Try it and don't unplug the tv, just hold the power button on the tv or remote for how many it will take when it's off.

Didn't work for me after trying 5 times, BUT furiously turning it on and off for about 1 minute using the remote finally fixed it! This probably helps too for discharging the static electricity build up in the TV. Thanks for this!

Good video. Happened to me with g3 today and got very scared. Fortunately it worked again after I unplugged tv and reconnected.
