This video takes a look at how not to hoop a small shirt and what can go wrong in the hooping and design process. I believe we all can learn through trial and error. I think its even better that you can learn through my mistakes as it saves you the frustration.

I always spray the temporary adhesive to the stabilizer and then press the stabilizer onto the wrong side of the tee shirt and then either hoop or float. I ALWAYS use the stitch down/tack down stitch, ALWAYS! That really stabilizes the design and prevents pulling and puckering. I fold the shirt vertically to have my center marked. I almost always put my design in the center of the hoop and adjust the fabric to get the right location for the design. I use Embird for all my digitizing and love it. I like your videos.

Thanks for showing your imperfections too. Makes me not feel like I'm the only one that makes mistakes.

Does the Brother SE400 have a tack down stitch. I'm not completely familiar with my machine yet, even though I've been doing quite a few monogramming on towels because I'm still a beginner I haven't attempted a tshirt yet.

I too have the program Sew What Pro and anything I've ever created in there didn't stitch right on my Brother machine or my Janome machine. Never have figured out why. The machines just don't seem to like that program......or, I'm doing something wrong. Hmmmm.........
