The trunks would be fine, if the suit was tighter. But being as loose as it is makes no sense. Personally I wouldn’t have the trunks at all- I’ve gotten used to the New 52/Man of Steel/Superman and Lois look where there are no red trunks and it makes more sense. I do love that they have the all yellow symbol on the cape and I really love that they’re using what is effectively the Kingdom Come Supes logo. Ever since the first shot of that it made sense! Looks more alien and appropriate for him to wear- us dumb humans are just misinterpreting it as an “S” symbol is far more logical especially if they’re keeping with the idea that it’s the symbol of the House of El which many of the contemporary versions of superman have gone with. But why on earth does it look two sizes too big for the actor? Like he was an XL chest but they bought him XXXL instead? I mean the dude isn’t skinny, he really bulked up for the role, so why does it look like he’s wearing his dad’s uniform? 😂
I like these trunks because they're like the full-cut trunks from All-Star Superman. As for the suit's looseness, since they opted for a non-stretchy material the designer has to leave room for Corenswet to have full range of motion while acting on set, with the idea that it can be trimmed up in post-production as most suits are. The only other option would be to place panels of other material near the joints, which would draw criticism for looking too much like a typical patchwork MCU suit.
He doesn't look that way because he isn't wearing muscle pads. Muscle pads are for that muscle definition u see with Cavill suit and Shazam suit, and all of the other male's super suits in the DCEU, without the muscle pads u look more like Corenswet or Reeves were because the suit is skin tight it ends up squishing one's muscles and makes u look skinnier than u actually are. That's just the way it is.
I prefer superman suit without underwear outside the suit ( dceu version & new DC 52 comic book suit version) to this version. James Gunn, remove the red underwear outside the suit, it's embarrassing
Me too. I much prefer the new 52 suit design, which strangely Gunn’s suit touches on a little with the collar and all. But the red trunks just look goofy. Reeve could pull it off, but that was Christopher Reeve. Now it just looks silly.
Fully DISagree! This is a nightmare: This superman looks bad, really bad. Wrong casting for Superman and the suit is the worst ever Superman suit. I don't mind the trunks, but please do it the modern way like Snyder's superman or the classic way like Donner's Superman, but this weird mix is a total fail. Even Brian Singer's Superman suit looked way better. That movie was all cr*p, but the suit has been great. It is hyper frustrating, that there is no Superman movie or show, that nailed it and it is clear to see, that this one won't either. This is a full blown Non-Starter
