- I fixed a LG TV that has Black Screen that is Caused by the LCD Panel Itself. This TV has all good working parts except the LCD Panel itself. I fixed it or did a remedy by using the Tape Method.
This kind of problems are a bit common to 4K LCD Panels.
TV MODEL :43UM6910PUA
You sir are a genius I'm adding tv repair guy to my resume lol took awhile but i fixed it 😊
Your a good man. Thank you for showing us how to trouble shoot it. I got mine working
I don’t know how to say thanks to you bro❤ because of you i fixed my tv. Hats off
You're Welcome Bro! 😊
I also solved the problem, you are a genius and I thank you infinitely. The world will be truly free when tricks like this will be included in user manuals.
Happy to help
Thank you Atan for the easy to follow tutorial, you helped me fix my parents TV in less than an hr!!!
Man, you are a hero!! I have tried everything with no success!! I was about to throw the TV in the garbage, but I gave it this last shot...and it worked flawless!! Awesome job!!
I rarely comment, but you 100% deserve to know how happy you made me! My tv works again and it’s such a good feeling to go from a 32 inch back to my 43 inch tv :)
Thank you very much. As for many other users, you saved my TV with a simple step :)
So far it's the best explanation how to apply the tape. That I have seen
same
I have a 42 inch tv that has been standing outside for a couple of weeks coz it suddenly stopped showing the picture, so I was gonna throw it away. But then I saw your video and thought I might aswell give it a try.
My tv is a lot more complicatet that the one you showed, but I could still use the same principals as you showed, so I was still able to narrow down where the problem was.... AND IT WORKED 😀 Thank you so much for this helpful information 😊
Im glad it helped you Bro!
It's working for my tv LG 55 " after following your instructions on UA-cam, Thanks a lot brother.
Nice job, can you tell me if it could work on a Sony Bravia
Hello Mr. Atan, i have a 86 inches LG TV which has backlight/background light but no images. After following your methods and tested all the ribbon cables, i don't see any centre line, it is still the same background light but no image. Would you mind advise what could be the problem? Thank you.
Thanks Atan , great demo . I m having this problem right now and searching for a 27:49 solution .this might be it . Appreciate it
Thanks man. It worked 🎉
This actually worked. Bad design on LG's part. It's obviously a common problem, and the TV should be able to identify the shorted pin and exclude it as a fail safe instead of just shutting down the whole signal. Most people won't try to fix this and will junk a perfectly good TV.
Once I found the problem area I had to do a REALLY small piece of tape or else it blocked too much of the signal and I could see lines on the screen. Got it working and it looks great. Thank you!
Glad it helped! You're Welcome!
You're a lifesaver!!! Literally just saved me over a thousand pounds o replace my 65'.
Managed to fix it. Covered 2 pins and all is good but there is another issue..... Half of the screen is slightly darker and u can see that screen is gently flashing. Thats normal effects? Or maybe i coverde wrong pins. Thanks for any help. Regards
That slightly dark and a little flashing could happen on some tvs and some model of tvs. Since different tvs have different designs so the pins that are shorted or has the problem has different functions and adjacent pins closest to it.
That slight datk and flashing after effects are normal in some situations because we are blocking signals that are supposed to reach the LCD panel.
There is 50 to 60 percent chance that everything will work perfect if we block connections going to the panel. Assuming that you covered only the pins that are needed to cover.
Its a lot of pins! I have pin issues with my iPhone. Those pins the lines in the connections. Works but less optimal display? Or will it help get everything back to normal. That being said. This is a real fix or a temporary fix fix until you can get a new one or if this works how long will it last possibly? Just asking. Make a new video showing how this tv still works
Mmm, i have a question, if i change mather borad, the problem Will be fixed?
Like a zip tie. I think ur trying too say ( disconnecting the ribbon wire from the bottom of tv versus the spot in the middle of tv where they are connected. I think thats what you meant. 🤷♂️👍 my tv is doing the same thing starting last night. Got a tv from pawn shop and now trying to see if i can save my Lg tv still.
Thanks brother.. i tried this to my LG tv.. that works.. that cable was problem..before this, i sent my tv to workshop.. they told to me that i need to change my tv because of screen problem.. 😂
Glad it helped. Thanks
I'm having same issue. The technician told me i'ld have to buy new screen😢 which is almost the money I bought it .
Pls tell me how you fixed yours🙏
Just curious, why not change thr entire cable?
We cannot just replace the cable because the real problem is in the LCD panel itself. What we can do is just block some connections going to the lcd panel.
Can we replace the power board itself?
@@sherifelkhouly3345 some problem caused by defectic lcd screen itself while other might cause from power board or even mainboard.
Can I change the cable completely
Omg it’s working 🔥🔥🙏🏽🙏🏽
Im glad it helped you
bro, where is the TCON of this LG TV model? thanks
Disconnecting power worked for me. Thanks!
Great! You're Welcome.
How long do you think is going to work, after this "repairation"? Should I put some money for another TV in the short future?
It depends on the tv model. Some could last for a very long time some won't.
Hi, I watched your video and almost narrow down the problem.. it is similar as per your video.. if I replace the display board will help to resolve the problem?..
You’re a life saver!! My tv now works! Next question is it the board pins that are bad or is it the ribbon cables that are bad?
Miracle worker! Thank you SO MUCH, Atan!!!
Thanks a million for this solution. One third of the screen is now visible. What is that cable called? Can it be replace rather than masking some parts of the pin?.
Nope, you cannot just replace the cable because the problem is in the LCD panel itself. What we can do is just block the connection that is going to that defective portion of the LCD panel that is why we cover some pins.
Hello and thank you for your help with this nice video tutorial about problem with LG TV's. But it's possible to open and repair LCD electronic part inside display itself?
does this applies on all brand of tv?
You try to fix Lg 42ln5300 same this problem Thank you
how many pin did you cover
It did worked for me today thank you so much! ☺️
You're welcome!
You're welcome! Glad it worked
When I disconnect one side at a time on mine, I still don't get the 1/2 picture you had just a plain black screen. Do you think this repair method still might work on mine? Also is there any way to test the main board to know for sure if the problem is the board or the LCD panel? Thanks
Can backlight issues be fixed ?
Good job! You are so easy to open the back cover after removing all the screws!
I am also using a LG43"tv of model 43UM7400, but I found it very difficulty to open the back cover at the place near the light senser (it seems that there is screwed) could you please show me at this point?
Hi there, you just have to pry it with a little bit of force. Dont be afraid to apply some force just dont overdo it because you might damage the buffer board
I will try this method
All the best
I hope it helps
This trick worked only half for me. My tv screen’s left side got only half fixed, the other half is still blank, that too when i narrowed down to just 2 pins that are faulty, its so very difficult to cut tape of that small length and apply it. What should i do now?
That commercial for i think, mickey 17 it was called, it seems decent but it’s a different version of a similar movie that tom cruised did but a lot of ppl don’t care for Scientology so he lost a lot of fans but most ppl genuinely actually care about their technology they bought and when taking care of your things to watch them not work no matter what you do or have done is an issue!
Is it difficult to find a new ribbon cable by new one ??
mine is having a tcon board how do I Fix it
Thanks brother, i got my TV working after i was planning to give up on it.
Glad it helped bro
can we do it together on video call I have LG 65 inch and it has that problem 🙏
Hi bro , it worked for my toshiba tv , how to permanently get this repaired . There are some horizontal lines on the tv but from far it’s not that visible
❤❤❤ thankyou so much bro
Tq... MY TV PROBLEM SETTLE WITH YOU TUTORIAL SIR. GOD BLESS U
Thank you sir! God bless you!🙌🏾
My lg 49u has the same problem right now which is black screen, sometimes the LG logo will appear and immediately fade.
Can i replace the whole flex or ribbon?😊
Hi, I think Your specific problem is different from this. And I cannot recommend anything if I haven't tested the TV myself. This TV I fixed dont show the Logo at all times
Did u ever find the solution because if the lg log pops up for me it’ll work fine sometimes
@@jayredd5614 I cannot really tell what is the problem unless I tested your particular TV. But here are some guesses that could be the culprit; 1. Leaky LCD SCreen/ Buffer Boards 2. Main Board Problem / Solder problem in the BGA ICs. 3. Leaky LED in Backlight Strips 4. PSU Unit 5. Loose Ribbon Cables. So as we can see it is really hard to say what is the problem if the TV is not thoroughly tested.
Thank you very² much... Bro... Using this video i fix/repair my LG Tv Web os, the problem is just the same i do the same practice like you did. And now the TV is working well like before.
What do I do if my back light don't come on?
You are doing best,
Can you support me my LG 43LH548V-TA Tv was black screened ,no picture and no sound?
Might try this ..wish me luck
Thanks brother
You're Welcome Bro
Wow.. Thank you dude.. Really appreciate it.. My tv back alive
Glad it helped you bro
Thank you very much. Tried this fix today and it worked. A sub is the least I could do 👍🏾
You are welcome bro. And I'm glad it helped you.
Thanks bro. Mine works though half of the screen where the issue is coming from is a bit dark(noticeable when movie lighting is bright) but a side from this, no other issues. I might have covered the good pins which you mentioned.
Im glad it helped. Yes on some TV models we cannot fully restore the picture to perfect condition.
Thank you brother for this lesson. 😊
Welcome!
You are the Man ! It works. I have checked 3 similar videos and could not find which side or how many contact to cover and why. This video gives me path how to find exactly contact to cover. Thanks a lot. LG 43UK6300PLB 👏
Work for mine, but the location is in the middle. But i got new problem, now i got black screen in the middle, i think it is the tape location. Do you have any advice.
If you still have lots of pins covered by tape it could cause that black vertical strip. Narrow your tape to the minimum.
Also it could be a bad COF IC that is causing that problem. It could also be that the vertical strip is the original problem which is a result from either a bad COF or LCD panel and since you covered the connection going to it with tape, now the TV shows picture and at the same time it shows the problem itself.
Hi can you help me. I tried your method but it keeps flickering
Good job my friend you save me 😅😅😅
Glad it helped you Bro
Good job
Thanks bro
Does it matter what kind of tape you use?
Yes it matters, The tape must not be very thick like the e-tape. You can use a good quality masking tape on this one. Dont also use a tape that has too much adhesive because it could possibly make some distortions on the video signal.
@@atanbajan Thank you for the info. I'll try it tonight!
Great! Good Luck man
It worked yes but after a few seconds it goes right back out. What am I doing wrong?
It seems that it is screwed at the place of red light senser, could you please show me how to open it?
Thanks for video u made it clear brother
Thank you
kamera
Thank you for sharing, the knowledge is very usefu
Glad it was helpful!
Make sure that it's the right wire it says left wire or right wire it says it on the wire those wires controls the left or right side of the screen what you look at on the screen
It worked like magic thanks a lot bro
Thanks brother for your clear explanation
Always welcome
You're welcome
If I replace the main board with a working one will that solve the problem? Or is the short not on the main board?
The problem is not on the main board but in the LCD panel itself or the the COF ICs in the buffer board which are technically part of the LCD panel
@@atanbajan Thank you so much for the quick reply and the note about the issue with the LCD Panel.
I've also seen people bake the main board in the oven at 385 F for 10 minutes but this is not likely going to fix my issue either. I was hoping that the short would be in the main board.
Okay, I will try the taping method.
Thank you for posting this video.
@@merlin3921 thank you, I am pertaining to this particular tv model and problem though. Black screen can also be caused by the Main Board but if you follow the process in this video you will have an idea if it is the main board or the panel that has gone bad. Obvious signs of main board problem is that it wont respond to your remote controller and backlight will not turn on when you press the power on button.
@@atanbajan Hi Atan, I just tried disconnecting each ribbon cable and the whole screen is still "black" (dark grey) regardless which one I take out. Should I cover pins on both of them?
@@atanbajan The back light does come on when I push the power button. I don't hear any sound. It's just a blank dark "black" image. So this could be a main board problem?
Yeap, it works. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hi guys I have a problem with my old LG, the red light if I switch it on, because on but the screen remains black, I have been trying to take out the plug again and again but still the screen it off
It worked! Thank u
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks u very much sir💯
You are welcome Sir
what to do in case when both of the connectors are removed the blank screen does not change?
I would look for short in the mainboard.
your lucky brother Good job!
Thanks Man
Thanks very much
You are welcome
Legend !!!
Not working , still no progress using the tape method. No picture, just sound and blurry light just like in this video. LG brand 43" 43UP75
Unfortunatelly the repair works for a couple of months, Id recommend u guys to take the tv to a shop to have the capacitors check on the panels he says to not mess with them
Which capacity exactly.. please
I haven't seen any videos on replacing capacitors on the screen boards. There's suggestions on cutting tracks that's too hard.
respect!💪💯
Thanks
In my TV with new back light strips, they don't light. Standby light is OK. What could be the problem brother? Pls help.
If the original problem was the backlight assuming that all other parts are good. And you replaced the backlight strips with new ones. And it did not work after replacing backlights, the problem could be the new installed backlight is defective due to a bad single LED or a broken voltage path.
영상으로 저의 TV도 고쳤습니다.정말 감사드립ㄴ니다
Sir job done on your video thanks
Thanks to you
Anyone else that can help will also be appreciated if anyone else has the answer first but the tape over the ribbon cord. Trial and error part. Just cover the top spaced out lines right above the connector part but is it trial and error for witch ones to cover up or is it just have or the other half or trial and error on what parts and combinations of covered and not covered to try? I’ll go through all the possible combinations 🤣🤷♂️ just wondering if that will work or if theres a way to test and know it wont work. Bought a used tv next day! Today and that has problems but with the remote and im not buying a new remote because i can return this tv and spend probably 20$ more for a new tv vs the used one and everything works but i didn’t need to buy a tv because i take care of my stuff so when something goes out for me it’s the truth about how long something lasts. Not my back light because that blinks on for a second and my screen goes black but you can see an image and watch it change for a sec or two or 3 sometimes before it goes to infinite black out while also still being turned on and the volume and everything works if i could just see what im doing on screen. Any real help will be very much appreciated! I have a son that will be 3 in the beginning of February. Im not rich and i don’t pretend to have money but im great with money. So good in fact im here now because im not used to a tv you take care of going out on you like this. Mane reason i waited so long before i got an hd tv. This one is 4k though and i got it on sale so that makes sense but and legit help will me a lot! Thanks!
Thank you bub
This worked for me! Thank you so much! Can i send you some of the $ you saved me on the repair? Patreon? Venmo?
This is a solution if you are ok with discoloration on the other half on the tv.
My tv should be trash ridden but i keep it in case of a chance i can fix it.
Tq.....bro.... it'working
Welcome
Sir can I send you my tv really cant solve it.
Hi there, Im Sorry I dont accept TVs for repair
