The best I like about this video, if not the Akita Inu anymore, is this information is more thorough than some of the other videos I have seen thank you for the heads up on the thyroiditis and other things. It reminds me very much of the Korean Jindo, except the color, and breeds similar to it which actually come in a variety of colors but mostly White or Cream- BTW have you done a video on that breed, I will have to check and see... I'm tired of hearing about the same old breeds all the time so I have been checking out some of the Asian populations of dogs.
Yes, i already made a video about Korean Jindo, you can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/KFZg8QknBB8/v-deo.html BTW, there is another very similar dog from North Korea called Pungsan dog. There is only very limited info about this breed (just like about everything from North Korea..) but i also have a video about them on this channel here: ua-cam.com/video/-FBM4MNfgsA/v-deo.html
Autoimmune disorders, for which there are currently no genetic tests, such as sebaceous adenitis, uveodermatalogic syndrome, pemphigus, discoid lupus, food and environmental allergies, etc., affect this breed. There have been cases of amelogenesis imperfecta which can be screened for. The national breed club requires testing of hips and eyes and strongly recommends screenings for patella, thyroid, and amelogenesis imperfecta/enamel hypoplasia issues.
Akita and Shiba Inu are often described as “catlike” and their predatory instinct to hunt and chase small animals is very strong. Like your video
Thank you 👍
