First, we’ll speak about our standard flat embroidery hoops for tubular machines and how they are used to efficiently clamp together and hold the fabric in place. It can be difficult to stretch your garment to avoid stitching both sides if using a smaller sewing embroidery/combo machine.
Now we’ll discuss the components of the hoop itself. There are two sides of the hoop, so whenever you’re hooping, make sure the top side of the hoop where you can visually spot the metal “U” is pointed towards the sky. The bottom part goes inside the garment. Prevent hooping both sides of the garment to avoid stitching both sides together.
Next, we’ll explore the 4 hoops that come with the EM-1010 embroidery machine.
Hoop A - the smallest of the four hoops - is ideal for small left chest logo designs, baby clothing, and small intricate designs. Of course, if you want to have a little more room to work with, you can always move up to Hoop B - the next hoop size up. Always remember you should choose a hoop size larger than your embroidery project, but not too large that the design now has too much room around the edges.
Next, we have Hoop C. This is a medium rectangular hoop that can be used for medium sized designs on sweatshirts and jackets.
Finally, we have Hoop D. As the largest of the four hoops, Hoop D can easily embroider large designs on most adult sized clothing as well as fit multiple designs in a single hoop to increase your efficiency.)
Now we’ll go over the flat hoops that come with your single-head commercial machine. Each machine includes different sizes of round and square hoops that’ll help you embroider from the smallest to the largest, and more complex designs and patches. Also, your single-head commercial models come with a “sash frame”, a square frame that holds fabric with special inserts and no tubing, which are great for patches!
Let’s now talk about the hoops that come with our multi-head models. Our multi-head machines are also tubular like our single-head machines, which means they’ll also come with similar hoops. These multi-head machines are wide, meaning you’ll have more space between the heads of the machine to accommodate larger hoops, meaning more design space. They also include sash frames, as well; however, instead of having a frame for each head, they expand across all machines. This is perfect for embroidering multiples of the same design for the same garment.
Finally, the cap hoop! All Ricoma embroidery machines include several cap attachments to embroider all types of caps. The cap attachment consists of a hoop station, a cap driver, and cap rings. The hoop station is what its name states: attaching to a sturdy surface, it creates a station for you to attach your caps. The cap driver houses the cap and the cap rings by snapping into the embroidery machine’s bracket. Finally, the cap ring stabilizes the cap to ensure it's secure for embroidery.

Why can't I get my large F tubular frame on my machine? It seems like the metal connecter pieces on the side don't extend out far enough to allow it to latch.
