Thanks for such an informative review! We've only been on 1 other princess cruise (Regal Princess) and were looking to book another cruise. The enchanted princess looks like it won't disappoint!

I will not miss the wasted space of Churchills or the library and internet Cafe. Royal class has no indoor pool except for the enclave. You can also remove the casinos as far as I'm concerned but that won't happen.

Have you sailed on the Coral Princess? We have two weeks booked for Christmas and new year. 2025

The Enchanted Princess has a non-smoking section adjacent to the casino in the Take 5 Lounge where there are a number of slot machines.

Is there a big difference in wait time as far as boarding, if I get the medallion mailed to me versus picking it up at the port?

I have a dumb question, but I really don't know. When you're done gambling on the slots for the night, and you're playing to win cruise comps, should you cash out completely, and then re put it in a macine the next day, or do you just store it on your medallion account? Of course, I know. I will fully cash out when i'm done cruising for the week. I don't know which button to hit when i'm done. I'm very new to this! Thank you. I am going to be playing with a two hundred dollar a night budget, and I hope it's enough.

It boggles the mind to learn ANY cruise ship allows smoking. What are they thinking. The stench on clothes and hair can’t be sucked out the air. It stays on passengers. We’ve not traveled on Princess, but we’ve heard grumbling from friends who have been on this ship that the smell is not just in the casino. And almost 5,000 passengers and crew is way too big, anyway. Guess we’ll stick with Seaborne, Viking, and Windjammer.

I think after watching this I won’t book on this ship and I was looking at it for 2026. It’s wild that they’d release this ship and it wasn’t even it completely done.

I was on Sun October 2024. Here's my opinion of Enclave: 1) the hydrotherapy pool has no where to sit down. There are 2 places that have "jets" (bubbles) and you have to stand there inside of some circular metal "bars" that you hang onto. I was able to drape my arms over the bars to make myself weightless but it wasn't comfortable/relaxing. The "ergonomic" metal "bed" area is just that..metal. Very hard/uncomfortable and jet action nil. Granted I have a bad back and may be more suseptible pain wise. There are 2 hard shower spray things (for lack of a better word). They are ok. They had the best "jet" action in there to target tight muscles. Maybe I was missing something, but that was all there was (?) Also it smelled of chlorine the 2nd week😝 2) the "aroma" showers had no aroma and were no big deal imo 3) the hot stone beds were just that..stone. Not comfortable for a person with sore muscles/back. They were always occupied and when I did get to try one it didn't feel very hot to me. And was uncomfortable as I said. Here are the pluses (imo): 1) The Himalayan salt room was awesome! Very relaxing. Perfect temperature and soft music. I've never experienced one before and I loved it. I'm encouraged to buy a salt lamp for home. 2) the steam room was great. Lots of steam and the fragrance was perfect. 3) I didn't see/ use sauna. I don't care for them. 4) There was a room with some very "cloud-like" ergonomic loungers covered in nice fluffy sheets (where one waits for their massage?) I used one of those extensively the first week. But before my massage the 2nd week they were all occupied..that bummed me out. If the "hot tub" was better I may have kept my reservation (for the 2nd week) just for that.. a decent hot therapy pool, the Himalayan salt room and steamroom. And the "fluffy" lounge

I was most disappointed that the Enchanted lack a library.

I think the Sun has updated elegance. The designers are trying to include what the thirty somethings like and what the baby boomers like. I think they found it. You have to update. If I sold my house, the new owners would tear out my white appliances, dark wood custom cabinets, and formica counter tops. All the things I love. They would replace it with cookie cutter white, gray, and stainless steel. Oh no. Get my point?

Going on the Regal in a few weeks and it sounds like to me that you need to spend all day and night in the casino to get comps. I don’t even like gambling, I find it boring, so I guess I’m out.

We spent several weeks on the Sun Princess in June and have also sailed Icon. The Icon, although impressive in scale, is a gaudy eyesore from inside to out. The Sun Princess provides a much more elevated experience even though she got off to a rocky start.

Carnival decided to ban my portable radio in my small Bluetooth speaker from our vacations. So we decided to ban Carnival and canceled our four upcoming cruises. We already rebooked two cruises with msc. Not to mention Carnival pissing a lot of people off when they raised their drink package price. Yes, Royal Caribbean is kicking the shit out of Carnival. I think MSC will do the same. They got our business when Carnival did not want it.😅

Icon & CoCo Cay were amazing. Overall the shows, food, service and ship were fantastic. 2 complaints (besides how expensive the ship is)…Now I like clue music for a few hrs or maybe even one day. But at the Hideaway adults only pool, (one of the nicest areas on the ship) they blasted the same pre recorded tape all day every day. The DJ had no control over what was played as it was a “company tape”. It was cool for the first 4 hours on day one. But by the end of the 1st day it had gotten really old. By the 2nd day it was annoying. By the 3rd day we cancelled the private day beds we had pre rented at the back of the ship. Also the dueling pianos was a massive disappointment. People giving $100 tips to hear their boring webbing song that no one cared about and the piano players barely knew who to play. It was really bad.

The word "cay" is the Bahamian spelling of "key" in American English and they are pronounced the same way.

I love Princess and I was initially very excited for the Sphere Class. After watching a lot of reviews though, I have to say I plan on sticking to the Royal class for Princess. So many reviews say the same thing: each venue and service on the ship is too small to accommodate the larger passenger count. I'd rather see fewer but sufficiently sized venues, and I hope the Star Princess will be a better example of the Sphere class.

I cruised January 6th 2025 just got back today and it was awesome

Atrocious!!! Asinine!!! Worthless!!! Have yet to have a hot meal at the buffet. Customer service told us we could be provided with a fan for our suite... NOPE!!! "It's a fire hazard" or so they say but Holland America gave us one with a smile. So I walked 3 miles to Kmart on St. Thomas to buy one and Princess confiscated it with out remorse. PISSED OFF!!!! The ship design is severly lacking as far as efficiency and ease of getting around. My mother is in a wheelchair and it's a sick joke to get around. And OMG the elevators... I know they are an issue on all ships but this is so much worse than I have ever experienced. 3 days in and I want to go home.

They better step up their food quality in the MDR or they will lose many cruisers. Seems as though they purposely scimmped in the MDR so people will choose the specialty dining and pay the extra $$$. Just open all dining options as all inclusive.

The cruise industry is messy right now. I used to sale Royal almost exclusively, but their prices are out of control, and the included food quality degraded. I was also sick and tired of constantly being asked to do the cruise survey by staff. Royal’s entertainment remains excellent, though it’s not enough to get me to come back now. Icon to me, a guy in his late 20s who enjoys a refined cruise experience, looks like a stressful environment. I’ve been swapping between Celebrity, Holland and Princess regularly now. Holland’s food remains the best, followed closely by Celebrity, while Princess varies by region a lot I feel. In the Caribbean, Celebrity’s itineraries are limited and repetitive, while in the Mediterranean they’re nicely varied. Holland America continues to offer the most unique itinerary choices and variety, with Princess a close second in my searches. I cannot imagine staying loyal to a specific line. There is simply too much variation between ships within each brand, itinerary options, and onboard experience.

Seems like I will be sticking with Princess Royal-class cruise ships.

My biggest problem with sun princess is that they made the santuary a nightclub and no longer a santuary. The music is way too loud and the service is no longer first class. A lot different than when i was on enchanted princess and was told i was talking to loud to someone in the hot tub and asked to lower my voice by one of the serenity stewards..........

NCL is slowly ruining the Haven "experience" by continuing to add suites...its not as exclusive as once was, more people without expanding common areas...its all about greed with NCL.

It seems very nice to me, but I have only been on 18 cruises. My only complaint was the very small sport deck and showers.

Unfortunaly, our cruise agent was not able to get inclusive breverage package as we had over the last 3 years with Celebrity and Norvegian. We will skip the breverage package this time because it is too costly ( 2 x 28 x 100$ cdn + tips). I wish Celebrity have the same trip!

I feel like your friend's emergency may have impacted your judgment. When you look at the size of Haven amenities, including the observation lounge, even at triple occupancy, the total number of Haven passengers could not overwhelm three stories of amenities (as you pointed to they are spread out over three floors). And the butler would be responsible for the robe, and the butler was Johnny on the spot in our experience, and things were handled with immediacy. I agree with one of the other commenters, the cruise line cannot evacuate a healthy passenger to see a loved one. And I hate to be snide, but I did note that your friend's friend recovered within less than a day and a half, per the timeline you provided.

We are in the sanctuary suite class right now. If they were trying to compete with Celebrity Retreat, they failed miserably. Not even close as far as service and personal relationships.

Over Christmas break 2024 we cruised the Princess Carribean. Out of 7 requests for room service - five were not correct. One time a container of hot water - two cups - but no coffee or cream which we ordered. Unable to attach pic - shower head blew off. Staff fixed it, new screw, but gee. Our balcony had multiple dried paint blobs. For three weeks we tried to get the specialty dinner reservations - even though we paid for the package. Food was not good. We won’t go again. Ship was crowded but not with staff. Our tenth cruise - this was the most worthless of all. How can we get our money back - I was in tears by the time we got off.

Going on the sun in a year, January 2026. So hopefully it gets better by then

You never know. I got a GTY cabin on the Caribbean Princess underneath the Lido , beside the kitchen, cabin R622. I expected horrible and it was the best location I ever had. Close to the fantastic terrace pool . The lido area it was under was a quite area that was never an issue. Perfect cabin.

Princess is broken!seven day cruise out of San Francisco in a entry level room is 2,200 for two no thanks!

As a smoker myself I have to agree about the smoking section in the casino it is quite large and Smokey and the new non smoking area which was take 5 is very small and the machines in there are not the most common or newest that I’ve played. I choose to not smoke in the casino because unfortunately a lot of non smokers play next to me and I see the uncomfortableness they experience when I want to smoke I just go the outside smoking area on deck 7 and then just go back to play

Thank you! I'm booked on the Sun Princess for a transatlantic on March 9, 2025 from Ft Lauderdale to Southampton. Princess used to be my favorite line, but I was disappointed on my last cruises, to Hawaii and Alaska, and I expect to find disappointments on my upcoming trip, too. I just returned from a west-bound transatlantic on Holland American, spending a total of 30 days on the Nieuw Statendam. It was wonderful. I don't have the loyalty status on HAL that I do on Princess, but we shall see what I chose next time...

I just think elite guests should be allowed only... As a shareholder as well, the reason why they don't care is because that. Lounger is already paid for so why would they have a no show policy on a chair?That's already been paid for...

[part 2]. We also experienced many issues from a blocked toilet as well as nearly every ladies toilet I attempted to use on the ship had at least one cubicle out of order and in one case only one toilet worked out of the 3 available… this was a real pain and made for a few lengthy waits as well as a dash one evening when I was feeling ill and the nearest toilet was out of order. We were also woken one night when an acrid burning smell like burning rubber and smoke filled our cabin. When I spoke with guest services about it, it appears it occurred in several other cabins too but I was given no explanation as to what the cause was. Another issue we noticed on more than one occasion was several bar staff at bars yet they seemed to ignore you and were pottering about as if doing tasks, it felt quite rude but I think this was not the norm as the majority of the staff we interacted with were exceptionally polite. I think the food was okay but we were disappointed by the choices as it was all very repetitive and when we decided to try another restaurant for a change we were surprised when our meal dragged out to 2hrs!!!! One of our biggest let downs was the casino whereby the craps table didn’t open till 2000 hrs and closed at 0030 even when there were people wanting to play!!!! What kind of cruise ship is this? I felt like most evenings the ship was really dead in areas, with huge bars that could hold 200 people but barely had twenty in. My husband and I are by no means party animals but we do like some fun and atmosphere… this felt like a place where cruisers go to waste away with boredom. My 15 year old son was totally bored as the teens club was age 13-17 (why on earth would a 17 year old want to hang with a 13 year old?)… he went to the club to find it empty on several occasions and it took half way through the cruise for him to find a few other teens to hang with as of the 100 or so on board the max he ever saw at the club was about 15 and on at least one occasion he was the only kid to turn up.

[part 2] Just had an 8 day cruise from Orlando to the Western Caribbean (15-23 Dec - Roatan, Belize City, Costa Maya & Cozumel) with my husband (age 56) and son (15). I am 54 and this was our first time on a Princess cruise and I am sorry to say may well be our last! Not only did I feel like I was in a retirement home as the average age was 65+ but the entertainment was severely lacking and a real snooze fest. Most events only lasted 45 minutes and the main entertainment seemed to be quizzes in the various bars and a few musicians round and about from piano players and singers to guitar duos and violinists. The only decent entertainment we saw was a young British singer & guitarist Emma Lauran and a pianist and Singer (Brian Johnston???) who were both excellent… all the others were just okay. We never made it to the theatre shows as it seemed a real hassle queuing for a decent seat for something that would only last 45 minutes and after speaking with several other passengers it seems we didn’t miss much as they weren’t the full scale productions were used to from other cruises we had taken but were instead just more singers. It seems princesses idea of entertainment was just putting on health and wellbeing stuff - in the hope selling you things you don’t need - rather than providing the entertainment their websites promise. We were really fed up to discover that all the comedians were cancelled and in our cruise there were only two nights that they were on vice the 3 shows each night we had experienced on previous cruise lines.

I was in the Ruby in 23 with an 11 day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Panama Canal, Costa Rica, Columbia, Jamaica, Cayman Islands. I relive those days all the time. I loved everything about my cruise. While on the Ruby, I have to admit, I hung out in the Jewelery Store. I fell in love with the staff and how kind they were! I remember Vivek but no other names. I can see them clearly in my memories. Two girls and three men worked there. I wish I could email them! I have been looking for more Ruby cruises. I wanted to take my grandson on a Ruby cruise. Problem, his high school graduation happens, then he will be packing up and moving off to University. I hope he starts in our state but he could be going out of state. A few years ago, I went on a 4 day cruise on Carnival. I have told my brothers how much I loved Ruby way more than Carnival. The entire staff of Ruby were so kind, great sense of humor, helpful. Our Steward was fabulous!! I want to cruise Ruby again. Probably south rather than going north. I have to have the pool!! 😅😅

When Air Canada or West Jet denies your claim, it can pay off to appeal, although it is a very time consuming and slow process. I did get some compensation in the end after initially getting the beyond our control blather.

Thanks. I've always selected my cabin carefully but for my upcoming Princess trip two weeks from today the only choice by the time I booked was a guarantee. I am still anxiously waiting my assignment. Your advice about rooms opening up due to no-shows is very helpful and while I hope I don't need it I will keep it in mind

Thanks, a well put together review, and just confirms that we won't be going on any of these class of Princess ships; reminds me (nightmarishly) of a recent 4 days on Virgin, NEVER again. Our previous 6 princess cruise ships have been the smaller older style (traditional cruising), which suits us to a tee, as does HAL.

Good advice I always pay the little extra on cruises to choose my own room after checking all the boxes on my checklist including researching the deck plans I don’t like noise in my cabin that I can control so I always choose cabins with other cabins bellow above and sis by side no connecting cabins and at least 2 decks bellow the lido deck
