As a long time hiker myself but also someone of a certain age with a fledgling UA-cam site of his own I appreciate the time ,effort and skill that went into making these films. Well done. I’ve subscribed and booked my train ticket to Carlisle in May. 👍
Thanks Stu 👍 You’re right, a lot goes into planning, shooting and editing videos. I love Hadrian’s Wall. It was better than I expected and I had a wonderful time. Hope you also saw Day 5 all the way to the coast, and the 2 trailer vids. Enjoy the trail! Justin 🤠
@@JustinWhiting9 I did watch day five and I cannot for the life of me understand why everyone misses out that section of trail. It’s a perfect end to the walk to hit the beach at South Shields. I’ll definitely be adding it on to my hike. Thanks for the tip.
Hi Justin. I was absolutely inspired by your Hadrian's Wall hike and having just retired at 60, I did a lot of training for 3 weeks and completed it in 5 days the first week of September. Thank you for all the videos and commentary. They really gave me the confidence to fulfil a 45 year old ambition since studying Latin at school! I now feel that I am hooked on hiking and I am studying your other hikes! I feel the Cumbria Way is calling. Thank you. I also watched Stushikesandrides videos when he walked HWP in May and they too gave me inspiration. I am joining the hiking family! Regards. Steve@@JustinWhiting9
Hi Stu. Please see my comment to Justin. I really enjoyed your HWP walk. I was touched by your "taking a pebble from one coast to the other" and I did that for my parents and uncle. I videoed it for my children and it was rather an emotional moment. Thank you for your videos and commentary - they helped me too. Cheers. Steve@@stushikesandrides
@@stephenpring211 Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and watch the videos - it really means such a lot. I’ve just got back from another walk in the north east, this time St. Cuthberts Way, that’s a cracker as well.
Hey, nice one Justin - doing it your way. I imagine you kicked back a bit and enjoyed the Tyne. All nice and ready for the penultimate adventure. All the best. Mark
Simple pleasures, a hot bath, clean clothes, nice meal, bed 😴 💤
@@JustinWhiting9 Indeed!
So, now I finally know what it's like to wake up next to you 🤗 😬 I also have my troubles to sleep longer than a few hours in the tent and usually get up as soon as it becomes light.
And today, of course... 👑🌈 🙏 I am not a big fan of royalty but she was an institution for my whole life...
She was the greatest monarch in the history of Britain. The mother of the nation, and of the whole world. A truly remarkable lady. I met her when she visited my home town when I was a boy. 😔
That must have been an amazing night of sleep 😅
I don't sleep well in my tent either so I know exactly what you mean 😉
100 times better than my tent! 😂

Well done Stephen! 👍 I am delighted and humbled to have inspired you. Thank you for your kind words. Hiking in green spaces is good for the body and soul, the benefits are countless… Hadrian’s Wall evokes the imagination and awe in such an achievement. There will be no stopping you now! All the best, Justin 🤠
Absolutely! Thanks Justin. I smiled when you said on your Rob Roy Way walk that you had taken accommodation instead on that hike in order to allow more time for that walk. I camped for two nights on the HWP but stayed at (very comfortable) bunkhouses thereafter and I will most likely stay in accommodation on my next hike. I felt less guilty about doing that after your RRW videos 🙂 @JustinWhiting9
Guilt is interesting there Stephen. Not sure it’s exactly the right word, but I know what you mean. I felt it too, and expected a few comments in that direction. However, we shouldn’t, nobody really cares what you do. It’s much more important to do the right thing and treat others in a respectful and friendly manner. That’s what counts. The other stuff is just bravado. Do it your way. 👍
Everything you have just said comes across in your videos in spades Justin. Whilst I said the Cumbria Way is calling, that will be for next summer. I think I have identified my next hike which is the coastal path of the Isle of Wight. Surprisingly, it is 70 miles long with plenty of undulation as coastal paths tend to be. I reckon that will be a lovely 4 - 5 day little hike with lots of amazing coastal scenery.@@JustinWhiting9
Coastal walking is hard work and windy! Enjoy it! 👍
another great day Justin hope you rested up well ready for your final day atb daz
I certainly did Daz. Bath tub, meal, bed, simple pleasures are luxury after the tent 👍
In the first half of the video you can truley see, that this was not your perfect day - respectively night ....
I think the end of the Hadrians way is too much city-walking, meaning for me this one´s not so attracting.
Looking forward on you last day.
And again nice greetings from Bavaria
Day 5 was brilliant. You might change your mind...
Who is the singer in your background music?
Hi James, it’s a friend of mine called Adam Broadhurst. Links to music on his band’s channel in the description (and in every other video). It’s great stuff 👍. Please send him a message and tell him you came via me. He’s a friendly chap and he’ll like that 🤠
PS - My fave song is Some Stories… ua-cam.com/video/pvk-hRxVVhs/v-deo.html
I trust you slept like a baby Justin 🙂
Every night’s the same in the tent, rubbish uncomfortable sleep….
