I've heard this song so many times and it never gets old. I have a song request: Would you react to Meat Loaf "Bat out of hell" ua-cam.com/video/3QGMCSCFoKA/v-deo.html and/or "Paradise by the dashboard light" ua-cam.com/video/C11MzbEcHlw/v-deo.html ?
Sung live on a TV show, The Andy Williams Show. No retakes, no auto tune. Just pure talent and control. Now you need to do YOU’VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING by the Righteous Brothers. In this one the other member is featured. He can take his voice as low as Hatfield can go high. Together their voices blend unbelievably.
The incomparable Bobby Hatfield enchanting us all with this performance masterpiece! Favourite live performance ever. Looks effortless but pouring his heart and soul into every note. Chills every time! RIP Bobby Hatfield 💖💙💛
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed. The extending of the notes, the high notes, the combination of that, the instrumentals... This is an old masterpiece.
Guys, this was four whole years before Led Zeppelin. If anything, Robert Plant was influenced by Bobby, not the other way around. In fact, Robert Plant was only 16 years old when this song was released. ;) Great reaction though, keep it up!
That last note Bobby sung here was a G5. He did it without any strain. Effortless really. But his 1970 solo album Messin' in Muscle Shoals (funkier, southern rock and blues), shows his other mind blowing vocal styles and techniques. Vocal distortion and jumping octaves etc. According to my piano, he hit both D6 and G6 on 'If I Asked You'. G5 is a walk in the park for him 😉
And his mother was in the audience. Additionally, Bobby had a serious problem with stage freight his entire career that is what lead to him using cocaine. But contrary to the common belief that is not what killed him. He had a long-standing heart condition that ultimately took his life. This IMHO is probably the greatest single live performance of all time and across all genres. It is certainly my favorite, and I love to see the reactions of young folks nowadays when they hear this and see him perform it. I just wish they would do a little research on it before reacting to it. I know they would be more appreciative of it if they did. This is my main gripe with most of these reaction channels. They for the most part don't do and background research on a track before reacting to it. They expect their subscribers to do that for them, SMH.🤦♂️
This is one of the greatest performances of all time by Bobby Hatfield. They are the originals. Try some more Righteous Brothers. 60’s was the greatest music. Remember, this is live. No auto tune sound effects. This is the real deal
The Righteous Brothers are Bobby Hatfield that you see here and Bill Medley. They each sang solos in their performances. Nobody can sing this song like the late great Bobby Hatfield. Just a microphone and God given talent. No autotunes. This was a live performances. He had a 5 octave range.
This is Bobby's solo - live, no auto tune, plus fighting a severe cold. Young men this is pure talent - many have covered this, but this can never be beaten ❤❤❤
The Righteous Brothers (not related) were a duo but they often sang solo on their albums. It's been said that both of them wanted to sing this song so it was decided by a coin toss & Bobby won. :-) This is what we call blue eyed soul...The great Bobby Hatfield (RIP) - he did this in one take with a live audience, also in front of his parents, no autotune or computer aided post production enhancements - just pure talent. I was born two years after this performance, but I always heard it being played at home & on the radio. It's been one of my all time favorite songs since I was a young kid. It is considered to be one of the greatest love songs ever composed. It has been covered many times over by other great artists, but Bobby Hatfield's version is probably the most well known & beloved the world over. It was used as the main love theme for the movie GHOST starring Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, & Whoopi Goldberg (she won the Academy Award for her role). This was definitely Bobby's signature song, as no other can match his performance - so smooth & melodic, such a one of a kind ethereal voice that can make any lady (or man) swoon. This is baby makin' music. My late uncle used to call this song "a guaranteed panty dropper" :-D RIP Bobby Hatfield... and Uncle Bernie.
Listen to the Righteous Brothers duo sing " You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' ". Then, you'll get to hear Bill Medley's amazing bass-baritone voice, as well as Bobbie Hatfield's equally amazing tenor voice. The story of these two is really interesting, and you might enjoy reading up about them. Bobbie died way too young. But Bill went on to sing many, many other great songs and to have a great career, too. One song you might recognize is "I've had the time of my life", which he sang with Jennifer Warnes for the film "Dirty Dancing". Have a great time listening!
This is a live studio audience recording from 1965. The Righteous Brothers came before Led Zeppelin, which formed in 1968. So this is all Bobby Hatfield and his amazing voice. Robert Plant also has an amazing voice. Both groups heavily influenced by American Blues.
The Vietnam War started in the mid 1950s, this song was released in 1965. Many scared and lonely soldier boys hoped their girl back home was still waiting
Righteous Brothers are a duo. The guy here is one-half of the duo, and he was the solo on this. Most of their hits have both of them, Bill Medley (the low-voice) and Bobby Hatfield (this guy). Check out "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration." They were awesome.
There were two Righteous Brothers (not real brothers) Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. They both wanted to do this solo, so they tossed a coin and Babby won, which was as it should be since no one else could have achieved this perfection. Thank you and RIP Bobby. This was in 1965, so Robert Plant influenced nothing. It was all Bobby. No gimmicks no straining for notes. Live performance. Just pure natural talent.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. What you are hearing is raw talent. Do your research! RIP Bobby Hatfield. People are still enjoying your music over 50 years later.
Great that you did this reaction, makes memories back.. i think in 2002 i was in the tv studio here in the Netherlands and Bill Medley was there.. 1 of the 2.. that was so cool!
Surprising reaction, but I like you doing also some older stuff. This song became popular again in 1990 because it was used in the film Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze.
Old sentiment... wasn't even born yet, for about 20 years 😂, but I've heard this song for about my whole life. It's still a great sensitive song and a beautiful sensitive voice the guy has...
The Righteous Brothers consisted of Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. Typically they each received one solo each per album and this was Hatfield's solo which became a big hit and peaked at #4 in the US. To really experience the depth of the Righteous Brothers, you need to hear both "brothers" - Medley has a deep baritone voice to complement Hatfield's tenor range. You've Lost That Loving Feeling and Soul and Inspiration both peaked at #1 in the US and features both Hatfield and Medley; check it out.
Fun fact here, Bill Medley, the other part of this duo actually produced this song in which Bobby Hatfield, the one singing here, won the job of doing this solo by a coin toss between Bill and Bobby. Bill later said he was really glad that Bobby won that coin toss!
Hey Guys. Just think about this they did not have Autotune that is all him and if you want to get blown away listen to the one (I want to make love to you) talk about WOW WOW and you talk about cars you had 55-56-57 Chevy and you had hot rod cop 32--33 ford my opinion from the 50-60-70-and some of the 80 best songs and cars and by the way you Guys did a 👍🏼👍🏼keep up the great work 😎✌🏼️🍺🍺🙏🏻🇺🇸
Hahaha, Bobby Hatfield might have been an influence on Robert Plant. What planet are you two from? Bobby Hatfield was a true 5 octave voice, Plant, while his voice was smooth, his range was more like he was wearing his undies 3 sizes too small. Consider yourselves lucky that you've experienced the only pure voice you're ever likely to hear in your lives.
That is Bobby Hatfield One Half Of The Righteous Brothers Bill Medley Is The Other Righteous Brother Bobby Passed Away In 2003 And This Song Was In The Movie Ghost.
The song was written in 1955 "B" prison movie "Unchained". "The Righteous Brothers" were Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. This is a solo by Hatfield. I recommend listening to it a few more times -- and see if you can avoid goosebumps.
I think you are mistaking, this style was his and was unique. Bobby Hatfield was called the "blue eyed soul". Give a try to other songs of the two "brothers", you will enjoy it. But I can tell this performance is unbeatable.
Actually, if you were to hear Bobby's live version of Nina Simone's Summertime from 1965, where he showcases his crazy vocals, one could believe Robert Plant was influenced by Bobby. Bobby is the origin of 'blue eyes soul' 😊
The quintessential love song. Many have covered it but Bobby Hatfield owns it. This is his solo. You want more Righteous Brothers try You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, Soul and Inspiration, Rock And Roll Heaven, Ebb Tide. The 60’s music is far superior to anything today. Sorry young guys lol. I appreciate you playing it for us old folk
GUYS, CAN YOU BELIEVE A PERFORMANCE LIKE THIS FROM BOBBY HATFIELD BACK IN 1965. THIS IS WHAT WE NOW CALL "X-FACTOR PLUS". AND HE HAD "MOVIE STAR" GOOD LOOKS ALONG WITH AN AMAZING VOICE BOBBY SUNG THIS SONG SOFTLY, SWEETLY, SMOOTHLY, SENSUALLY WITH SOUL GRIPPING PASSION THAT WAS SO PURE, CLEAN, ELEGANT AND POWERFULLY B E A U T I F U L THIS SONG VERSION WAS IN THAT FAMOUS FILM "GHOST" STARRING PATRICK SWAZYE AND DEMI MOORE. This is the Bobby Hatfield half of the Righteous Brothers. Bill Medley is the other "brother". If there were any "influence" vocally, it would have been the other way around.
And with no computers to fix the sound. These guys could sing. Not like Madonna at Eurovision who let her sound wizzard fix the sound of what she did. Live she was horrible...the next day her team placed the show on youtube and the horrible sound was fixed. Check that out and you get more respect for artists from the 50, 60 and 70s
Great reaction fellas, Amazing song, bobby hatfield is in a league of his own. Check out a band called the doors and two songs from them, “L.A. Woman” and “been down so long”, theyre both from 1970, but thats kind of the sixties if u guys like a little 60’s stuff, i think you’ll like that. Ps, beatles rule!!
If you want a couple of 1960s songs with good electric guitar solos, check out "The Sun Is Shining", and "Something Inside Me" (the five-minute long version), by Elmore James. They were both recorded in 1960 for two different record labels. Elmore James was inducted many years after his death, into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
That song is timeless, untold numbers of females were seduced with that song. LOL Back in the 1970s, I had a mix tape with that song about four songs down.
There are 2 Righteous Bros but at times they did solos. This was Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Bros live on the Andy Williams show. The other brother Bill Melody was there just not singing this song.Bobby Voice is from the heavens above effortless and sheer perfection. Many Artists before and after him have done this song but no one will ever do this song like he did .just his voice and a small microphone. LISTEN TO THE RIGHTEOUS BROS DOING YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING. It was played more times than any other song in American Radio history. No other song has ever surpassed their record.By the way Bill was there not playing an instrument was with Andy Williams. Both the Bros did solos over the years. Back then you had to really have talent .

You two just wish you had Bobby Hatfield’s panache ...This was the only bonified “ panty dropper” song... no disrespect to the ladies.. but you know it’s true
The look on his face during the break after the second "lonely time" looks serious. He knew the challenge of the high notes was coming. Now the original cut will be disappointing as a lot of the nice parts will be missed. Including that ending.
Righteous Brothers have best singing capabilities. Check out Bring it on home to me. You will see the best from them. Equal singing time by Bobby and Bill 😀.
Thanks, guys - just subscribed based on your reaction to this song -- this is all Bobby Hatfield - but his "brother" (unrelated) was Bill Medley - who was also extremely talented - you guys ever listen to Queen? (my favorite band - if you have the time and inclination - headphones a must!) -
hmmmm , well i couldnt follow all your talk , i was hoping for a real reaction to the singer and video , but your talk went to outer space, hope you find some of the other ' truly God gifted artists, of old' , this singer had no autotune or digital computerized manipulated sound , if he sang straight, in front of you, no mike or other apparatus , you would hear real talent , im old so its sad that current artists use electronically controlled digitized song and music, hope you have some fun with other artists , ciao 4 now
@@jwkoeniger Bobby had enormous stage-freight, the worst you know...throwing up. So he started using pills etc.....to calm down. More the reason he got addicted later on coke. Sad story.

The immortal Bobby Hatfield. No one will ever sing this song again like Bobby did.
Awesome reaction!! Glad you can appreciate my generation's music. 🙂
The incomparable Bobby Hatfield enchanting us all with this performance masterpiece! Favourite live performance ever. Looks effortless but pouring his heart and soul into every note. Chills every time! RIP Bobby Hatfield 💖💙💛
This song gives me chills everytime I listen to this which is a lot. Bobby is great.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed. The extending of the notes, the high notes, the combination of that, the instrumentals... This is an old masterpiece.
Bobby was 25 years old here! Love the Righteous Brothers!!!
No auto tune or computer wizardry, this is just pure TALENT !

Now that's what you call singing!
Bobby Hatfield hit 20 notes in this LIVE performance. Considered by many to be the best live performance ever. No auto anything
And his mother was in the audience. Additionally, Bobby had a serious problem with stage freight his entire career that is what lead to him using cocaine. The song itself is actually a whole lot older, done by many people, but Bobby made it his own, for sure.
10 years older. 1955. But yes Bobby did it better than anyone ever did or ever will
This is one of the greatest performances of all time by Bobby Hatfield. They are the originals. Try some more Righteous Brothers. 60’s was the greatest music. Remember, this is live. No auto tune sound effects. This is the real deal

This took me back .....instantly !
Nostalgic.
Thank you very much Sandlin Brothers!
Yes I love that song 🥰 55 years old song and still so beautiful and we're still listen to it. That's wonderful. Oh nu the way Jordan, love the hair! 😊
What you're hearing is MELODY -- something absent from most current "music".
Yes, and TALENT.
Effortless amazing
This is Bobby's solo - live, no auto tune, plus fighting a severe cold. Young men this is pure talent - many have covered this, but this can never be beaten ❤❤❤
Yes. Fantastic, wonderful. Goosebumps. More of this please. Greetings Hans
Robert Plant can only dream of singing like this! Try and appreciate easy listening guys!
"Minds Of The Future"... good Lord, help us all. Now and forever more we'll be hearing the "grunts & growns" from you two yayhoos!
1965 ! Plant was born in 1948, he would have been only 14 or 15 years old when Bobby Hatfield recorded this.
With that song Bobby Hatfield will live forever !
Very nice reaction! Some very good music was made in the 60’s and 70’s. Would be great if you do more reactions to songs of these 2 decades.

Bill is STILL going in Vegas. He was active until the pandemic shut down.
This was long before Robert Plant!
This singer, Bobby Hatfield, predates Robert Plant. So, I do not think he was influenced by Plant.

Love The Righteous Brothers!!!! Also The Walker Brothers. This song is so many times covered.
Bobby Hatfield is doing solo on this. You’ve lost that loving feeling is a classic duet. That and soul and inspiration.
Absolutely
That is a very good song and sung very nicely. I laughed a lot again.
Great guys

Bobby Hatfield had PIPES
That song is timeless, untold numbers of females were seduced with that song. LOL Back in the 1970s, I had a mix tape with that song about four songs down.

well, tbh you’d need the voice too
Thanks, guys - just subscribed based on your reaction to this song -- this is all Bobby Hatfield - but his "brother" (unrelated) was Bill Medley - who was also extremely talented - you guys ever listen to Queen? (my favorite band - if you have the time and inclination - headphones a must!) -

hmmmm , well i couldnt follow all your talk , i was hoping for a real reaction to the singer and video , but your talk went to outer space, hope you find some of the other ' truly God gifted artists, of old' , this singer had no autotune or digital computerized manipulated sound , if he sang straight, in front of you, no mike or other apparatus , you would hear real talent , im old so its sad that current artists use electronically controlled digitized song and music, hope you have some fun with other artists , ciao 4 now
This is not the beginning
Trip down memory lane! Speaking of such a trip: please react to Intwine with Happy ua-cam.com/video/m3EHlfF-Cbk/v-deo.html ?
I feel sorry for kids today. Growing up with the crap music that's out. Auto tune singing and half naked dancing to distract the viewer
You got that right, Roy. Too bad Hatfield couldn't say no to coke.
@@jwkoeniger Oh man really? That's such a shame.
@@jwkoeniger Bobby had enormous stage-freight, the worst you know...throwing up. So he started using pills etc.....to calm down. More the reason he got addicted later on coke. Sad story.
I know right?! imagine this guy with tattoos all over his face...
It's melody not medley...and how can you have heard of it but not heard it ...
