I own the 2018 Sport, 6th bike. Raced Motocross at one timer. This review is spot on. It's a bad ass all around keeper. You get what you pay for.

Yep, I am 58 and began riding at age ten on a Honda XR 75, and this Ducati scrambler is my favorite of seven bikes i own and yes it is comfy for an oldie, but the sport model 1100 and the 803 nightshift with straight handlebars are more lean-forward a bit, but not overly uncomfortable, i did 3 hour drives on my nightshift with straight bars no problem no leg ache no back ache. The other models have more raised bars and are more comfy

I bought the 2018 model new and it was a very very capable twisties bike especially when I stuck sporty tires on the brakes were amazing and I also had SC project exhaust that made it sound incredible. The engine was exactly like mark is explaining to the tee,, great review

I agree: I have the 1100 Special (2018) with full Akrapovič exhaust and quite a lot of other mods. I love it 👌🏼 very underestimated bike, which makes me love it even more, since I like being unique 😉

I have a nightshift and a cafe racer 803 cc and now you are tempting me to get an 1100 too. I have seven bikes and the two Ducati scrams are the ones i go for mostly when i go out for a ride. They are phenomenal bikes

Great review, bit late to the party on this one. Not sure how I missed it. Was checking out the latest scrambler concepts revealed at this years Bike Shed show & was reminded of this. I really like the idea of the big lazy torquey engine & premium chassis.

Excellent review Mark. Thanks for your video. I just bought the lower end model 2022 left over at the dealer for a heavy discount. Price was $10k (US) and waived dealer fees so I thought it was definitely worth it. It does get hot in the crotch when you're stopped because you're sitting on top of a cylinder that's not venting well. I would hate to feel it during summer. Also throttle in the riding modes is kind of weird. If you hold the throttle steady for a while and then try to accelerate, it does not actually do it or is not consistent. You have to start throttle roll from the beginning. I'll play around with it for a while.

Fabulous vlog, as ever, thanks. I do think that this bike represents the essence of the lack of value for money by Ducati. It might be a premium bike, but the cost, with it's grubby LCD dash, is way beyond what it offers. Over £14k is, to me, ridiculous. I wonder how many of these D has sold in the UK? I bet it's not in three figures, possibly not even 2. Ever since I rode a 999 on bike day in Brighton, I've had a real love of their bikes. But, like, to a lesser extent, Triumph, they charge as much as they possibly can, in all aspects of ownership, and are a hard company to have any affection for.

I couldn't agree more about the lack of value. That's a pretty basic engine for 14k. The only premium feature is the badge.

  • @genewong8204

Good review. From experience, the only Scrambler I’d own is the Sport Pro with the Ohlin shocks. The standard suspension on both the 800 and 1100 models are budget and very unforgiving. Right now I’m trying to decide between the Scrambler Sport Pro or the new R12 NineT.

Great vlog as ever Mark. The fit and finish does look premium, but oh dear, that offset dash. I don't know why some bikes have them, but it is a deal breaker for me. Another thing I noticed is Ducati haven't put their name on the tank, which seems very odd.

Hi Mark highly desirable but the dash. I am old but I like my twin clocks. I have a vstrom with single unit but very readable. Its like RE I think twin clocks very ergonomic. Bonneville t100 and speed twin have beauties and I think would have finished this beauty so much more. Thanks for usual quality insight. A lot of comments on people i follow saying dealers charging +£100 ph spannering + vat means me doing it and Ducatis are above my skill level

  • @user-sw2lv3zp6o

You don't see many of these around, at least in Thailand, but I suspect England. Possibly the best bike of its type there is. I like the look of the yellow one. Traditional colours. I'm not keen on the loft-conversion dial. You are right. It's all about the engine, but it's a stunning-looking bike. How long until a valve clearance check?

    • @markpulling12

Hi Gavin...well both are 5 star bikes ...the 636 revs forever being inline 4 the rs has more torque at low revs being a twin ...the 636 has a more extreme riding position...both are very fast but the ninja wins in the hp figures ...I had the 636 for 2 years absolutely brilliant...but I'd love the aprilia one day

Cornering ABS on a Scrambler 😅 only joking 😅 we all know it's not a Scrambler, it doesn't have mudguards, well not proper mudguards that stop mud and dirt.
If you study this bike you begin to wonder, how would you keep it clean.
That Beautiful big 1100cc motor and radiator look very exposed.
The small tank means you won't get that far before the big 1100cc get thirsty so not touring friendly.
The tires might come in handy if your riding down a country lane at 130mph 😅
but no worries braking if a farmer pulls out.
I love the Ducati but this model wouldn't suit me.
    Love the Motor and brakes.

Its only eyesore being that cheap-looking, early-2000s style, grey plastic display bezel. Dark grey, black or chrome would look infinitely better. Oh, and those retro chic graphics on top of the tank are rather naff and will soon be looking dated.
