- Fractional Aiming System
Setup 7 balls touching each other in an arc facing the object ball centered to a pocket approximately 1 hand length (8 to 9 inches) from the object ball.
If the distance is approximately doubled about 16 inches from the object ball:
The arc set of balls will increase about 2 hand widths from the original arc but this time at 1 ball width apart.
This will help you determine what fraction to hit the ball:
From the center ball to the right (and left respectively) each ball increases by 15 degrees or decreases by a 1/4 ball width.
For example: The center ball has no angle. The ball next to it is a 3/4 ball hit. The ball next to the previous ball in the arc is a 1/2 ball hit. Next ball in succession is a 1/4 ball hit and so fourth. And anything in-between will be an additional 1/8th ball hit.

this is the way the old pool shooters talked about aiming. 😊
And I use this myself. It's a great aiming system imo
@@15DiamondBilliards we do have to deal with the 2-D images in front of us. The depth is just to select the right image.
well thats nice. but i have trouble about estimate the angle. do u have any advice
buy a protractor, use it in practice, hold it up and over shots , until you memorize the angles. 😊
I go by instinct myself. It's a feel you acquire after playing for a while. But mathematically you'll understand how it works after practicing.
