Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
Top Video - Thanks. I took the main driver blade off and the Spacer Driver came "out of nowhere" on to the floor, and I hadn't a clue where to put it back. Now I do thanks to you - turn it sideways and drop it in! Never would have tried that one.
Just did mine on a Mountfield SP536. There was so much crud underneath that I didn't see that the belt cover actually came off the base. I was trying to attack it by removing the engine, but thank god for this video. Even though it wasn't the same as mine, most rear-drive mowers follow a similar procedure. Great Stuff 5*
Not sure what kind of mower that is but my snapper has a belt it’s quite tight yours has so much playing it there’s no issue with replacing it the question is on the ones that are tight you really have to remove the rear drive pulley from the deck or take some of the engine bolts off to relieve pressure from the engine side. There’s no way my belt was going to come off like yours. I can’t believe that plastic piece apparently keeps your belt in tension. Unless there’s some other tensioner that you’ve released that you don’t show that’s a interesting design you have
Right looks pretty easy. My model number 20041 involves taking off nine different parts. That includes both of the rear wheels. There’s almost nothing left to take off of the back of the damn thing
Ok, here is some critical information, for those of us, with an electric/pull start system, and the black battery box on the deck of the mower. Ok, YES, there is a bolt underneath the box. But, it is towards the back of the mower, and you will see a slightly raised section of the box, that does not touch the deck, but sit's above it, about 1/4-3/8". The bolt you have to access is, literally in that notch, towards the backside of the black box/mower. And, I have found, that the box is riveted to the deck. So, for full access, you will have to rip the box off of the top of the deck, revealing 2 of the 3 bolts, as the 2nd bolt is, along the left side of the black battery box, just underneath the side front corner. But, if you are able to remove all of the plastic covers off of the back, including the flapper, for the bag. As, the top of the flapper for the bag hatch, is literally what has you blinded from seeing the bolt in the first place, besides the battery box itself. And, since I can't start it with the key anymore(Long story short, the cable harness was ripped out of the key starter switch, and ruined it), so it's pretty useless to me, at the moment. So, I decided to just rip the black box itself off. Which, made it much more simpler to access all 3 bolt's, for the plastic belt guard underneath. Also, it is a good idea to take a plastic bag(Walmart bags will do fine), and use it underneath the gas cap, by taking the cap off, then draping the bag(Double layer, by using whole bag) over the open hole, then screw the cap back on, and you now have a sealed gas cap, from leaking...
Thats my exact mower, but instead of the drive belt, I need to replace the drive cable. Thought I could just get to it from the underside to detach the cable from the drive box, but thats not the case. Guess I have to tear the whole drive belt cover off like this vid. Wish you had showed all the screws you need to remove to get the belt cover off. On mine, I think theres two on the outside near each back wheel, and two on the cover itself under the deck, but not sure of what other screws, bolts or other parts were needed to actually remove the cover, other then the blade. Mine still has the OEM round cover over the bottom hole of the engine, directly above the blade. This vid seems to show the mower without this. Thanks for the vid, gave me a much better view of what I think I need to do to get that damn cable off.
I Have a problem with my belt which keeps coming off. After seeing your video I notice that the belt is very slack but held on it seems by the cover. I will have another look at my mower and see how the cover could be responsible for the belt coming off. I'll let you know if I solve it. Unless you know of another reason why the belt might be coming off.
I know this is old, but have you repaired or replaced the the rear drive transmissions on these mowers? Looks like this is the version with the B&S engine, there is almost the same mower with a Honda GCV160 engine for 2007, which I have.
wanting to know which belt goes where on the pulley of the AWD Toro 22 in Recycler push mower. they got wrapped around each other and cant see which went where
I have a rear wheel propelled Troy Built lawnmower with high rear wheels and a 4 speed transmission. No matter what speed the speed selector is in the mower propels at the same speed. How do I fix that? Do you own a Troy build mower like that?
Is the reason why you're changing the belt was because the rear wheel is no longer moving? I have a self propelled lawn mower and the wheel is no longer moving...not sure it is the belt or what. I'm clueless and that's why I'm watching these videos. Any how would be much appreciated.
Nice video ! I have a Toro recycler mower, that up to this point has been running pretty well. It's only a few years old. The other day I was cutting my grass, and I gently bumped the mower into the wall of my neighbor's house. I've done it many times before. Pretty typical when you get to the end of the grass. Anyway, a split second after the bump, I heard a loud pop in the mower, and it shut off. I was able to restart it a few times after this happened, but it would only restart for a few seconds and shut off again. I know nothing about fixing things, but if I had to come up with a theory, I think it's the belt. Would you agree?

Finally someone showed my mower. Thank you, there are so many different Toro rear drive push mowers.

Excellent video sir! 👍
i just joined your fan club. thanks so much, mower fixed so back out to the garden.
Short and sweet video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So Simple,Thanks. Things always look more complicated than they are.

The belt seems rather loose, isn't there a spring on the transmission body that torques it a bit.
Nice, but no mention of tensioning the belt on the adjuster to stop belt slap
Thanks, fixed mine thanks to you. Have a good day.
You helped someone in 03.29.2020
& again 8/2023!
I'm wondering if I can loop the belt around the blade and get this done without taking the blade off.
What type of oil do you used for the selfpropelled snapper
Excellent video. Only hard part was to remove the bracket cover over the pulley. Ace doesn't have the drive belt so I will need to orde
On my brand new Makita belt goes out after 10 liter work..Was put again in service and after another 1o liter work jump again..any advice?
Thanks for the instruction. What about the spring in the back - anything to be observant on for that?
Yeah this guy didn't show that part and pretty much didn't show a lot. Lol
This is a great video!! Keep it up !
Right. Looks easy. My particular model number 241

the carburetor must be pointing upwards when tilting the grass machine otherwise the oil can come into the cab

did you ever fix the cable? i have the same issue and cant find any vids for the older model mowers with the cable attached under the mower
Fantastic! Thank you!
Is the belt cover necessary?

Did ya solve this
Dont be a wimp just push it
I had the same problem... when I took the covers off, it was full of grass...
I have a Yard force from sams but I can't find the bolts for the black cover, anyone know
Whats the size for belt
Easy, thanks much!

Brilliant - thanks
love the gloves, wouldn't want to chip a nail :)
Good video, hope you emptied the fuel tank before other wise you can damage the engine. Best tipping it backwards.
Very useful. Thanks

how do you take the drive pulley off the crank shaft?
TheSpartan2235
that settles it.
I'm taking it in.
Thanks
Mountfield/Briggs & Stratton say you should never turn a mower on its side as it floods the air filter with oil
Yes and no. It does if you turn it the wrong way - which is why you always point the air filter towards the sky.
Tim makes a great point ... On some mowers it the only way to dump the old oil from the crank case , there's no drain plus
You skipped the most important part of the removal process. Where are the removal bolts?
Awesome! thanks!
Thank You
Not all of the drive belts are this easy to remove.
what mower is that
thank you, very helpful:)
They cut good but everybody has a problem with this belt. Myself included..
thnx
