Paula Severeyn Ranomi has the best individual 100m free time but Netherlands touched the wall in 6th and that's what matters. Ranomi made up one spot on her leg.

Paula Severeyn Yes, Ranomi is better than Allison, but it doesn't matter in case of relay ;-)

Those 2012 US medley relay teams were ridiculous. This women's team had two gold medalists in the individual 100m events and a silver medalist (plus Allison Schmidt, who didn't swim the individual 100m but won the 200m by like three seconds). Somehow the men's team was even better with three individual 100m gold medalists and an individual bronze.
The USA is always fairly strong, but I think it'll be decades before we see a team as good as that one.

At 66 y/o, & having vivid memories of both Summer / Winter Olympics over the years, as much as I loved watching our Ladies compete & win,. it is even more gratifying knowing that these swimmers, as with the lady sprinters, ARE CLEAN ! No steroids, GH, or other short cuts taken. When you look at , listen to, & see them compete, we are watching women--REAL women, & that to me, is just so gratifying. Well done American women, you did us proud!! Wolfsky9, 66 y/o now.

i think the Tokyo team could beat this team, maybe by around 2 seconds. Predictions: Smith 57 low/56 high, King 1:04 low/1:03 high, Dahlia 56 low/55 high, Manuel 51 mid/high

Soni looks like she's got a turbo in lane 6. Her crew chief, Sean Belt, called her "Turbo Up"

With this comment you already have disqualified yourself.. I am sure if it wasn't the USA winning the gold, you would not say anything..Face it ,the USA is the greatest swimming nation on Earth and this since Ester Williams.

We drew lane 6 this time. I ran in lane 6 and was last in that particular lane.
