I'm from Norway, I have loved Wardruna since their first beginning, and I have to say I cried when I watched this video, because I loved your reaction! Lots of hugs from Norway!
Trust me on this....turn on the C.C./translation and re-watch the video. It adds a new dimension to the song. Also, another song that will move you: Wardruna/Aurora "Live-Helvegen". (the one with the red backdrop, stage.)
Einar and Wardruna always take us on a journey into nature and into our own soul. The Healing Mountain is real and it challenges those who climb to the summit for life and breath and health. If you persevere you will obtain whatever healing you need. A Norse vision quest.
The ''rocks that are stacked underwater with the trees'' as you call it, is a real sunken village located in Norway, the ''rocks stacked'' is the foundation of buildings and houses.
Yeah everything you saw it's totally real. Fun fact they shot the video on an island in the northwest part of Norway in April or May of 2020.The weather was supposed to be good those days but there was an extremely cold blast from the artic which plummeted the temps and brought the snow again. They had to stay on that island with practically nothing for three whole days until they could leave safely. Also if you look closely the man walking and going up the mountain is really half naked wearing only pants in the snow...I get frostbites just watching this lmao.
Definitly look up the lyrics to this song, Its amazing! Leave your struggles behind while climbing Lyfjaberg, let the mountain free you, let the wind heal you and the river cleanse your soul.
Its all abut a place of comfort and cure for the ‘sick and sore’ who manage to climb the mountain and bear offerings at the shrines there - a gift demands a gift in return. Healing mountain is my fav song of theirs, it heals you more and more in every listening. Its a genius band reflecting all your inner ancient instincts so its appropriatte they are using medieval musical tools to their journey.
There's something about Wardruna that makes my blood come alive and want to go live in nature and live off the land. It's like the music is calling to my Nordic/Scandinavian ancestry.
I always feel sorry for Lindy Fay Hella - the female vocalist - as she doesn't seem to get much attention with this band though she's a brilliant singer. She also has a lot of solo material.
Well, maybe not by those who react, but for me, she is an absolute integral part of the song, with a great voice, and they both harmonise well together.
hey guys the underwater scene is an ruin of an viking village in norway (historical land mark) the locations in the video are real locations they werent expecting snow in lower areas but it occurred thou didnt effect filming too much hiya from southern ontario canada!
8:02 Quote of the day “I hope that is a word” My feeling way to often trying to tackle the English language. But that was indeed a word, and it’s an very handy piece of clothing in the cold 🙂
7:00 2 years later, but it's in the lyrics : "Leave clothes behind and all you own". I wish the guy was naked on top of the mountain, but too risky for UA-cam I guess... You have to leave everything behind you to heal. Saddle your soul and let it ride With blind eyes, you’ll surely find the way Draw your breath in - let your thoughts fly Let it out slowly - on winds you’ll bide The spindle spins, the thoughts entwine revolving sight The enchantment song lures the soul from its shape Out through the door, through the cobweb-veil Out borne on bare feet, a heavy burden Out in your innermost, a steep trail ahead High upon Healing-Peak, nine maidens await At the first stop where paths cross, you pause Leave clothes behind and all you own Where you are heading, they’ll be of no use The burden lightens, but heavy is the trail ahead At the second stop where paths cross, you pause Leave time behind, and weighty thoughts Where you are headed, they’ll be of no use The burden lightens, but heavy is the trail ahead At the third stop where paths cross, you pause Leave fears behind, let fall all masks Where you are headed, they’ll be of no use The burden lightens, but heavy is the trail ahead Naked at the top, the mountain knows you North waves an eagle-wing, the wind it draws The shadow-women dance about you They sing for you, chanting powerful runes Wounds and sickness Of marrow and blood Of meat and bone Of flesh and skin Into weather and wind You fade I summon you into the mountain blue Where neither sun nor moonshine can reach you I summon you into the forest where no one dwells And out to the sea where no man rows Deep beneath an earthbound stone Out of harm’s way Run through the rivers And roll with the ocean tides Into weather and wind you fade Neither sun nor moonshine can reach you Sink in the sea where no man rows Run through the rivers And roll with the ocean tides Healing-mountain stands for eternity It comforts the sick and the sore Each and every one who assails that rock Will find their lifelong ailment cured Leave it behind on Healing-Peak Where the rivers and streams Dance northwards and down That mountain mends all those who climb
I know that in Denmark, some people often go winter bathing in the ocean nude. In Russia they do something similar, but in water holes in the frozen lakes and such.
Welcome to Western Norway. The location of the video is mainly filmed at the island of Tustna. Most of the west coast look like this. The mountains get steeper the further north you travel.
There is actually an entire farm you see there under the water. A rock slide from the nearby mountain created a natural dam, that flooded and submerged the farm in water... If you haven't been bathing in the winter, you've been missing out! 😉 And

Also check out the Einar Selvik (Wardruna) and Eivør Palsdottir version of Helvegen from The Viking Symphony Live, it’s outstanding
@@DJQUAZER OMG, Yes! I love that version!
I think the "underwater village" is because a dam in Høyanger (Sognefjorden) needed higher water
Im from sweden and im proud to be scandinavian folk to listen to our music and share all around the world , vikings forever 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

J'adore wardruna magnifique
The ''rocks that are stacked underwater with the trees'' as you call it, is a real sunken village located in Norway, the ''rocks stacked'' is the foundation of buildings and houses.
yes it is common for Nordic people, people from Sweden to cut holes in frozen lakes and get in the water. They say it helps with their health.
The lyrics of this song are amazing!! Wardruna is amazing!
there's an old Norwegian saying that's basically: "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." :D
And yes, swede here, its normal to bathe in the icy water! :)

There was actually a snow storm going on as they were making the video how Norse is that 😊
Thats Norway for you... stunning country with a bounty of natural beauty

Nay, all of human ancestry.
@@cosesu8929 THIS... I don't even have any Nordic blood, but this makes me want to live a primitive life
He will be here in Dallas-Fortworth November 2022 I already bought tickets
Yes, this is all a real place. Most of the scenes here were recorded on an Archipelego of Islands in Tustna, Not too far from the town of Ålesund.
Great reaction!
I just watched this yesterday and couldn't help but notice that Wardruna also had Justine from Skáld help with the harmony.
I always feel sorry for Lindy Fay Hella - the female vocalist - as she doesn't seem to get much attention with this band though she's a brilliant singer. She also has a lot of solo material.

I think I read that this was shot during a May and they didn't expect it to be still snowing then!

The male lead singer Einar Selvik played with the Norwegian metal band Gorgoroth
And originally formed Wardruna with Gaahl. Also ex gorgorth

North waves an eagle-wing, the wind it draws
The shadow-women dance about you
They sing for you, chanting powerful runes
Wounds and sickness
Of marrow and blood
Of meat and bone
Of flesh and skin
Into weather and wind
You fade
I summon you into the mountain blue
Where neither sun nor moonshine can reach you
I summon you into the forest where no one dwells
And out to the sea where no man rows
Deep beneath an earthbound stone
Out of harm’s way
Run through the rivers
And roll with the ocean tides
Into weather and wind you fade
Neither sun nor moonshine can reach you
Sink in the sea where no man rows
Run through the rivers
And roll with the ocean tides
Healing-mountain stands for eternity
It comforts the sick and the sore
Each and every one who assails that rock
Will find their lifelong ailment cured
Leave it behind on Healing-Peak
Where the rivers and streams
Dance northwards and down
That mountain mends all those who climb

The old Norse version of a vision quest.
Way back when it was dry land, then icebergs melted and the land disappeared.
There is actually an entire farm you see there under the water. A rock slide from the nearby mountain created a natural dam, that flooded and submerged the farm in water...
