I love how the only reason you fight Alphys is because she overheard Asriel venting about his time as a star. This game was such a blast and it’s cool how this theme kinda has some anime-esque vibes of hope and finality like Alphys is locking in to make sure you and Asriel pay for what you did to her friends
It's got more to it than that, considering she also immediately assumed sans's death was her fault and felt bad for papyrus and undyne blaming herself. So she took responsibility to stop you
This fight was genuinely so much harder for me than any other Undertale fangame because of one simple thing: The Cyan Soul. I made the mistake of doing the Chaotic route first because I thought it would be fun! I unintentionally skipped the tutorial, and went straight to the final boss. Even though I did eventually prevail, this boss was much harder than it should have been for me.
Researching ways to break the barrier to finally touch the elusive stars with her kin, together. That's all she wanted. It doesn't matter now whether it was to explore the galaxy, find new otherworldly friends or admire beauty of the beast that is Universe. Her life goals, her work, everything was for naught. All because of a single mistake. Failed experiment took a heavy price. A storm of dust is approaching. It swallowed whole her friends, foes and regular folk alike. Select few who are left to suffer through the final moments of struggling monsterkind cannot do anything to stop it. And she indirectly caused this. The sense of guilt is too much. She couldn't save anyone besides her own skin. Two figures appear out of the storm. Source of her inner turmoil. Genesis of everyone's demise. Yeah. Even if she brought Twinkly into reality, this catastrophe was a direct result of collective choices of revived prince and a human. They went out of their way to make her home - a coffin; her galactomania - an unachievable chimera. ...She might not be able to go back in time, but she'll make sure you deeply regret your abysmal decisions. Forget about vindication. Alea iacta est.
I'm so glad that Alphys got the role of final chaotic boss. She's much more interesting than just another Sans fight, and (in my opinion ;3) better than an Asgore fight too. Although, I do think it would've been cool for some kind of Sans fight at the end of Dark Neutral, although that would conflict with the whole ending message of LV20, so I can definitely see why that didn't happen. ;p
sans is quite out of character in dark neutral which is strange since the rest of the game is all in character and sans pretty clearly seems to be unaware of resets in all other routes (why else would he take the hit for papyrus?) so the fact that he doesnt get mad (no go to hell) and knows about resets in dark neutral is very weird.
@marioluigibros.8176 maybe since we aren't going to destroy the everything, it wouldn't matter. In undertale, sans is the last line of defense before the timeline is erased.
@@shellpoptheepicswordmaster755 I think it's because of the LV 0 route and ending. I guess the idea was that we can always get the perfect ending, no matter what we've done before (well, we have to true reset to get back to LV 0), the opposite of Undertale's permanent consequences.
@@Cooley_08In all fairness, Asgore was also being set up with the first 3 holograms. The 4th one being Alphys after Asgore stops trying to reason with Asriel also built up to it. However, the camera cutscene, Gerson's exremely spesific dialogue and the CORE entries pretty much overshadowed anything about Asgore, so it was pretty easy to guess who'd jump me in the final corridor. Though admittedly, I did expect some sort of a mecha instead of her just kinda... *Being there.*

All of the magic you can do with Asriel was super creepy to me because of how weirdly personal/intimate he seemed with you when doing them, like you are actually his dead sibling. Great route honestly, this fangame is amazing
No way man, they included literally Alphys neo to actual full game, and not only that, but they make it geno final fight. Despite some problems ps outertale has, this one is certainly good stuff
I love all of the tracks in this OST but this one just got stuck in my head like a nail for weeks now. I can't praise you enough for composing a track that is completely unlike Megalovania, yet has the exact same energy and drive about it. You had one chance to offer a unique spin on a final boss track in the style of Undertale, and you knocked it out of the park! ...honestly, I can say the same about the final boss itself. You went out of the way to make it unique, to feature a character that is overlooked otherwise in the fandom and to give it a new unique SOUL mechanic, instead of another "UT fangame #923: get dust-belief-last-breath-bad-time dunked on simulator" fight. I hope developers of other fangames in progress take notes.
Spoilers: Im so glad that Alphys got a fight instead of sans in this game. Its unique, and the theme is a banger. If you want a sans fight, theres hundreds of aus that are literally just sans fights, its okay for one to be different. I overall really like Alphys in this au, she feels more fleshed out. I know people say that sans was “misused” in this au, but him taking a back seat let other characters like Papyrus and Alphys get more time to shine, so to me it balances out. Good Job!

I would argue that Undertale Yellow's genocide is satisfying. Killing flowey, Killing asgore, Absorbing his soul, Obtain the other 5 human souls, Leave the underground with a completed mission. Find the missing humans and bring justice to the monsters

I just realised that galactomania has the same structure as genocide enemy approaching version. Like Martlet second phase them in UTY is remix of genocide battle them. I know this popular theory about megalovania being OUR them instead of sans's, but space make it an actual thing. Also, approaching the enemy uses battle against a true hero leitmotif, like every boss theme in chaotic route. So BAATH motif is actually genocide motif, like enemy retreating motif from UTY

Really good Still don't like the forced sans death but this is likely the reason Could have done it in snodin or the outertale equivalent instead of sans dying he guards papyrus with bones and you have the fight right there having the same dialogue with papyrus right after being beaten

i love how alphys is more competent in here it really shines her character alot in comparison to undertale alphys (who is just mainly a coward at times)

I'm writing too many comments but something just happened I saw a red frisk I touched it and it disappeared I thought it was a game thing but after I restarted I went to the same area and the red frisk wasn't there I thought it was something normal in the game and it wasn't I captured him (edit) I made the value fun the first time LOL
me and a friend have been actively searching for the past 3 days for any ways to trigger a sans fight it has to exist.. if it doesn't it feels like such a massive "screw you" to the community to not do anything with sans and make him forgive you at the end of dark neutral..
The Debug menu doesn't even have a Sans fight in it, I doubt it exists. Plus, not every Undertale game has to have a crazy Sans fight. Give the other characters the spotlight!

The fight was very hard but well designed, and having this banger in the background certainly helped

This also uses the same format as undertale. In undertale MEGALOVANIA is Chara's theme, as its an altered version of "Megalomaniac". Here, its "Galactomaniac".

@@miniwhiffy3465 Theres a theory that the name "Megalovania" has nothing to do with sans ( "Spider dance" because muffet is a spider ect.) and that its actually a variation of Megalomaniac. No idea if its true, but I think its cool

The name "Megalovania" existed before Sans OR Chara did - back when this was Dr. Andonuts' theme.

anyways banger finnaly some alphys love
So far, the best 3 games I've ever played is Undertale, Oneshot and Changed, in no particular order, so that's pretty much the reason

Could have done it in snodin or the outertale equivalent instead of sans dying he guards papyrus with bones and you have the fight right there having the same dialogue with papyrus right after being beaten
Could be a cool way to test out asreil as every boss fight asreil plays a big role in so that would be a good way to introduce that

I keep seeing your comment because UA-cam shows comments at their timestamps, and I still have no idea which note you mean. My best guess would be the long note that would usually be there if the intro continued its pattern but I don't think that note is actually missing instead of intentionally left out

loved this route, asriel was extremely funny and weirdly tended to echo my thoughts on things at times. still felt bad for monster kids though
i love how alphys is more competent in here
it really shines her character alot in comparison to undertale alphys (who is just mainly a coward at times)
because one isn't held back by the immense guilt of being the cause of the amalgamates (As shown by Alphys literally offing herself in certain Neutral endings)
I failed, even with 9999 hp 😢 (the diffculty spike, was INSANE!!)

@@spacey_432 why cant we flirt in the chaotic route bosses? wasn't that an option in every fight or something? also, in the demo, undyne the undying got all pixelated and imploded, but in the final version, she melts like normal. why was this changed back, just wondering? i thing the weird implosion thing fit the space stuff better

i hear abit of dark darker yet darker near the start
I'm writing too many comments but something just happened I saw a red frisk I touched it and it disappeared I thought it was a game thing but after I restarted I went to the same area and the red frisk wasn't there I thought it was something normal in the game and it wasn't I captured him
(edit) I made the value fun the first time LOL
It was a reference to an au with a red frisk. Gaster isn’t really a thing in this game I think

me and a friend have been actively searching for the past 3 days for any ways to trigger a sans fight
it has to exist..
if it doesn't it feels like such a massive "screw you" to the community to not do anything with sans and make him forgive you at the end of dark neutral..

The Debug menu doesn't even have a Sans fight in it, I doubt it exists.
Plus, not every Undertale game has to have a crazy Sans fight. Give the other characters the spotlight!
