I love how Crossbones changes his speech multiple times if you die. He starts off with the talk about the multiverse, and how he doesn’t belong in this dimension, and that he’s developed an illness, only for him to reveal that’s just what happens in the comic. If you die, he changes his speech to how he’s from ‘Planet Santurn’ a planet where everyone is Sans. When you get to the point where he originally revealed his story was all fake, he instead says how some things he said may have been true. Die again and he becomes more straightforward with you, realising this isn’t your first time fighting him.
Side note, but I also really like how, at around 2:10 the Megalovania leitmotif ends with the final few notes being higher than the original. It feels more conclusive.

I always figured marking Crossbones as eradicated was meant as in: the persona is eradicated, so it's not a complete lie. Though it could also be Chara comforting themself by implying that they won't have to contend with sans again. A fitting "death" for the Crossbones character though, falling to give retribution to the one who brought Starlight Isles to its knees, and taking a blow for sans in the end. Basically it just means sans won't put on Crossbones again.

I think it's meant in the same way as Undertale. Notice how in the original Sans looks away as he says it, as if to say he doesn't believe it anymore or is hesitating on its meaning after meeting the pacifistic human. In every other instance where Sans speaks seriously, he directly faces the human - therefore, he means what he says. In this instance, he's screwing with you and trying to get you to give up.
