Man, the one that gutted me the most is the Ultimate Spider-Man sequel. I’m a fan of both the comics and the game, so a sequel would’ve been a real treat.
The only one I was actually aware of was Spider-Man 4's game, all the others were new to me. You know, was honestly expecting a TASM game in here too, but then remembered that in 2014, movie games were in their way out completely, and a TASM3 game would be some mobile only thing.
I remember there was a sequel for Ultimate Spider-Man in GBA and NDS, it was called Ultimate Spider-Man: Battle For New York, with the Green Goblin as a playable character. Spider-Man played pretty much the same, but with the Green Goblin you had to destroy specific objects in each level and fight hallucinations. Not sure if Battle For NY is a port of the original idea for Ultimate Spider-Man 2, but if so, it saddens me to think that we could've control the Green Goblin in a open world causing chaos with fire powers.
That is prequel actually. But sure sequel of Ultimate Spider-Man would be something like that, sad it never got realeased... Controling Gobby in open world in HD would be insanely good for sure.
I remember hearing that one idea the Web of Shadows developers had for a sequel was a what what if where a Carnage possessed Spider Man would do a worst version of what Venom did in the first game and you would be playing as Venom and would have been able to use your suit to create multiple weapons and this idea eventually became Prototype

On today's episode of "Matt vs. Activision Yet Again". For real though, great video, per usual. So many what ifs and lost titles. Somebody is bound to pick them up and put their own spin. Never say never.
weirdly enough I had a dream about ultimate Spider-Man 2 where there was a chase sequence with the green goblin and you have to escape him and basically use a parkour system to traverse between the tight alleyways to make him stuck or simply just hide but after that mission he would have an ai that would be active 24/7 in the free roam sections where he would basically look for you and chase you around the city and basically just play on horror of a giant green monster chasing you around with bloodlust which would have been cool to see outside of my stupid brain
Radical's Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man 2 and WoS sequel would've probably had better mechanics if completed. SMPS4 is so automated and barebones that I might as well just watch a Spider-Man movie. Spidey can't even wall run or skid downwards in these games, swinging arc randomly breaks leading to lack of loop de loops as opposed to older games where it felt like you were in control of the webline and there was more depth with mechanics The one thing Insomniac has over past Spider-Man games is Sony money and not being tied to a scummy publisher that wants to rush them. Treyarch, Shaba and Beenox made fun games but Activision hindered them. Insomniac doesn't have that issue I believe that Activision really has/had talented devs like Treyarch, Raven, Toys for Bob Neversoft, Shaba Games, Beenox, Radical, etc but they're all held back by their owner
