still one of my favorite shows, but it's definitely way too long and a lot of the episodes are meh at best. But the actual lore episodes, especially in the later seasons, are top tier
I wish i was an audio listener so i could have just told myself some of these takes were bits, cause wow. Adventure time less than A , fosters not being S, unreal. No matter how many times Ted breaks my knees I will stand by that.

The Adventure time opinion made me so sad lmao. It's my favorite show and I'm always hoping for more to come from the series.
lterally same
same it’s my favorite show of all time nvm just cartoons, tied with ATLA
A new spinoff came out
same its my FAVORITE SHOW OF ALL TIME im so sad about them giving it a c not to make assumptions but i feel like they probably don't remember enough of it or have seen enough of it to have a negative opinion on it also im very sad about them hating clarence
loser show
Surprised they didn't do Bakugan Battle Brawlers considering how Schlatt made the show, voiced every character, sang the theme tune and wrote the scripts
schlatt at the start says that you have to watch total drama island from the start, but at the beginning of this video he also states that a childhood tv show should be self-contained to watch any episode at any time. which is it big man?
I now want a Flapjack Meatcanyon video with that exact premise
vouch
the best podcast to listen to while falling back into a depressive episode
I've watched the first few around ten times each if not more like the first fifteen.. ten times each BUT I fully agree
It feels weird knowing I could’ve gone to school with Schlatt and Ted
I always thought they were a bit older. But damn I would have graduated with them. That's so strange to me.
PSA: Cartoon Network is playing a LOT of old cartoons like chowder, dexter, old teen titans, power puff girls , adventure time, etc. for their 30th year anniversary! They also have a live stream on their official UA-cam channel playing some episodes! 🎉🎉🎉
We all know this is just Schlatts excuse to talk about Courage the Cowardly dog again.
Grumm
Rewatching Adventure Time is difficult for sure, but the new stuff they’ve done under HBO has been great not having to be done strictly as a kids show
ted talking about that bowl with the straw really unlocked a deep memory for me man
4:43 When Ted said "Did you ever have one of those bowls..." I already knew exactly what he was talking about 😂
Schlatt says at the start of the pod that he was a huge cartoon guy, but then ends up saying that he had never watched like half of the shows on the list!
Also there were some crimes committed with some of these rankings lol!
Ted seems like he would LOVE adventure time in the later seasons when the deeper storyline starts. I cant believe they put it at a C :(
Sameeee tbh I’m rather surprised they don’t like it because the humor seemed up their alley. I respect that they didn’t just give it an F tho
i agree
I love Tucker just because he’s this omnipotent force in the background that appears whenever he’s needed
This is how you know they are zoomers. Rugrats and wild thornberryscame long before their childhoods
Schlatt is actually a content god knowing immediately how to speed through the rest of the shows by saying hot takes with less context. No wonder he has the position he does at OTK, dude is goated at content creation.
Grumm
Naw this episode sucked and I stand by it. Schlatt either didn’t watch any of the shows or wasn’t talking with Ted carrying.
Dear god he said he liked Johnny test Wtf?
@@sir.capuchin5242 u think we’re here for Jacob Schlatt’s intellectual takes?
@@sir.capuchin5242 fax, it took me three sittings to get through. And there’s still abt 25 minutes left.
Are y’all being serious? Both of them were just being real with what they thought about each show, what is there to really hate on?
Schlatt talking about Bling Bling Boy unlocked a core memory for me
This feels like a giant bit. Schlatt started out saying he’s a massive cartoon fan, particularly Cartoon Network, then proceeds to rank Ed, Edd and Eddy and Dexter as F, says Dexter is the Jimmy Neutron for psychopaths, and then gives iCarly an A after acknowledging Dan Schneider’s foot fetish?? Wtf man
Praise Ted for calling KISS a metal band then immediately correcting himself to calling them a rock band 🙏🏻
Regular show is great man, its lowkey one of best shows on cn, as it tackles mostly adult topics, making it arguably the most timeless cartoons.
Tom and Jerry get 10x more sad when you realize why Tom was always chasing Jerry but never got him
I love randomly getting jumpscared by tucker.
I personally would’ve added Gravity Falls to this list, and I would’ve put it somewhere higher up (B-S range) purely for the overarching story that it told. Super good stuff, and we’ll crafted tier list as well IMO
I'm hurt by the Ed, Edd and Eddy disrespect but Courage being immediately brought up to S fixed it.
I love how Ted doesn't like Tom and Jerry because it's repetitive but likes Phineas and Ferb
this podcast is so funny! i love listening to it whilst i wallow in my self pity.
@Thank me later Let's be honest here no one fucking cares
Grumm
I straight up forget they are like 2yrs older than me. I hear all these shows and I refuse to believe these men had the same child hood as me.
As a Danny Phantom stan, I can respect the B rank, because I know that the show has room for improvement (looking at you season 3). But waiting till the end of the video for the rank had me SWEATING.
Them putting Ed, Edd and Eddy in F but complimenting Johnny Test says a lot about the content of their character
Definitely, rich parents vibe
“Ben 10 wasn’t racist, he was xenophobic” - Ted Nivison
Its amazing how me being older by just 3 years seems to completely change my opinions on so many shows
how? Im 3-4 years younger and grew up the same as them all cause were all close in age
whenever i see cartoon tier lists im always shocked when catdog, ren and stimpy, and camp lazlo weren’t included
Oh yeah, I thought about Ren and stimpy when they mentioned "mustiness" and decided they'll just mention it later, but they didn't! And I completely forgot about catdog, which was kinda cursed from my experience watching it
schlatt being scared of shows like kids next door and ed edd n eddy is so real i can’t believe other ppl felt like that 😂
as someone who has seen all of the actual beautifully written characters and artistic endeavour that Adventure Time unfolded to be, it physically pains me to see it placed in the same tier as fucking Hannah Montana
hannah montana was a cinematic masterpeice
@@oliviaplumb4018 nah it wasnt. we just liked the concept
Okay, when you put it like that it actually sounds funny.
This video has made me realize how much Schlatt is dedicated to his manbaby character
1:12:17 tom and jerry were friends but toms owner wanted him to kill the mouse in the walls. so every day he pretended to do his best at chasing jerry, but never hurting him. thats the whole show :)
This is the best podcast to listen to while drinking alone before noon
you are so right
Are u ok bro do u need a hug
Schlatt’s Courage the Cowardly Dog impression is SPOT ON. So funny. 😂
The unhinged vibes behind the musty cartoons is what drew me to them in the first place. Still love them today 11/10
yeah Ed Edd n Eddy remains one of my favorite cartoons ever despite the musty vibes
As an avid adventure time enjoyer I can understand schlatts ranking 😭 the lore is way more dense than you would expect from a cartoon, and you really do have to watch all of it to appreciate it fully
Also Malcom in the middle is S tier that's based af
well, what's the other option? NOT watching all of it? what kinda nincompoop would start a 9 season show and not be able to appreciate it. having said that, AT is S+
@@zzeroara9511 agreed 🤝
I recently just rewatched it. Still one of my favorite shows, but it's definitely way too long and a lot of the episodes are meh at best. But the actual lore episodes, especially in the later seasons, are top tier
I wish i was an audio listener so i could have just told myself some of these takes were bits, cause wow. Adventure time less than A , fosters not being S, unreal. No matter how many times Ted breaks my knees I will stand by that.
I'm with you, dude. The ratong made me feel very grum
i love that they mention quintons video on victorious. i enjoyed that video essay more than i could have ever enjoyed the show
