My husband just got stationed here in Tampa and passed this property and would have never guessed this could be public housing.. They so much nicer than NYC projects !

Man Tampa changed my life I remember about 4 to 5 years ago I moved there with a friend I left my job my everything and when we got to Tampa my friend set me up and left me there..I slept in my car and finally got a job at the casino I washed at Wawas gas station until this lady helped me one day I went to church every day to change my life because I knew it was nobody but God who watched out for me because I couldn't go back home to Miami like that and from there on I moved here to Pennsylvania and doing so good.. but its some good ppl there as well and churches I use to also sleep in the projects parking lots so I'm thankful
Hey Lady! You know you can go to school and become a Real Estate Agent in your area! You know it so well! Take the class and challenge the test! I did and I passed it after my 4th try! Don't give up and study! I watched you video when you gave the tour of some of the Tampa public housing and you sounded like a Real Estate Agent! I live in Florida also close to Daytona!

I appreciate the education! I live in income based apartments. As a single working gal I am grateful. Last year I had 2 surgeries. I was able to work very little. So my rent went from 500.00 to an affordable 190.00 as a single girl my illness would of bankrupted me had I lived in market value housing.

@@PeachMcIntyre Ty! I'm still healing! I always tell people what the cause was of my surgeries. It's a cautionary tale! I had left work early one friday with a temperature. I thought I had the flu! I huge enclosed boil popped up on my stomach that was extremely painful. I had a high temp but after 4 days went to the ER thinking they'd pop this boil thing on my stomach and send me home. What I didnt know was that I was completely Septic. The area on my tummy that I'd only looked at once......had turned Black! I had Necrotizing fasciitis....flesh eating bacteria caused by staph that lives on our skin! Moral of the story if you live alone and have a temp over 101 for 24 hours run your Rear to the Dr! I'm lucky to be alive! Ok if your reading this remember what I just wrote especially if you Live Alone!!

Yes. Even in the middle of NY & FL in Tennessee. The public housings def aren't even close to that nice. There not dirty dirty they have potential. But nothing as nice. I'd say 3*

I remember back in 2004 we came to Florida to visit my siblings in Tampa. My Dad was looking for the Hillsborough Projects which wasn't far from my sister's house. The cashier was like sir how long has it been since you been in Florida! I looked at the cashier and was like since my brother got married in 1998. That poor boy laughed at us and was like sir you standing in the middle of the project 🤣🤣🤣

My goodness, the low income housing looks like a beautiful suburb! The low income housing here in Melbourne, Australia are so incredibly run down! Most of them are these cramped 1950/1960’s square apartment buildings that were originally built as temporary accomodation for the Olympic athletes way back when 🤦🏻♀️ the areas they’re in are usually not particularly safe and there’s a lot of drug use and theft in the majority of the blocks 😔

Hi peach im new to your channel its very interesting how housing works in USA, here in uk me,partner & 2 kids used to live in a 2 bed flat it were awful,noisey neighbours,drugs, etc. We waited 6 years on housing list til we finally got a 3 bed house we couldnt believe it ,been here 3 years now.x
Amen....up north these same units are sold as townhouses and you pay for water, heat & electric. As I travel south, these same apartment units are considered rentals/ public housing. 💖

Love this woman, she speaks nothing but truth! 💙 where I live they're currently buying & tearing down almost all of the public housing properties BUT they aren't rebuilding so that the people in public housing can come back. They give them section 8 vouchers and a little time to find a place in the county. They tore down the school that was walking distance and put multiple business that the folks that live in public housing don't feel comfortable going and they're building homes and apartments none of them could afford. 🤦🏽♀️
I'm in Cali and ours is nice its a 3 bedroom townhouse in a culdisac with 14 townhomes. But in ours when you work you get on a fss program you graduate from the program in 6 years and they match your paychecks for those years & give you the money in escrow then you get the 1st time homeowners which gives you another 50,000 to 200,000 check so you can buy a house. All the while you live there you go to mandatory credit building classes so your credit score will be A1. Also have parenting classes, job readiness,counseling, & will pay for you a car & help with getting drivers ed and your drivers license. So once you leave you won't have to come back.

I used to ROCK that tether ball! In 1st grade I would beat 6th graders! It's an awesome fun game. We moved from N. CA to N. NJ, where they had never heard of tether ball! My mom paid to have two installed on my public school's property! I was in heaven!!!
True. It's getting better though with the new low income based properties being built. But a housing choice voucher is best to obtain. Better newly renovated and redeveloped properties and houses to choose from or port to another county or state. Also the opportunity to just buy a home at a subsidized price.

Tampa Fl is my home also. Peach M did a wonderful job showing Oaks at Riverview. Thought I'd mention. There's 100's apts being built daily like this. I think Oak at Riverview is about 10 yrs old. Like these newer projects my mom live In downtown Tampa called (The Encore) with these apt names. Trio, & Tempo both for families ages 18 yrs & above with 1,2,3,4,5, Bd. Then Ella & Reed for ages 55 plus 1 & 2 Bd. There's everything u need at your finger tips, from cruise ships, grocery shopping, hospital, u name it. All in walking distance.
I hope the tenants of these apts and homes keep it nice. I see to many public housing go down that's the problem people move in some care and some dont property goes down and some management companies care and some just dont care. And u say young girls cant get a place tell them to keep there pants on. Great Video
I grew up on Kirby in RVT. You're right.. We didn't go further than that store /gas station and over the bridge by the tower lol I went to Grover Cleveland. RVT BORN IN RAISED, NOW I'M NYC. Wonderful childhood there. Alot of lessons
Child the projects in New Jersey didn’t look like this. They were anywhere from 3 to 12 stories high all 🧱. They tore them down about 20 yrs ago, and put town houses up, but they aren’t as nice, and well kept like yours. I definitely would mine living there nice video😊

Hi peach im new to your channel its very interesting how housing works in USA, here in uk me,partner & 2 kids used to live in a 2 bed flat it were awful,noisey neighbours,drugs, etc. We waited 6 years on housing list til we finally got a 3 bed house we couldnt believe it ,been here 3 years now.x
IT'S SO HARD TO GET INTO PUBLIC HOUSING HERE IN BIG CITIES. A FAMILY MEMBER OF MINE WAITED 13 YEARS.
Amen....up north these same units are sold as townhouses and you pay for water, heat & electric. As I travel south, these same apartment units are considered rentals/ public housing. 💖

Love this woman, she speaks nothing but truth! 💙 where I live they're currently buying & tearing down almost all of the public housing properties BUT they aren't rebuilding so that the people in public housing can come back.
They give them section 8 vouchers and a little time to find a place in the county. They tore down the school that was walking distance and put multiple business that the folks that live in public housing don't feel comfortable going and they're building homes and apartments none of them could afford. 🤦🏽♀️

I'm in Cali and ours is nice its a 3 bedroom townhouse in a culdisac with 14 townhomes. But in ours when you work you get on a fss program you graduate from the program in 6 years and they match your paychecks for those years & give you the money in escrow then you get the 1st time homeowners which gives you another 50,000 to 200,000 check so you can buy a house. All the while you live there you go to mandatory credit building classes so your credit score will be A1. Also have parenting classes, job readiness,counseling, & will pay for you a car & help with getting drivers ed and your drivers license. So once you leave you won't have to come back.

I used to ROCK that tether ball! In 1st grade I would beat 6th graders! It's an awesome fun game. We moved from N. CA to N. NJ, where they had never heard of tether ball! My mom paid to have two installed on my public school's property! I was in heaven!!!

True. It's getting better though with the new low income based properties being built. But a housing choice voucher is best to obtain. Better newly renovated and redeveloped properties and houses to choose from or port to another county or state. Also the opportunity to just buy a home at a subsidized price.

Tampa Fl is my home also. Peach M did a wonderful job showing Oaks at Riverview. Thought I'd mention. There's 100's apts being built daily like this. I think Oak at Riverview is about 10 yrs old. Like these newer projects my mom live In downtown Tampa called (The Encore) with these apt names. Trio, & Tempo both for families ages 18 yrs & above with 1,2,3,4,5, Bd. Then Ella & Reed for ages 55 plus 1 & 2 Bd. There's everything u need at your finger tips, from cruise ships, grocery shopping, hospital, u name it. All in walking distance.

I see to many public housing go down that's the problem people move in some care and some dont property goes down and some management companies care and some just dont care. I grew up on Kirby in RVT. You're right.. We didn't go further than that store /gas station and over the bridge by the tower lol I went to Grover Cleveland. RVT BORN IN RAISED, NOW I'M NYC. Wonderful childhood there. Alot of lessons
Child the projects in New Jersey didn’t look like this. They were anywhere from 3 to 12 stories high all 🧱. They tore them down about 20 yrs ago, and put town houses up, but they aren’t as nice, and well kept like yours. I definitely would mine living there nice video😊
