    The net in the box of thread is not to keep the thread in storage. It is designed to go over your thread spool while embroidering/sewing to help it come off of the spool more smoothly. 👍

    • @sedan_dad
      @sedan_dad  Рік тому +12

      it actually came with specific directions that it is for storage. they gave a card with the box explaining that its for keeping your thread from coming unraveled 😅😅😅

    • @kelleykinser
      @kelleykinser Рік тому +19

      @@sedan_dad Not having read those instructions I’m going off of my own experience. The thread nets generally come with machines that use thread cones (sergers, embroidery…). Since the thread generally feeds horizontally off of the spool it can sometimes come off (unravel) too quickly. By putting the net over the thread cones they keep the thread more contained so that it comes off of the cone more smoothly and uniformly.

      I know it's been 11 months but I just learned thay today because I got an embroidery machine and it was in in a picture then I just sat there feeling RIDICULOUS 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was like, that makes so much more sense, and it will solve many issues I was having with thread messing up in the machine. I'm self taught so even reading ny other machines manuals I never saw it!!

    It has been my understanding that the thread nets are supposed to be used on the thread spool AS you are sewing. They keep the thread from catching on the spool as you are sewing. Fun video. Good to hear about the Brothread. Some have said it shreds easily so was concerned to try it.

    As someone working with this for 7/8 years, everything on the video is on point!
    The only things that i would say is that you don't need to pass the thread through the hole on the feet, for sewing machine this is relevant to avoid sewing on top of the loose thread, but the thing that cuts the thread cuts on a lenght that almost every time the thread will go down to form the knot and get hidden, for some machines this don't work as intended so you can start the item, wait a few stitches and cut the loose thread, i think can be faster than trying to get it through the hole on the feet.
    And about the slits on the spools, very usefull indeed, but don't abuse your little blue brother scisor T.T use a stilleto to cut it because cutting with the scisor will make the tip dull and you will start to have problems cutting the thread on the cleaning of the embroidery.
    Awesome video, nice explaining of things, hope to see more o/

    Use a click lighter and very carefully run the flame over the design to melt down the little connector threads after you cut them(at least cut them close first). Be extremely careful when burning on nylon or poly. Also when cutting backing I make sure to keep a finger from my left hand holding the backing between my embroidery and the scissors to make sure I do not cut the garment.

    Fun video and it would help a newbie, however there are things you will learn and figure out with time, for instance you learn how to "float" your project. Also the topcover on the threadspool pops open, just feed your thread into it and close it back up. No point in cutting your spool, that could cause some snagging issues when its on the machine. Otherwise fun and informativ video. Keep up the good work😊

      Love your personality and your clear instructions! This is a great method for anyone who wants to use the built in designs on the machine only. However…getting some embroidery software and learning how to download free and purchased designs and fonts will open a whole new world of possibilities! I’ve been embroidering over 10 years on a much older machine with bigger hoop areas and I rarely use any built in designs. They are always so pretty when I use them to run a test stitch but i honestly forget they’re there most of the time. Check out sew what pro software (it’s cheap compared to others and has a free 30 day trial!) and embrilliance express (it’s free but it’s only for fonts). Now I see this video is a year old so I am sure you e already figured all that out! Another tip is floating your garments on your hoop instead of hooping them. Makes it much easier…usually. Lol
