- We recently took a 10-day Panama Canal Cruise on the Caribbean Princess and there were things we loved and things we didn't like at all during the cruise. Here are the Top Five Things we enjoyed and the Bottom Five Things we hated. @backroadstourist
I love the medallion. It was great. I love the tea time every day, love the International Cafe, etc….
The Medallion is AWESOME, isn't it?
They have tea time? Is it included or extra and is it everyday ?
@@heathermichael3987 it was included and I believe everyday except embarkation and debarkation.
Thank you !!!
@@heathermichael3987 you’re welcome!!
I'll be on princess Caribbean in 8 days can't wait
Terrific! Have a wonderul cruise! Next Tuesday I have a video tour of the Caribbean Princess coming out. Take a look at it and see what you can expect! Also, if you like to spend some time in the casino, here's a tour (and some tips) for he casino on the Caribbean Princess.

Disembarkation/Buffet/Tables: Yes,... we also had that issue on our Panama Canal Princess cruise... the buffet tables were a gong show..... staff were very attentative throughout the whole cruise...but the day you leave, it's like... so long! We don't care about you anymore...!
Wow, my wife and I did a 8 day in the Caribbean this spring. It was our 1st time aboard the Caribbean princess. We had an AMAZING time and was ready to book again for November but, I needed hernia surgery. 😢 the only thing you mentioned that we found somewhat funny was the "reserved" seats in the theater. After the 1st night we just got there early and always had good seats. We both enjoyed all the shows and thought the comedian was one of the funniest we had ever seen, and he did a clean show to boot! We found every meal to be above our expectations and the buffet great! We'd go again in a heartbeat!
You and I are on the same page, my friend. My wife and I always got to the theater about half an hour before showtime and always got great seats. We'd pass the time by talking and maybe having a drink before the show. Most of the time, the entertainment has been terrific. Ugh, sorry to hear about your hernia surgery. I hope all is well. Enjoy planning your next cruise and thanks for watching.
Thank you for your input! I’ll be on that boat in 46 days. I’m doing some research and study of the boat and I came across your video. Thx for your time and effort to show us your experience
You're very welcome. I'm glad you found the video helpful. On Tuesday, May 9th, I'm putting up a video tour of the Caribbean Princess. Then, at the end of the month the video is a tour of the inside cabin we had. You may find those videos interesting, too. Have a great cruise and thanks for watching!
Good on you, Steven. Do your research and your cruise will be so much more enjoyable.
Thanks! We have 16nts booked for July 2024. Last time we were on this ship was March 2019 right before she went into dry dock to add the kids splash pad.
Thanks for watching! Your 16 day cruise looks amazing! I'm envious. I'm sure you're going rto have a wonderful time!
Nice video. We'll be on the Caribbean Princess in a few weeks. I subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for subscribing. I appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful cruise!
How was your experience? I'll be on the same ship soon. Reviews are not great.
@@gurlylocks3275 we had fun, even though my husband came down with Covid and had to quarantine for a day.. The ship is old. Public restrooms sometimes were not working and needed cleaning. But the food and service were very good. We enjoyed the entertainment as well.
A great video, as a Hotel and Restaurant College Graduate, I am shocked about the lack of clearing dishes. That is Hospitality 101! A clean table is money, or in this case, a happy cruiser. I am going on the Caribbean Princess later on I'll see if it has changed.
First of all, thanks for watching! Yes, I was shocked at the piles of dishes on tables. I've never seen that on Princess before. We just got back from our latest Princess cruise yesterday and I'm happy to report that we didn't see anything like this. We went to the buffet for breakfast on disembarkation day just like we did on the Caribbean Princess, but on the Ruby Princess, things were just great. Let's keep our fingers crossed that what we saw on the Caribbean was just a fluke.
Excellent video!
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
I love it brother

We've been on 4 Princess cruises and all on last day were like this. We usually load up at the buffet and take back to our room because of this. I think staff is assigned other jobs that day and they have very limited help on debarkation day. We sail again on 2/18/24. We'll see if the trend continues.
We were on that cruise and you sat at the same table we did one evening. Enjoyed meeting you. I agree with you on most of this. Can't say about the casino because we never went in. The shows were all excellent.
Wow! It's great to hear from you! Thanks so much for watching. You'll be seeing several more videos from that cruise coming up in the next few weeks. I hope we'll run into one another again on a future cruise.
@Backroads Tourist We enjoyed our conversation that evening. We are both in the travel industry - you do this and I am a TA. It is a great way to make a living. Maybe we will meet again on another cruise!
Which shows did you have?
I can't remember most of the "official" names of the show, but one was Broadway Music, another was opera. The BIG production show was called "Fantastic Journey". It was pretty spectacular with amazing sets, costumes and talent. There were a few technical glitches, but nothing too distracting. The comedian was Ken Boyd and he had the audience roaring. One of the funniest comedians I've seen at sea. They also had a musical impressionist who was good and a husband-wife comedy magician duo from Canada. I WISH I had jotted down their names because they were very good. I think that overall, Princess tends to have some very talented entertainers and good shows.
I am very tempted to upgrade from plus to premier for the reserved theatre seats. It seems like a great perk being able to take my time with dinner and not worrying about rushing to save a seat then sitting in a theatre for 30+ minutes.
I am surprised you consider this a negative.
I’m looking forward to having reserve seating. I’m going to be very happy (as you pointed out) not rushing through dinner worrying about finding a seat! I’m also looking forward to all the other perks in this package.
@@pw-sz6ds I'm glad I'm not the only one, I see so much hate online for this perk.
I am also looking forward to having the reserved theater seating and not having to rush to the theater 30 minutes early
I certainly appreciate that you and others find some value in this, but there is something you should know about. If you read the terms and conditions for this perk, it states that "guests must arrive between 15 and 30 minutes before show time to select seats" It also states that "seats will be released to all voyage guests starting 15 minutes prior to show time." On our last cruise, they released them 5 minutes before the show started, but you know it's only a matter of time before someone cites the terms and conditions to insist on getting those seats 15 minutes before show time as stated. So, if you take the terms and conditions at face value, it looks like you're only given a 15 minute window to grab those reserved seats.
@@backroadstourist thanks for the info. I will keep this in mind.
Did you see any kids on the boat? I want to know if there’s some activities for kids to do during the voyage
We saw just a few children. We think it's because Princess caters to an older crowd and because we weren't sailing during any school vacations. Princess does offer sort of a Kid's Club for different age groups. Since I don't have children in that range anymore, I can't tell you what activities the clubs offer. Princess doesn't offer any sort of waterslides or on-deck rides like some of the other cruise lines that cater to families.
@@backroadstourist ok thnk u kindly for that information. Very helpful
@@101Younginthe Caribbean princess does have a splash park and kiddie pool with slide! Pretty large size too. And they have an awesome Dicovery channel camp.
