*MONDAY MAY 11 2020 6:54 AM CDT* Excellent landing by the First Officer (Co-Pilot)!! He did an outstanding job!!✈ Tony 59-year-old Black Air Force VET 🇺🇸✈
TBH, it's more to do with the FOs mis-management of the RNAV approach, rather than the captains frankly normal multi-tasking. If he had configured earlier, he wouldn't have had to DEMAND configuration changes via sign-language on the wrong side of late (whilst the Captain is halfway through a call to ATC). Obviously it all works out fine and this wasn't a hot and high approach, but all the rushing here is simply because of the PFs demands rather than the PMs responses... Give the captain a break!
@@milesaharrison haha they can't be in landing configuration at like 20NM from threshold and waste fuel just because ATC is busy and they are doing RNAV approach.
@@milesaharrison sure you didn't say 20nm and it was a exaggeration but these guys were Stabilized relatively early and there is no point of configuring for landing even earlier just for ATC communications IMO.
3000 feet and below is a good attitude to down the landing gear. But for me, 2500. Doesn't matter the important is speed of the aircraft. 👍😁 Sorry if im wrong im just an avgeek and still learning
350 What a modern aircraft is! I think 2020 is the hardest year for aviation industry more than 2001 9 11 terror. All the planes are grounded. RKSI is now full of Grounded aircraft. I have never seen that so much A380 are parked in ICN Hope we would overcome Covid as soon as possible and can travel everywhere safe. By the way Nice Landing!
Dang, this is actually the first time I've seen an Airbus pilot use the FPA (the bird) mode for landing. So cool. I've only seen videos of people using the cross hair flight director.
To Ms/Mr Kahng comment. That Australian ex Ansett captain were all strictly trained ( like Qantas) and no issue should be taken in this regard. Am sure the VN CFO Airbus fleet is Australian as well. Comment please if I am incorrect.
Rayan Altowayan no it depends on the situation Some pilots do it lower Some do it before there is no standard. Sometimes planes do a Cat III Autoland in bad weather or for testing.
I am certain I had the nice Captain on an A321 from Nga Trang to Da Nang in 2007 who was ex Ansett WA I believe and maybe she could comment if I am correct. I know my original flying instructor who was ex Ansett also went to VN and flew 332/359s
@@albertragdoll762 Maybe her name was McKenzie but unsure. Hopefully that is correct. I recall Na Trang and Danang were straight in approaches from the south. My pilot instructor flew 321s as well then 359s.
Hi ,just wondering How come there wasn't any actual voice call-outs as would be expected, but instead quiet hand signals, and a mutual understanding of each other's actions at the time were used instead? Cheers for answering .
Either you talk to the atc or cross communicate. How can you do both together? Delay the gear extension and you could have an unstable approach. Also, the AP was off
Great video man, love it!😍 I read Vietnam Airlines is coming to Amsterdam this Saturday, looking forward as they are not a regular visitor. Nice to read you love Japan so much! One of us is Japanese✌🏻🎌🇯🇵

*WEDNESDAY JULY 15 2020 12:05 PM CDT* After landing, it looked like the aircraft was shaking at 4:24. Kind of like the nose gear tires had a flat spot, causing the plane shaking at 4:24. 😕 Also, what was the female pilot saying at 5:06? 😕 Tony 59-year-old Black Air Force VET 🇺🇸✈
The Cpt actually appeared quite flustered at one point and seemed to lose focus at what appeared to be a stable cockpit environment. As far as I could tell no confirmation at 1,000' that the aircraft was stable as well as no comment to confirm landing at 'minimums' and did I see/hear the landing checklist I ask myself? I don't think so . . . . M
Well I saw the landing chef it’s being completed. Maybe their SOP allows them to call stable before 1000 if it’s achieved. She didn’t seem flustered. Maybe you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I always find it so crazy how low speed it looks from the cockpit view when they land.
Same feeling :'')
Yes its so low
Also a bit of zoom on the camera too which would give that impression
Oh I enjoyed that so much
Great all round experience.
I felt like I was sitting in the cockpit
Thank you so much for filming this

Since they are communicating with appr, pilot flying use hand signal to communicate with pilot monitoring to lower the gear.
