THANK YOU, from Sudbury On. Canada. My 3-year-old 40'' lg just did this and after watching your repair I tried this since it was going in the garbage. It took me 2 hrs. but time well spent. Mine was the bottom ribbon at the very bottom. Picture is back to normal, thanks again.
I went to my parents in law and after many attempts I succeeded in fixing their LG TV using this method. They couldn't be more happy, huge thanks kind man!
Brother thank you so much! In a world of takers you are a giver. Wasted so much time watching useless videos but decided to search one last time before heading to the dump. Hated the thought of adding to a landfill and this worked like a charm. Would love to donate a small token of my appreciation if you have a donation account - let me know!

Works fine on 43um7100plb. Cracking the case open is a bit unnerving, needs a bit more force than feels comfy. Covered 15 pins exactly as seen in video, used the print on the ribbon cable for guidance and got it on first try. Used ordinary stationary tape. 10 minute fix. Thank you!
Thank you so so much! My LG Tv screen went black a couple of days ago, while I was watching tv. Still had sound and backlight. So I looked online, and found a lot of people backing their motherboard in the oven for 10 minutes. Tried it, but it didn't work. And then today, your video was suggested by UA-cam, so I tried it, and it worked perfectly! Had the same result as you did, moved a bit of electrical tape around, and voilà! I did not succeed at first, because my tape was a bit too large, then I saw that the cable was actualy split in several ribbons further down. So I matched the width of tape to the with of a ribon, then placed it at the "end" of each one. The last one finally did the trick! Thank you again! I still can't believe that a tiny piece of tape saved me hundreds... And I would not have tried it without your help! ❤
This video has literally saved me hundreds on a new tv!!. Tried this on my 43 inch and after moving tape around I got it back up and running with no lines!!!
Wow! I have two LG TVs of the same model (43UK6300) that weren't working-they both had black screens but good sound. I tried replacing the main board and power board, but all my attempts failed. I nearly gave up on repairing them and was planning to discard them. As a last attempt, I did the same thing as shown here, and I managed to fix both TVs! This is excellent-thank you so much!
Unbelievable .. it's bloody worked !! .. took me about 12 movements of the tape and needed to try both sides .. but it worked !! I honestly can't thank you enough .. I'm literally skint and the last thing I needed was to have to buy a new tv .. thankyou so so much x
Omg can't believe I've just fixed my 55" doing this took a few attempts at moving the maskin tape but it works again been sitting for over a year thank you so much !
Briliant video. Just tried this on my LG 43uk6300plb and it worked. I had a white screen issue and it turned out to be an issue with the same ribbon cable as the one in the video. I stuck ordinary cellotale in the exact same position as he did and it worked on first attempt. Thank you so much for making this video. Youve saved me the expense of a new TV. 😊
To this day this tutorial holds up. Took me slightly longer than the others who have commented but after 20minutes watching tv the lines and flickering have gone. Back to normal. Great video!!
I carried out your method and it worked perfectly initially. Then after several minutes the bottom 3 to 4” horizontally a line appeared so I narrowed the tape a little and retried and the horizontal line disappeared and now the TV is back to normal. First time to do this repair on a LG TV normally Samsung TVs has the majority of problems. Many thanks for your great upload 👍👏🏴👍👏🏴
Had a 55" LG UK6090PUA that had this issue and this video got it working again like an absolute charm. Who knew a piece of tape could allow me to use the TV again. My sincerest thank you!
I was faced with the same Problem with my "LG 55uk6300llb"... Backlight ON, Sound, but no visbile Picture at all... Opened it up to see if theres any visible damage or something, did not see anything... Then i was about to buy a new Mainboard but my Ebay login wasnt working because i did not recieve my login SMS (Phone battery was empty...) - Then i just looked around on UA-cam and found your video... I had seen all the positive comments so i tried it... I had like 10 tries an now my tv works fine again... In my case it was the lower cable and i taped it on the lower side (like 12 or 15 pins). Thank you for your great video! You saved me like 1.000 bucks for a new TV buddy!!!
Not all Heros wear caps! Guaranteed to work ! I pray anyone having trouble with similar problem find this video... honestly.... I fixed my own just listening and watching! Love love love it!
Came home yesterday to find one of our lg tvs was broken exactly the same symptoms, so straightway ordered a new tv then later last night found your video so i give it a try today and thank you so much it worked just as you explained, top work thanks again
I replaced both boards in my lg tv and it didn’t fix this problem. Your video saved it! Took a good 30 minutes messing around before I figured out where exactly to tape, my problem was the red connector. But we’re back up watching our tv!
Unbelievable!!! I'm not a person writing reviews bad or good but I have to write as this fellow is amazing. literally I just ordered a main board when I found this guy's video so i just checked it out and he was spot on right and with a piece of tape my TV was fixed. Mine and my girlfriend's jaw just dropped :) Well done mate!!! and a big thanks
I was very sceptical about this working (how can the screen work properly with pin’s covered - surely it needs these pins to work) but I would be throwing my TV out anyway so thought I’ve nothing to loose. Mine had the same fault as the video and I covered the same pins and my tv came back to life. Amazing!! With all these videos showing the same fault there must be an issue with this screen.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Bless you 🙏🏻 It's people like you that make this world a better place. When these huge companies assume us regular people can continuously "buy new", "buy new", to the extent where they place literal traps built into their TVs. I bet that's a big reason LG went out of business. Either people got wise or STRAIGHT KARMA hit them. Either way, it's a shameful practice. I have to believe you know this as well, and you didn't stand for it. You stood for us. So I cannot thank you enough. God bless you my friend 🙏🏻 P.S. This method also worked for the 75 inch - (as mine was)...❤
Worked on 55UK6950PLB! On my case was on the left cable (red one) and put captain tape on de left side and worked first time! 4 year TV and the problems started... Many thanks for sharing the solution!
Bro thank you so much !!! I thought i will need to buy a new TV because suddenly while watching smth screen went black but with your help my TV Works again ! Love from Poland brother 🤍🤍
Nice, had the same problem and already figured out that MB probably wasn't the problem 'cause TV was still detectable via bluetooth... Put a peace of tape on the same location as in the video on the first try and immediately the tv came back to life. Thanks for sharing this tip!
Ha, with perseverance it worked. After giving up yesterday I tried again today and after trying all possible areas....on both cables, nothing. I changed from regular tape to masking tape today too. Then, one final try, I trimmed down the tape to half the size in your video and....I had a picture, very bright and white but yay. I knew I was close. I moved the tape ever so slightly and bam. Perfect.
So much more helpful than any TV company I tried to speak to! Super helpful and saved me (and by the looks of it loads of others) a lot of money on a new TV! Thank you very much!
Thank you! It works! It's incredible, with only a little piece of tape! My TV had the same problem, so at first I put the tape exactly in the same place as yours: it works at the first try! Thank you for uploading this video!
I was about to buy a new control board. I did your method and the TV works again. Thank you. You saved me £50. Here's a bottle of vodka. How to get it to you.
i dont normally comment on videos, and i think this is my 1st time to comment on a video... bro YOU JUST SAVE MY MONEY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!! 2 Technicians checked and they said its the mother board and the other one said its the LCD they said better to buy. new one... luckily i watch your video... thank you again God bless you
Hello, thanks so much. I got the blank screen out of the blue today, I tried your method and after a lot of tries I managed to get the image back. Unfortunately, for some reason, the left part of the screen remained a little yellow. Not much of an issue now but I'm absolutely stunned that it worked!
Had the same issue, black screen, but backlight. Wife wanted to trash it, but i kept it. Tried a few rounds, and then, picture! Was too bright, so i cut a little bit of the tape, to cover less pins and voilá! Fixed!

@@thomasmaris497its the right hand side or the left hand side try both, but you only enough tape to cover pins with just a piece of scotch tape, the same tape you’d use to wrap Christmas presents with. Just fixed mine.

La technique fonctionne si vous avez le même modèle de TV. On peut effectivement utiliser un autre type de scotch que le sien. Just fixed a LG (43UK6300BUB) TV this way! It ended up being the bottom ribbon cable and I covered about 12pins with some masking tape (looks like he had 15 or 16 pins covered in the video). I left 2 pins on the edge exposed as the picture quality was the most stable. If I covered the edge pins the picture lighting would fluctuate.. Thanks for the help!

This video made my day , i just tried this on my 55inch LG and it just worked . Thanks
This is just utterly incredible. No idea how it works but it does - seemingly the most unlikely of fixes but therefore the most satisfactory!
I’d really want to understand how it works ! But it worked for me ! It was awesome

But what is the problem here? How it is working by blocking some pins?
Will it work for LG 43UM778O PTA?
No clue why it works. Those pins may be shorting something out? Only one way to find out 🔧
