- Prominent review sites and travel agents have been saying some not-so-nice things about the Caribbean Princess lately. Some are saying it’s too old and has major air conditioning and plumbing issues. Since I shared a flattering review of the ship after a great cruise just a few months ago, I went back on board to see what was going on. Are the recent negative reviews accurate? I appreciate your positive outlook. I have been reading the horrible reviews of the ship and they are leading me to not be excited for my upcoming 16 day cruise😢. I feel better after watching this. Your retirement home comparison made me lol😂

It is an old ship and it shows. They need to scrap it. Our cabin was mediocre. No water pressure in the shower and no conditioner and shampoo was very drying to my hair. The bed was terrible. Also we left an additional tip for our cabin attendant and not once did she change our towels. As soon as we approached the piazza the smell of smoke was overwhelming. People were smoking in the casino everywhere so the smoke drifted out into the piazza. The crew was very friendly and good. The food in the buffet was cold and not very good.
Great video! I was on the Caribbean Princess last November on a Chumley's cruise. Really liked this ship, especially the wake view pool. This is my favorite class of Princess ship. We will see how I feel about the Sun Princess when I do another Chumley's cruise over Halloween this year. Thanks for your most excellent content!

I was on this cruise ! I was surprised at all the people dressed to celebrate St Patrick’s Day - and nothing from the ship except a meal ! It was impossible to get a table in the dining room and we had reservations! They practically told us to leave if we weren’t happy! I have been on the Caribbean many times. I LOVE the gym, which didn’t disappoint- wonderful view, great machines, and many to choose from! The free sauna and steam are still in the bathrooms! A lot of the crew recognized me from past voyages! The entertainment needs help! Overall I still love this ship - but my biggest complaint was the food ! There was a new German Chef who must have misplaced his imagination and taste buds ! Haha ! Next time on the Sapphire in November - 😀
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m a big fan of the included sauna and steam rooms but they’re apparently being ripped out as each Grand class ship goes into dry dock. Hope you enjoy the Saphire!

Coincidently, I was on this sailing and met you. I complained a bit about the cramped table games in the casino. We were packed like sardines, elbow-to-elbow.
Overall, I enjoyed myself on the CP and would sail again!

Will be on this ship for 14 days in the British Isles in less than 3 months. We're traveling with another couple...friends for years...and I'm sure we'll make our own best cruise, even if the ship is lacking in some areas. Thanks for your input.

Booked on Caribbean Princess for first Solo Transatlantic in May and was concerned about the A/C issue and glad to know that's no longer an issue! Your coverage on Caribbean Princess was a big help once I'd chosen that particular cruise. Total Vegan here so I am really curious to see what kind of options there will be now. I was on this cruise and I saw you but didn’t want to bother. The ship was dated activities were basic but it seemed typical we have just sailed on the discovery princess which was basically the same. My family still had a great time and will still sail on princess but I do agree with some of the things you said. Thank you for your video.

I have my eleventh cruise with Princess comming up in January. I have always tried to sail on Caribbean Princess. Been on other ships that don't have the same character, especially concerning Churchill's.
Yes it’s unfortunate that they’ve been removing Churchill’s on other ships- it’s a great venue and reduces the number of smokers in the casino. I hope you have a great cruise! January is a great time to cruise in my experience.
Hi from Kelowna, BC. We have Caribbean Princess booked for 16nts in July so fingers crossed. We were on her in 2019 so it'll be interesting to see how our experience differs. The Grand Class ships are my favourite because it's familiar. We're not hyper focused with the bells and whistles of the newer ships.
You’ll have a great time. I like the Grand class too. I would recommend booking a table in the main dining room every night to make it easier to get in on busy nights.
Any big difference in the activity offerings in the daily newsletter? I appreciated those on your blog from your 2023 sailing.
Thank you for following along! The activity programming was almost identical, they were just executed very differently by the activities team.
Good video, I have booked a B2B Alaska cruise on Royal for mid May. I chose Royal for the larger Piazza area and more chance of a fun time. My last 3 cruises on Royal the CD was Corinne Steel, she and her team where fabulous, full of energy and always engaging the guests. I certainly hope the Fun management team is on Royal in Alaska if not it will be a long 14 nights.

We were on the CP in January and maybe because they had just done a crew changeover (to what extent, no idea) we found every crewmember more than pleasant and helpful from the bartenders, MDR and really throughout the ship. So listening to your review was not what we would have expected to hear, but then again everyone's experience or perception is different. We also will be on the CP in May for a 12-day European Capitals Cruise. The ship is older and a bit dated, gym antiquated, cabins need a refresh, or the ship retired which would be a shame because ships with outdoor promenade decks are going the way of the 8 tracks.
Agree - it’s a great ship. I love the promenade and the venues that have been removed from other ships like thenight club and included steam/sauna. It was only 1 bar server who was very unkind to me and the MDR host who told me to go away. We enjoyed our interactions with every other crew member. I hope you enjoy your May cruise!

2023 st Patricks on CP they had decorations, kids games & irish dancing in piazza..
That sounds like fun! My friend and I accessorized for a party that never happened 🤣
