I recall hearing that Glen Benton was one of the people considered to replace David Vincent back in 1996. Morbid Angel also allegedly considered Mauricio Iacono at Kataklysm at the time as well.
Thank fuck Mauricio wasn't offered the spot, not bashing him but his voice would not be suitable. Tucker was the next step in evolving the sound in the same direction, more evil and more intense.
@rottenroth I didn't say he was offered the spot. Steve was the only person actually called in to do an audition. Needless to say, he passed. But at the time, several people were considered.
@@drunkthrone_ he didnt say the exact details but he did mention the MA guys referring to the Deicide name as Penis-cide. He kept dogging on Dave Vincent. Trash talking aside it was a great show, DEICIDE/ CANCER/ DEMOLITION HAMMER. My only complaint was that Deicide didnt play, In Hell I Burn. Otherwise they would have played the whole Legion album.
I love Glens' bass solos.
I wish you would have dug in to that situation deeper. That sounded like an interesting bit of death metal history…

Sammy Hagar was considered by Pantera to replace Phil Anselmo but he turned down the offer believe it or not
@@stanleyipkis1177 You actually believe that shit?

Mauricio was in his rap phase by that point, and had quit bass as far as I remember, Kataklysms first 2 are the only real kataklysm albums.

This is incredible.
Had to be 2018 or something like that. They said fuck the HOB and played a random place in Anaheim, CA 🤘🏽
Awesome!!! 🔥💀🔥 👍
I thought Deicide and MA didn't get along.
Yes, back on the Legion tour, I talked with Glen and he voiced his displeasure with the MA guys
What’s the story on that?
